Reviewed By Christine BWe stayed in the delightful hotel on the sea at the end of a two week trip through France. Our seaside room on the second floor with a spacious balcony was ideal. We could sleep to the sound of gentle waves or have our coffee as saint jean de luz woke up. The front desk was helpful and the full buffet breakfast was delicious. It was a perfect way to wrap up our trip!

Reviewed By kenny028Hotel au bon coin is a wonderful hotel -small(16 rooms) family run,and the family are very welcoming,helpful and go out of their way to make your stay great.breakfasts(fruit,cheese and cold meats,bread and cakes) are really good.rooms spotless and all COVID procedures followed.the hotel is in a quiet residential are but just off the rue de Verdun which runs down to the centre of Biarritz ,the beaches etc.on rue de Verdun there is a fabulous restaurant -le 0 Verdun where we had the best meal in 10 days in Basque country.there is also a wine bar l'art de vin which has a wonderful selection of 50 wines by the glass and jamon,cheese and a great lemon meringue.looking forward to returning to au bon coin and Biarritz as soon as possible.

Reviewed By pdunn802022The staff was great, the location is great, it’s nice and clean.all perfect until you lay down on the mattress . So hard and uncomfortable that I could not sleep all night! It is a shame because Mercure Hotels are usually great.

Very Nice Hotel
Reviewed By Simon SStayed here for 3 nights as part of a business trip. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was also very quiet which makes for a better sleep. My room had views over the golf course so everything was nice a green when I looked out the window. If you are a golfer (which I am not) you have the course on the doorstep! It looks like an interesting course which seems to right around the hotel, as far as the beach and back! The beach is about a 5 minute walk away and is excellent for surfing with several surf schools and reasonably large waves! The food at the hotel was very good, though the selection was not huge, but it was the low season which might explain why. If you are after night-life then there is not a lot around, but if you want a quiet get away with the odd round of golf then it's a good place to come.

The 26 air-conditioned rooms in this renovated (june 2012) hotel have been decorated in a fresh and cosy 'Atlantic' style and are spread out over 2 floors. (elevator)Many of them have a delightful sea view from the balcony. Here you are in the heart of Biarritz, right by the sea, above the Fishing Port. Sit comfortably on the terrace of the hotel's restaurant-brasserie.
Disappointing experience
Reviewed By Reto1961Well, this hotel has an excellent location, just centrally downtown. But that's it. More than overprized for an average room with more than 300 EUR. Staff are correct and friendly. Room had a balcony and a workdesk, these are assets. Bathroom was just disguting, with stains in the wash basin. Place needs urgent renovation. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. The night before we had a drink at the restaurant, and the waitress did not know the difference berween a Gin & Tonic and a Americano. Thats a no go. For paying such a hign rate, I would except much more.

Reviewed By George OOne of the worst. Looks good on the net but that's where it ends. Food is terrible, couldn't eat most of it. The room are outdated and in desperate need of renovation. A real let down especially when we travelled a long distance. We expected a lot more. Our friends were French and they thought it was poor too. 3 meals were included in the package... a resaonble deal except we could barely eat it. We wemt out for lunch instead. Breakfast ok. Dinner was shocking.
