Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant is located in the quiet village of Volcano a mile from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The Park, home of Hawaii's active volcano Kilauea, offers miles of scenic overlook and trails. Romantic rooms and cottage are available with private bath, towel warmers, central heat and some with fireplaces. Hot tub and Wi-Fi available.
Everyone at the lodge was very helpful. Very close to the national park. Thanks to the young girl in gift shop who advised us to go counter clock wise around the crater as when we encountered people coming the opposite direction they had the rain in their face's which made it hard to see

The Kula Lodge offers Rustic Lodging with magnificent views. We have a full service restaurant and marketplace on site. Our restaurant is ope 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm daily. Our Marketplace is open daily from 7am to 7pm.
The garden is absolutely beautiful and refreshing however the customer service that we received was horrible. Our server neglected to check on us during our meal. I ordered coffee and fish and chips which was served cold. I wasn’t expecting this type of service at all. My mom’s food was cold , I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all. So disappointed.

Lokahi Lodge is nestled in the heart of Volcano Village in a quiet, peaceful area. The lodge is less than a mile from the entrance of the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park and the many splendors and activities it has to offer. Lokahi Lodge blends modern convenience with country charm. Each of the carefully appointed guest rooms expresses warm aloha, delicately and beautifully furnished for your pleasure with modern bathrooms with showers, and amenity centers with microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge. This property fronts the beautiful and unique Volcano Village rainforest! The following is located on site: free WIFI.
Was exactly as depicted and advertised - great location, very clean and spacious (we had 201, top floor unit with king & double). Our family of 4 especially appreciated that there were enough towels and the small kitchenette with fridge and mircrowave. And there was a great breeze through the windows. Only thing to be aware of is the beds are VERY firm, as they’re on a wooden platform, no boxspring. I actually don’t mind a firm bed, but you should know in case you prefer a soft or medium mattress. We loved how close it was to the Park (5 mins!) and to Thai Thai bistro (delicious!) Check-in/out was so easy too. Thanks for a great stay!

The Kalaheo Inn is hands down the best place to stay on Kauai. Marilyn (the manager) has found an excellent balance between budget accommodations and comfort. Twenty years ago we stayed in one of their small studios and this year stayed in their 3 bed, 2 bath house with our kids. Both experiences were fantastic. The Kalaheo Inn feels like coming home--and who doesn't like being home? Everything is clean, functional, and perfect for a Hawaiian vacation--including their large supply of snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Nestled within native Hapu'u tree ferns and Ohia trees, these delightful havens offer the luxury and privacy you seek. Each vacation home is masterfully designed with an elegant decor and comfortable furnishings ("Hawaiian Plantation" to "French Country"). Our vacation homes are strategically located within Volcano Village; as close as possible to the entrance to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park! Attention to detail, direct phone line, cable TV, stereo system, full kitchen, living space, and dining space.
Room was spacious. Kitchen area exceeded expectations. Bed was very comfortable. Extra large walk in showern with celing rain knozzles was unexpected. Extra security lighting at night was very comforting. Being in rain forest there was noise from nacturnal creatures during the night.

I am still blown away at how much I loved this place after a few days there. We normally stay at luxury hotels but a friend’s wedding in Pahoa brought us to Ma’ukele and I couldn’t be happier that we stayed there. I was apprehensive at first since I’m more of a fan of hotel rooms. Our host Raven immediately put me at ease with her welcoming demeanor and loving spirit. Here are some of the highlights for me: First, it was incredibly clean. We stayed in the suite and it was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and linens were of excellent quality, which resulted in some of the best sleep I’ve had in years. We appreciated Raven tidying up the room while we were out and about. Second, I was terrified of the outdoor shower set-up, but it was honestly one of the most amazing experiences ever. I’ve only felt that connection to nature while in African safaris. Third, Raven pays attention to the smallest details in order to make you feel at home. When my spouse mentioned liking a particular tea, we later found a brand new box of that same tea in our room that she had acquired for us. You may miss all the tiny details, but this is service unlike anything you’ll find in a hotel. It’s the little things that really enhance an experience. After coming back to the property each day from wedding related events, I appreciated the serenity and peace we got at Ma’ukele more and more. I even told my spouse that the next time we need to get away from the world, this is the place to do it.

Just spent a blissful few days at the Hawaiian Sanctuary. We only booked 2 nights since this was out of our normal vacation experience so thought we would check it out. Let me tell you, it was too short! The premises is beautiful, lush and so full- full of good energy, full of great character! The sense of community was so beautiful. In particular the community kitchen was awesome - the current chef Lindsay is a hoot! His persona and energy and life story is so inspiring! If you like to live free and experience solitude this is the place for you. Very basic yet enriching. Stay with an open mind

Here's my review: Stayed recently over the Easter weekend (4 nights) Bottom line: A great place to stay as a base for exploring the Natl. Volcanic Park for solo or couples - which is 5 min away.....This is more of a hostel type experience in an older house with shared bathrooms but a great economical stay. You may see some others registered guests sharing the kitchen and Frig etc. I stayed in room 311 (the upper part of 3 levels). Anyway room was good - adequate for the stay in the upper Rain Forest (4000 ft) Constructive Feed Back - Suggestions for Mgmt. : (property co) #1) Front Door Lock - worked poorly and hard to manage (get to work) - either re-key or put some graphite in there #2) Better trash pickup - piled up after awhile #3) Paper towels would be nice for kitchen area Pro: Super close to VNP main entrance + 5 min drive to Volcano General stores (2) Tips: Very good Wood fired pizzas (Ohelo Cafe) - although sticklers for COVID protocols (as most places this is over - but to each of their own)- a very good place with good food - close 7pm (I also like the general store next door - I went every morning for Kona Coffee - very good $2). Suggested trails in VNP : (most do) : Kilauea IkI Crater trail : 4 miles round trip - do as a loop (park in lot 2nd lot) : Chain of Craters Round - From rain forest to Sea Level - Sea Arch (suggestion - continue on another 1/4 mile from Sea Arch and visit Coconut Grove planted in the 1960s - I thought cool... :NIght viewing of lava - (do 9 - 11 pm) - 1 mile each way + suggestion ; bring a pair of binoculars -makes a huge diff in viewing night lave lake

The Nalu Kai Lodge, Paia Hotel is In the heart of Paia town Charming boutique hotel Unique Hawaiiana atmosphere Affordable rates Oceanside - steps to the beach Simple, Spotless, & Comfortable rooms
I think this lodge is beautiful at the entrance and the rooms are nicely decorated but I did not like that the bathroom does not have a door, so it is a place for one person, which is pricey. And that some of the rooms don't have a proper room with ventilation. Some of the ones that have, receive almost all day an annoying fried food smell. It's also next to the Paia cafe which has music every night, so goodbye to sleeping, specially with jet lag. Also tried to use washer and drier and door was closed at the times it was supposed to be open.
