Historic hotel in swiss style architechture
Reviewed By Inger SYou feel like you enter into someones home when arriving in this historic hotel. The owners are present at all times and they are so, so passionate about this place and they alway stop by and talk to the guests. The hotel is charmingly old, but well renovated, keeping it old-fashoined. We had a large room with a huge bathroom and a balcony. Very comfortable. There is a patio/terrace along the front of the main bulding and this is a perfect spot having a night cap. The breakfast was very good and covid-19 rules was taken care of. We had dinner in the large dining room our last night and the three-course meal was excellent. Highly recommended.

Worst service ever - don’t come here
Reviewed By H-WaldorfWe booked the big apartment (80 squares meters) with Mountain View and 2 bedroom. When we arrived we got an apartment with only one bedroom and only 40 squared meters. Nobody told us before , this situation is totally unacceptable. As all was full there was not possibility to go to any other place.

Reviewed By alain7772019The staff was not available after 20:00. Disappeared. There were 6 glasses, but not the advertised coffee machine or kettle, the promised view of the river, was, hmmmm, not there as you can see in the photo. The bed smelled.... Try to find another hotel.

Folven Camping is a great place to be. Relax in the beautiful green valley, Hjelledalen with loads of fresh air and friendly people. Folven is the campsite nearest to Stryn Summerski and has trough the years become a natural hang-out for ski - and snowboard enthusiasts from all over the world. Talk story at the after ski, play in the skateboardpark or relax on the lawn. Folven has a unique atmosphere - welcome to us!
Lack of maintenance!
Reviewed By Roger HAll of Folven Camping facilities suffer from serious lack of maintenance. The cabins are in a poor state, both the buildings it self and interior. Service building are dirty and very cramped. I would look for another place to spend the night, it's not worth it.

Reviewed By alongtheroadBeautiful view of the water with a huge waterfall on the mountain right across from our cabin. Nice and clean and quiet. There is a even a small beach area that would be nice for small children. Beautiful area for a stop on the way to more popular Geiranger.

High-standard cabin in Veslebygda. Beautifully located on the shore of Strynevatnet lake. Opportunities for fishing and swimming. Quiet and peaceful area. Views of the Jostedalsbreen National Park, waterfalls and mountains. A good base for walks in the mountains and on nature trails in Flostranda.
Dream vacation in the fjord area of Norway

My family in Chicago came to visit us for the first time in Norway and to me, the best way to show Norway to them is to bring them to Dalsnibba, Geiranger fjord, Plattingen (viewpoint of Trollstigen Road), Loen Skylift and Stryn in their 6 days stay in Norway. They felt in love with the location of the cabin right away. Down by a lake surrounded by tall mountains. My nieces made use of the trampoline. They even dared to take a swim in the lake on a windy day but they realized fast that it was not a good idea. Very cold indeed but I just let them see it for themselves. While we were on holiday, the weather was very nice. Sunny all the time. Since we drove from Oslo, we ordered that the beds are prepared upon our arrival and ordered cleaning of the cabin instead of us doing it upon our departure. It was worth paying the extra fee. It took us 8 hours from Oslo to the location of the cabin to drive as we had a number of stops along the way (stopping for breaks and taking pictures of the beautiful nature). Loen Skylift is very close about 30 min to drive while Geiranger fjord was less than 2 hours. The owners were very kind and the mom was the one I talked with most of the time. I would like to come back here. They also have a cabin for 2 to 4 people only. Magical place. To buy food, the town of Stryn is about 10-15 min to drive. I am very glad my guests were very happy with the cabin and the location. I hope their memories of the fjord trip will stay in their memory for a very long time.
