Has a new restaurant, but not an outside bar or rooftop what it would be great to relax after a day of work. The bar is beautiful but inside a restaurant and there is nothing at the pool/jacuzzi side. Overall the staff makes up for the other missing things.

Reviewed By cpgrnWe really enjoyed this extremely clean and friendly hotel. Everything was wonderful and the amenities at The Hollander were perfect. We have stayed at the Hollander before but they were full. This was a wonderful alternative. We had dinner and breakfast at the Hollander (right next door) and enjoyed the rest of the evening in our comfortable room.

Reviewed By dgilioBooked this hotel primarily because it was ranked #4 out of 49 hotels in St. Pete on Trip Advisor. Location is not great as it is in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Breakfast was typical for a Holiday Inn Express. The hotel however is not well maintained. There was mold in ceiling the bathroom, the toilet paper roll holder was missing one of the bars to hold it in place (with holes in the wall were it previously had been attached), the shaving mirror was rusted and did not extend. The hallways leading to a from the elevators looked like they had not been mopped in days and were streaked with dirt (I am guessing people tracking in dirt and water from the pool area?) Worst of all, there was fecal matter on the half-wall adjacent to the toilet. We reported this to the lady at the front desk, who expressed her embarrassment. She did not offer to send someone the clean the area and offered no additional accommodation. Have stayed at IHG properties across the country and this is by far my worst experience.

Reviewed By kimbuktuWe love Hyatt and this one did not disappoint. Typical Hyatt Place layout/furnishing and very clean. I had read some reviews regarding noise complaints, but our 2 year old had no trouble falling and staying asleep (we were on the 9th floor). Every staff member we bumped into, greeted us warmly. Operated like a tightly knit family who took pride in their work. Really added to our positive experience. Being able to park our car in the garage ($18/day) was very convenient, and we ended up walking everywhere due to the central location. Complimentary hot breakfast in the morning, to hold you over until all the brunch places open later in the day :) Can't wait until our next trip back!

Reviewed By Tina HHotel is fine, and, yes, it's nice to stay in a one-of-a-kind. Just a few things to keep in mind: a) I contacted the hotel via email prior to my arrival and asked for a quite room. Never heard back. After my arrival, I re-sent the email, but, again, never heard back. b) My request for a quiet room was not honored. We had the loudest room in the entire building: third floor overlooking the major intersection. (Yes, I brought this up immediately after check-in, but nothing could be done.) c) Our check-in and check-out were handled without any personal interaction. We received a text message with instructions for check-in and were instructed to leave a card (found in the room) on our way out. We never spoke to anyone from the hotel in the 3 days that we were there (outside of my initial request after check-in for a quiet room). d) Breakfast has very limited choices (same every day) and food is delivered to the room. Guests need to get their own coffee and juice from the ground floor to complete their breakfast. e) None of the windows can be opened.

Reviewed By polydor618This is a nice hotel in an excellent location on Beach Drive, walking distance to restaurants, cafes, St Pete's lovely waterfront. The service was friendly and prompt and rooms were clean and comfortable (except that, oddly, there was no fan in the bathroom... unexpected for a three-star...). We stayed in a suite with a terrace facing the water. Very nice. It was high season (weddings, graduations, etc.) so prices were high. I had to check in with work a few times while there and was stunned to learn that they do not offer a secure internet connection. There is a business center off the lobby (essentially one desk) but it does not provide the privacy or convenience of working from the rooms. I was told that "no one's complained" about the insecure connection; the manager believed that inserting name and room number secures the connection—it does not . As someone who does a fair amount of traveling, I've never stayed at a hotel (whether budget or high end) that does not offer secure complimentary wifi to its guests. (They describe theirs as a "standard" connection—in fact it's atypical.) This should be made clear. If you don't mind putting your personal and workplace data at risk with the most minimally talented teenage hacker, disregard—otherwise, a nice, comfortable hotel.
