A small family run hotel located in a picturesque white village with spectacular views over Zahara´s lake. We have a well known restaurant open everyday for lunch and dinner, serving local produce, the cuisine is rustic with innovative touches featuring local specialities such as wild boar, pork cheeks, paellas and in summer a wide array of fish. We also have vegetarian options, daily specials, home made desserts and an extensive wine cellar. In addition to our elegant dining room and lake facing terrace, Al Lago has a comfortable bar serving drinks, tapas and baked goods all day long. All our spacious, thoughtfully decorated en-suite double bedrooms have their own balcony large beds, flat-screen satellite TV, built in wardrobes and rain showers. There is free high speed wifi and a small sun terrace for hotel guests. We have free on road parking and access is by recently asphalted road. We are surrounded by fabulous walks with the Garganta Verde and many other hikes on our doorstep.
A memorable stay
Reviewed By MVKHBeautiful room, light and airy, comfortable bed, luxurious linens, plenty of space to spread out. Lunch was excellent and beautifully served. The hosts pay attention to every detail and really care about their guests' comfort. I expected a "nice" property, but Al Lago exceeded my expectations by far.

Come for the Spectacular View
Reviewed By swirlwindIt was rated 2 stars officially but the view from the room was unbelievable! Rolling green hills goes miles away, surrounded by turquoise reservoir. The cafe/restaurant was one floor higher, from there you could see other 1 or 2 white villages in the far distance. The view was just out of this world. The hotel management was a bit unusual. And was very up front: "No English". Not French either. The front desk guy was kind and helpful to a degree. Since the WIFI was a hit-and-miss. I inquired if I could pay and use the phone on the phone booth to make an overseas call, the next thing I saw 10 minutes later: the whole phone was taken off the wall, left the wires dangling in an empty phone booth. I did not dare to ask anymore questions.

Misleading advertisement. No pool.
Reviewed By bobemamaWe stayed at the small villa for 2 persons. It was by the road beside the mill. NO POOL. NO INTERNET. On our arrival the host was not there just an employee of the mill who took payment and took us to our villa afterwards. We booked this place because of the pool, we dreamed of dipping our toes in the pool after walking all day. It was end on May beautiful sunny weather, 25 C. However we were told the pool is NOT OPEN TILL JULY. We have NOT even SEEN the pool don't know where it was. The employee spoke little English, the owner said on the phone we can not get refund even though there was no pool as advertised. We did not meet him during our 2 night stay. The house is spacious, though gloomy, with the sleeping quarters upstairs (steep stairs) the bathroom downstairs. The hot water temperature was constantly changing in the shower, the heater turning on and off. It was impossible to enjoy a proper shower. The bathtub is very small (sitting tub?) also not suitable for a tall person. The toilet tank is filling up with a slow trickle. The towels (only 2) were hidden in a cupboard UPSTAIRS. The view from the terrace is nice but the patio furniture is very basic. We were disappointed, the only accommodation we would not recommend on our road trip of 2 weeks, all the other places turned out lovely. The town in May is a sleepy village with most places still closed on a May week-end. Next time we would rather stay in Grazalema or Benamahoma. The walk up to the castle on top of the hill is very nice, beautiful views.

Different but worth a visit
Reviewed By sam bThis is really 4 apartments with a central shared, living area. It is clean, compact and full of character. The breakfast is very comprehensive and covers all tastes. We stayed in Nov - very warm and homely. Easy to park on the roadway. Bedrooms very clean but a little tight on size. Good value

The century-old typical Andalusian style farmhouse has been restored sensitively, while preserving its original features. Reviewed By Aaron BIf you are looking for a relaxing getaway at an incredibly creative, quiet, and gorgeous location, look no further. A wonderful family run B&B in a beautiful part of Spain. You can choose to have dinners prepared or to use the amazing kitchen that comes with your rental. Great for families with young kids. There are three bedrooms that can be rented separately or you can, like we did, rent the entire place out. Tastefully and artfully decorated throughout. This isn't a five-star luxury hotel, so don't come expecting T.V.'s and the like. But if you're like us and enjoy a warm welcome and a down-to-earth spot, this is your place.

Reviewed By Max GAmazing little place. Fantastic food and friendly staff. If you would like to connect with nature and relax you can’t go wrong. The whole team make you feel extremely welcome! We stayed for two nights and wished we had stayed longer. The surrounding area is breathtaking and the Cabaña Robinson is a cosy home away from home. I literally have no complaints. If you’re vegan or not, go to Finca Vegana.
