Reviewed By 800jeaWe overnighted at this property on our way back from Florida. I would rate the accommodations adequate. The room was a bit "used", but clean. The cabinet that housed the refrigerator was broken, as was the cover on the AC unit. Neither of these issues affected our stay, though. The tissue box in the bathroom only had 3-4 tissues, which was not enough. The ice machine on our floor also was broken. Supposedly due to COVID, the breakfast was no longer self-serve. A staff member was positioned to serve guests. There were several guests waiting to place their orders at 6:30am, so we passed on the free breakfast and stopped at a fast food place instead...

Dirty band aid on shower curtain
Reviewed By jlnladkinsI was so looking forward to a nice hot shower, after a long day traveling. I was disgusted to find a used, dirty band aid on the inside of the shower curtain, once I stepped into the tub and closed it. Yuck. This just screams of a total lack of attention to detail by the housekeeping staff and whoever inspects the rooms. We won’t be back.

Don't Do It!

We decided to stay here as it is the halfway point from our home in Ohio and Surfside Beach, South Carolina and to try to cut our drive up a little. Never again. I would rather drive in the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia in the torrential downpour and in the dark as I did than stay here. Within 30 seconds of walking in our musty smelling room, I pulled the shower curtain to 2 cockroaches crawling on it. We immediately called the front desk and someone came up. An elderly gentleman came up and gave the explanation of--and I am not very far off what he said here--"Gee, we have never had that complaint before." I'm not sure even what to do." Um, by your lack of a reaction, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you have, many times. He explained they were completely booked for the night and didn't have 2 other rooms to remove our 3 teenagers and us to. The rooms were disgusting and in need of a deep clean. The nightstand beside my bed had gum with hair strands in it that were just waving in the windstorm that the poor air conditioning unit puts out. Our boys were equally disgusted with their room that was located across the hall from us. Their carpet felt damp and gross, they refused to use the stained linens and towels. The next morning upon checkout, our complaints were met in the cat urine smelling front desk area (definitely a cat as they have bowls outside the doors of milk and cat food) to blank stares. We will never stay here again. The cost was not worth the 2 hours of sleep I received wondering what every noise and movement was. Never again.

Hotel was a dog kennel!
Reviewed By Mary DWe were told this hotel only allowed service dogs and specific rooms were designated for that purpose. This was also displayed on a sign near the check in desk. We confirmed this with the front desk. When we got to our room it reeked of dog and all connected with one. I went to the front desk and was informed “nobody pays any attention to that.Dog owners take their animals anywhere they want to. The place smelled like a nursing home, with cheap cleaners to hide odors. Thank God we only had to spend one night there. The people who do the booking should be informed of policies and how they are not followed. This way the are not giving false information to travelers. They are most helpful and we trust them. Thank you.

Reviewed By kravmaguffinOn our way to Myrtle Beach and Wytheville was our halfway point so we stopped for the evening. Hotel was very nice, clean and had a pretty good breakfast. What really stood out was the fantastic service, particularly Scott at the front desk. After a long day of driving having someone who is friendly and super helpful was just what we needed.

Don't stay here, dirty out dated sketchy
Reviewed By dkostl178108We needed a place to stop on a long road trip, it was a holiday weekend so probably busier than usual, booked what I could find on a third party booking. We got there and were horrified, tried to cancel but couldn’t. Saw 3 rooms, all were filthy, disgusting carpets that weren’t even vacuumed, mold on the alls of the bathrooms, we had to pick the best of the 3 which reeked of weed. Outside was equally bad garbage and junk laying around stairwell cracked and. The lobby looked like someone’s unkept, messy living room. Dont know who ones this should be ashamed, We stopped at Travelodge on the way back that was only $15 more, and what you would expect from this level of hotel, nothing fancy but clean, safe, kept. Cheap shouldn’t me filthy.

Choice quality is not what it use to be!

Charging 160.00 per night for a shabby run-down building with full sized beds, mattress with wire coil spring in it. Old fixtures and door frames, some patches, and some finishing touches that looked like a 5 year old did them. A tub that holds water while you take a shower and the shower rod drooping and shower curtain falling open. And the last but not the least, a noisy air conditioner that kept me up . Did all this make you think that I would visit the front office to see what they would do about this? Yes, I did, and they wrote some something down and did not compensate anything for my troubles. The room was not worth it, and I have learned that Choice is more of a slum lord than anything else! Disappointed in your quality and what you allow your franchisees to charge for that crap. This will not happen to me again. Dan
