Amazing heritage hotel... every room has a little balcony, the hotel is decorated with beautiful lead lights and the owner Robert was amazing in telling us about the history of this Victorian style hotel. Super centrally located near the station, cafes etc, but easy to find on street (timed, free) parking. And the hotel is hidden away from the Pacific Highway traffic in a little heritage piece of bushland with gorgeous birds waking you up!

Reviewed By Nayeemi102Booked the apartment for 3 adults - 1 double bed and one sofa bed. Sofa bed was only metal springs covered by bed sheet - couldn't sleep the whole night. Next day when we complained, housekeeping brought couple of quilts to cover the springs. Not real mattress. Awful bed for the third adult. Not booking there again.

Reviewed By V281ONrebeccarIt's become routine for hotels to take a card imprint for incidentals/mini bar and the same is true at the Mantra - but it's n this hotel's case they take a $50 pending transaction. No if's. No buts. Even if your accommodation is booked and paid for. It's for "incidentals" apparently. The foyer is neat and tidy but when you get to the accommodation floors you're hit with that apartment living smell of too much cooking in small rooms with little ventilation. Rooms are comfortable and you can open the doors / windows if you want the constant hum of trains. Once settled you might feel like a wine or beer or softie ... one of those incidentals for which you've laid down a $50. Thing is the fridge and mini bar is bare! Turns out the incidentals are not incidentals- it's a bond. In case you damage the room. Turns out the Mantra is host to guests who damage their rooms and deposit is non negotiable. Actually if you didn't have a credit card with you you'd be refused your prepaid room. Welcome weary traveller. No dine in menu, no breakfast bar. This is basic level Accor. Don't waste your free night here!

There was rubbish in the bin from a previous stay, the balcony was prized shut with a block of wood and scaffolding on the balcony - i wasn't advised of work being done, the bed was broken and if you sat on the edge you ended up on the floor, the bathroom had a airvent patched with sticky tape, my internet didn't work and i had to ask twice for a code, there was no one on reception when I left.

The Bridgeview Hotel offers recently refurbished pub-style accommodation in Willougby, just 7km from Sydney CBD and close to public transport, there's plenty of street parking around the pub too. No lift in the building, if you are traveling with heavy bags you have to carry the and climb stairs.

We phoned the place as we were travelling because there was no immediate booking facility on the site. The person on the phone was difficult to understand (I asked him to repeat the price three times and he kept saying “normal price is $140 but...” and I couldn’t catch the “but” part. When we arrived it was $170 for one night. The parking is very tight, and the room was pretty awful. It smelt like there’s a moisture problem and the kitchen was very poorly equipped (there was only one mug and not enough glasses etc.) and a bit grotty. The sofa bed, which my eldest son slept on, looked grimy and was uncomfortable. There were broken drawers, cupboards and shower screen. The tv didn’t work and soon after settling in we saw a small cockroach creep out from under the microwave. Our room was at the front and we could hear traffic noise as well as people in the other rooms moving about. Luckily we arrived late and left the next morning so we didn’t have stay for too long. :-/

But I feel so strongly about how dirty and disgusting this place is that I have to right a review after so long! Upon coming here the staff were very rude and unwelcoming (both Asian one girl and a guy). I was given my key and not explained anything about facilities; where the bathroom was, kitchen area, social area etc. When I asked questions they just gave me dirty looks and ignored me with yes yes answers. I was given my room and was on the first floor in a 10 dorm bunk room. I know hostels offer basics but this room was nasty, disgusting and smelt so terrible! There was dirty stuff all over the floor and on beds everywhere. No sheets on the bed (or given to me), only stained smelly pillows! There was brown stains all over the mattress and writing all over the walls. The room was occupied by long term stayers that had their dirty soiled stuff everywhere! All over the wall was marks and brown stains it was seriously shocking! I asked for a room change and they had said they had nothing available, I get what I pay for and just ignored me and said I can talk to the owner (someone called Rambo). I asked for a refund and they said they could only give me a night free in the same dirty room! I was thinking are you being for real? They were so rude, aggressive and thought that the room standard was okay. I couldn’t even comprehend what was happening, I was that shocked! Anyhow I rang this guy called Rambo again and again with no answer. So I ending up staying somewhere else! This place is a total and utter joke! Purely disgusting with a horrid smell with brown marks all over the place, accompanied with rude and aggressive staff! I warn you...do not stay here this place is disease ridden, you will catch something from here seriously!
