Very Disappointing

Reviewed By Q7250FZvickyw

Our stay here was not good. On the third day of our stay, we called to request housekeeping. We said that we would be out all day so they could do it at any time that was convenient. We left around 9:30am and returned at 4:30pm. Housekeeping had not come. We called to request new towles, they brought one new set, not enough for both of us. The ice machine was broken and the response from staff was to suggest we wander around the adjoining building to try theirs. Ultimately staff ended up retrieving the ice from the kitchen of the restaurant which was very much appreciated. Lastly, the toiletries were in dispensers in the shower. Something about them was off. Upon further investigation, both the shampoo and conditioner containers were filled with conditioner and the body wash container was filled with shampoo (image attached). These are all details that really should be fixed by management. We would be hard pressed to stay at this property again.

Excellent service

Awesome service on this visit! The front desk clerk sorted out a problem with our reservation, worked with housekeeping to get our room ready early, and accommodated a switch due to an HVAC issue - all in the busy week leading up to Syracuse graduation. The rooms have been refreshed since our last stay here and were very clean. Still not enough towel bars or hooks in the bathroom for more than 1 person but fortunately there are hooks in the room. (With housekeeping upon request during the stay, you need somewhere to hang your towel for re-use.) Breakfast was busy but sufficiently stocked. Easy drive to Syracuse campus and Westcott area, and also convenient to Cazenovia.

Suitable stay for concert weekend

Reviewed By maya_elizabeth

We visited Syracuse for the first time for a concert at the Carrier Dome. The hotel was in a good location - close walk to some good cafes and restaurants and also close enough walk to the stadium. While there wasn’t anything to rave about, the hotel had friendly staff and met our needs. Room was spacious with conveniences of mini fridge and small microwave, free parking was convenient and there was a decent, small gym. The room wasn’t spotless when we arrived and it looked tired and could use a refresh (eg light not working; peeled paint; etc). That said, the stay was comfortable enough.

Tough But Honest Review-Terrible

Reviewed By bcsorc

I have never written such a bad review of a hotel, but must. This hotel is dirty, has very limited services, and not friendly. Area of Syracuse is dangerous and cars drive around with very loud music coming from their speakers almost all night. Hallways and elevators are dirty. Bedroom and linens were dirty. Bathroom was the same, old and dirty with broken tiles on the floor. Room came with just 2 towels for both of us, and was told there would be NO maid service. I could keep going about the toilet paper, etc. Had to beg for more towels. The front door to the hotel is always locked. Give you an idea of the area. I would recommend avoided.

False advertisement and poor customer service!!!!!

Reviewed By 680tinaf

Does anyone give good service anymore? This hotel advertises shuttles to and from hotel. My husband got stranded in airport and had to call a cab and pay a ridiculous amount of money to get back to his car. The reason we paid and stayed there. He even called them before his return flight left to tell them what time he would be landing and they said to just call from the airport and they would have a shuttle there. This was in the middle of the day. They called when they landed at a little before noon and they said they had no one to shuttle and they could just catch an Uber or cab. Wow!!! Ridiculous! False advertisement and horrible customer service

Decent option, but weird experience

Reviewed By 20harveym

This hotel is a renovated synagogue, but don’t expect architectural wonders - it is like a Hampton Inn shoved inside an historic building. Not bad, mind you, but seems like a wasted opportunity. On the upside, a decent free continental breakfast and a nice outside patio. But, I had weird experience. I agreed to no housekeeping during my short stay, but one evening I returned to room to discover the television on and the thermostat at a different setting than I left it. It was as if someone came to my room to watch television while I was gone. I went to the front desk to question and complain, but they had no explanation and were not willing to address my concerns by moving me. So, will not stay here again.

Late Checkout Disappointment

Reviewed By slinder101884

While the hotel was nice, and staff was nice, it was a bit frustrating that they couldn’t honor a late checkout request even after I had status that offers priority late checkout. I understand they had large groups coming in, but I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t extend the checkout one hour. I travel to this town quite a bit and had planned to make this my new hotel when I visit, but I won’t be staying here again.
