Clean, simple hotel
Reviewed By meowoStayed at this hotel for 1 night on 26 Jun 2018. Room is clean with toiletry, cable tv, coffee & tea. Hot and cold water dispenser is located on every floor. There is no lift in this hotel. Breakfast is simple porridge with side dishes. Toast are also provided. Hot shower is only available from 6pm till 8am daily. Location of this hotel is just beside the 1st parking lot. It is also within a short walking distance to the shopping district and train station. The hotel is operated by a couple and they are friendly. Although the couple may not be managing the reception counter often, the vegetable stall seller outside their hotel are also helpful in giving us advice.

Reviewed By Philip_SngExcellent stay in Long Yun Leisure Farm. We booked directly on their web site for a family of 4 room. When we got to Taiwan, used Line to communicate with them on pick up from Fenqihu train station & they were very responsive via Line. During stay, they offer free transport to Shizhuo so that we can take bus up to the Alishan Recreation Area. The room is spacious & view is fantastic (we book room 511 & they gave us 521). We were also lucky that there was a tour group during our stay & we got to join in the mochi making session & night forest walk for fireflies as free programme. The room price was inclusive of breakfast & dinner so it was value for money. Best part was the friendly staff. We had an unexpected transport arrangement for check-out and one of the staff (a young man who is part of the farm management's family) was very helpful to help us find a viable bus route down the hill (infor on a bus from Fenqihu in the morning which was not available from google web) & drove us to Fenqihu to board the bus. Really appreciate his help. And the farm never ever ask us write any review for their good service. If we were to visit Alishan again, we will definitely stay there again!

Alishan National Scenic Area is the perfect Taiwan tourist destination for a touch of nature. A number of scenic trails and hiking routes are established by its localized climate and landscape offering unique range of lush plant-life and fascinating sceneries that are always wonderful to explore. Gon-A-Kam Trail, Fenruei Trail, Fentai Trail and the famous Mt. Da Tong Trail are in Fenchihu area, where guests may simply visit while accommodating at Fenchihu Hotel. Also, the renowned sunrise views at Mt. Da Tong Peak which set 1,976 metres above sea level provides an excellent spot for sunrise and sea of clouds sceneries, and about 330 degrees panoramic views overlooking nearby tribes and forests. What is more special about the sunrise sceneries at Mt. Da Tong Peak that is the dawn here lasts longer than Alishan and sometimes even up to 3 minutes and 20 seconds! Other fascinating Fenchihu attractions include Bright Moon Cave (Min Yue Ku), Meteor Cave (Liushinyen) and The Eighteen Arhats Cave can be seen along the hiking trails for a marvelous Fenchihu travel.

Reviewed By YeoFamilyOur family of 5 stayed at Fenchihu Hotel for a night before moving up to the Alishan recreational area to watch the Chusan sunrise. At approx 1500 metres above sea level, it was good we stopped there overnight to acclimatise before embarking to Alishan at 2500 m as some family members started to have altitude sickness symptoms. The hotel is a typical old style chinese hotel ( tampering expectations is advisable ) but it has a few standout factors - it's location is unbeatable. Beside train staion n with a 7-11 attached and right beside the old street with eateries, quaint shops n close to walking trails. Fenchihu is a little town comprising probably of 2 streets n a railway station n walking trails ; but is totally charming . Their aiyu jelly n basil drink is made from fresh Aiyu fruit, n their millet mochi n freshly baked donuts were delicious. - the family room was large and they allowed an extra bed with breakfast for Twd 600 so we could all share a room. A considerable saving if one doesn't mind sharing one toilet. Room price is good too. - Reception staff are efficient and can communicate in good English. -best of all, they provide guided walking tours 3x/day absolutely free of charge. We did the firefly walk n it was magical Christnas night experience. Fenchihu has rare fireflies that may appear in winter although the best time to go is Autumn(according to guide) . The morning walk in the unpolluted chilled forest was great too. All in all, a good traditional hotel for a night's stopover with value added free tours in a charming highland town. Reccomended

Delightful and convenient place to stay
Reviewed By neschoreMy wife and I stayed at Yeashow Villa for two nights in order to hike the many beautiful trails in this area. We made the reservation on Booking.com. The Villa has an amazing location: It is located a block from the bus station and literally just steps from the train, which we took going back down on our return to Taipei. The price was very reasonable (pay in cash upon arrival). Our room was in a newer building a very short walk from the main building and was clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing! One of them took us on an impromptu evening walk to a nearby grove to see countless fireflies blinking in the dark! He also ran after us to give us an umbrella when we were caught in the rain. Recommendations for places to eat were excellent. The only glitch was that the wifi router in the new building failed, so to do internet work we went over to the main lobby. Not a big deal, and they've probably already fixed it. Very enjoyable stay, and we highly recommend it!

Reviewed By hueywencWhen we first check-in, the staff was really helpful and gave us the tour on the room and facilities. The room was clean and very spacious for our family of 5 adults. The view from the room was awesome too! Their hotpot dinner is convenient and healthy with a generous serving! After the dinner, they even have tea sharing session to talk about the tea in alishan! The breakfast was tasty and homely and they even gave us recommendations on Alishan sightseeing routes during breakfast time. The experience was great and is totally recommend!

The Yunminju is located in Shizhuo bed & breakfast community along the Alishan highway. There is a large tea garden in front of our mansion, as well as hundred acres of bamboo forest and China fir forests in the back. Going to Yunminju is like going to Arcadia; it is a happy land that you will never want to leave.Tea drinking, fig jelly DIY, and engaging in small chit-chat are fun activities to do here. You can also enjoy a quick walk in the forest or just relax in your cozy bedroom. There are also delicious, healthy meals prepared for you. You can enjoy our open-concept living room, the pavilion, the rocking chair, and the wooden tables. A stay among High Mountain Alishan tea
Reviewed By AchieThe host was a very friendly and helpful man. He picked us up from Fenchihu bus stop a little after 3:00 p.m. He also gave us a tea-making demonstration after dinner. Their tea was so excellent that we decided to buy one can of their High Mountain Tea. We felt assured that we were buying directly from the source. We stayed in one of their traditional wooden room and it was clean and cozy. The bathroom even had the Japanese-style bidet with heated toilet seat. Loved it! We had to walk a short distance from the old building to the new building. It was a nice walk with breathtaking views of rows and rows of tea plants. The B&B was very close to the Sunset trail and we walked on the trail just before sunset and witnessed the sun coming out from behind the clouds. That itself was worth the trip to Shizhao. It was a little bit cold in the room at night but it was not a big deal for us. The complimentary breakfast the following morning was good. We were also dropped off (for free) at Shizhao bus stop upon check-out for our trip up to Alishan. We were glad we stayed one night at a tea plantation. It was a very tranquil and relaxing experience. The beauty of the place was a soothing balm on our souls.

Reviewed By evershine777The room has a natural nice scent. I think it is Sandalwood - a large piece of it! TV reception is good. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. There is a great cook and there is a very diligent young chatty lady staff in keeping the place neat and tidy! We stayed for 3 nights! Shiok.

Reviewed By weiwei_sgThis is a very typical Taiwanese B&B. Decor is a little old fashioned but it's clean and the 4 person room was very spacious. The lady boss is very warm and hospitable. We spent two nights there and had dinner there too. Staying in a B&B with a restaurant attached was of great help since it rained incessantly throughout our stay and the place was covered in fog. Quite beautiful and majestic actually. The B&B is located halfway up the mountains, about 40 mins from Jhu Chi village centre and about 1.5 hours from Fengqihu. If you want to go to the Alishan National Park proper, it's another 2.5 hours.

Small Swiss Homestay is a small lodge located on the elevation of 1423 m above sea level where is in the center of greater Alishan scenic area which is 27 km (midway up to Alishan forest recreation area) from Alishan forest recreation area and 67 km from THSR Chiayi station. It is a great place for city dwellers to have a relaxing vacation here to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, fresh air, clean water, green tea plantation, moving clouds (mist), sunrise, sunset and peaceful atmosphere.

Reviewed By RebeccaSingaporeThe accommodation is very clean and cosy. Although we are not used to throwing toilet paper into waste bin instead of toilet bowl, we can understand the problem. We managed to see sunset and sunrise during our 2 nites' stay there. Only disappointment was not able to see the sea cloud. The host David brought us to some local eateries and the food was good. David took very good photos and he made us do poses that we would not have normally done. Very memorable photos. We also managed to see cherry blossom becos of the sudden warming weather. David's house has a lot of cherry blossom trees which I can imagine will be beautiful when they fully open. Highly recommended to stay.
