Reviewed By gramer999You know as soon as you arrive that Hotel de La Jamagne is going to deliver on its promises. Professional and friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Our room was large, clean, perfectly decorated, with all sanitary fittings in perfect working order. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were properly cleaned every day. Breakfasts offered both hot and cold choices. I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel de La Jamagne to anybody when staying in the region.

Reviewed By gramer999From the outside, Hotel Cosmos in Contrexéville looks like Stalag 13. On the inside, it's a bit like one of the grand old hotels of Eastern Europe during the Soviet era. It has the feel of a tired old lady who needs some considerable makeup! The first view a visitor has of it is a massive dull, grey, concrete block. A coat of paint wouldn't go astray! Inside, the carpets in the public areas - stairs and (very long) corridors - are badly stained and need replacing. In the room, we suffered from clanking water pipes all night. There wasn't even a headboard on the bed - someone had just pained a black rectangle on the wall. The fitted sheet didn't fit. The pillows were tiny and lumpy. Not very inspirational. The restaurant was clean and more modern, but the serving staff were indifferent. Not unpleasant - just disinterested like they couldn't wait to go home. The food was okay, and that's about the best I can say!

A wonderful place
Reviewed By TravelerC_13I surprised my girlfriend with a night in a Chalet with Jacuzzi and she was just open-mouthed (positively!) and so was I. The details of the Chalet were very lovely and the people really friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will surely come back. We can only recommend! We enjoyed a diner which was good. The breakfast is rather small, to be honest, but it has everything. But most hotels in which I stayed had more variety and a bigger selection of breakfast products. The only thing which I really critise: Compared to another hotel, you can check in reguarly very late, at 4:00 (!!!!) pm and have to check out early (11 am) - compared to other hotels. If you want to check in earlier you have to pay an extra fee by hour. But I mean that is a management decision and as customer I can either accept this term or not. But this point will not stop me of going back again to this bijoux.

Waste of time ánd money. The property is glory passed by. It needs a thorough refurbishment. It doesn’t R&C membership.

The road in front of the property produces an enormous amount of noise. The restaurant food (breakfast included) is less than moderate. The loss of the Michelin Star was to be expected.

Located in the heart of the city but within a short walking distance from the lake, this hotels has all you need : outdoor swimming pool (heated) gardens, free parking, spa space, 3 restaurants, 2 bars.... Thanks to the reception for the nice upgrade with a room with view park, it has been much appreciated :-) This hotel breaths a kind of "Grand Hotel" as you can probably find in Biarritz & Deauville. Great menu at the restaurant "Le coq à l'âne", a drink on the terrace in the evening and everything was perfect. So, a nice place to discover or (re)discover

Reviewed By AlsacienneWe were gifted an overnight with dinner and breakfast, with use of the spa. This is a delightful hotel, tucked into a forest clearing in the Vosges mountains. The bedroom was compact but spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a delightful view. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, not least to meet the animals - four goats, a donkey and a baby deer. There are deckchairs in sunny nooks, mature trees and plenty of peaceful spots to relax in. Our dinner was a four-course delight, with a glass of wine appropriate to each course. Breakfast was varied and copious with high-class local ingredients. The spa has a decent-sized swimming pool with a variety of sauna possibilities and a small but relaxing jacuzzi overlooking the forest. Swimming towels, bathrobes and slippers are provided, and there are plenty of sun loungers both inside the rest area and outside on the terrace. Although this hotel is not an 'adults only' establishments, I would not recommend it for youngsters as there is nothing for them to do in the way of entertainment or play equipment. It's a lovely place for adults to relax and be well taken care of. The staff are very friendly and competent. A thoroughly professional management and kitchen team. We particularly enjoyed our welcome from Yasmine and our service in the restaurant from Louis, and it is good to see that the hotel participates in training the next generation of hospitality staff. This hotel provides a very polished and professional service and I cannot wait to enjoy a moment of peace and pampering here again! Thank you all so much.

The village is rather calm and hiking trails are close by (a few minutes drive). Copious and very tasty breakfast buffet (pastries, yogurt, bread, crêpes, and more)! Face masks required when walking through the hotel.

Superb hotel on quiet location with very friendly staff and a excellent restaurant.
Reviewed By Willem BWe asked for a quiet room and this request was fully met. We received a room at the end of a ground floor corridor, where no other guests would pass. Between the door to the corridor and the bedroom is a hall with bathroom and WC, so there are two doors between the bedroom and the corridor of the hotel. The air condition worked well and was easy to control. We switched it off, since the room had shutters outside the window, so we could keep the window open. Even with open window, there was little noise from outside. A good thing is the WC, separated from the bathroom. We had a great dinner for 22 euro pp. The chef has talent if he is able to serve such a tasty and well presented three courses dinner for that price. No wonder that most guests decided to have dinner in the hotel! We did not use the Spa and other facilities in the hotel. The batteries of the remote control for the TV were corroded. After mentioning it to the reception they were replaced. The location of the hotel is ideal for travellers, close to the highway. If you want to see the centre of Épinal, however, you will need to drive. The hotel is located in an industrial (economic) zone, but it's still possible to have a nice walk in the environment. Opposite the hotel is an ALDI for all your groceries (or a half bottle of wine) and in 3 minutes walk your reach a nice bakery where you can have breakfast with a croissant and coffee or tea (If you are not in for an extensive buffet).
