The Henry Resort Taramindu Laiya

The Henry Resort Taramindu Laiya is my soon-to-be-opened boutique and destination resort in Laiya Beach in San Juan, Batangas. Taramindu was named after a huge tamarind tree in the middle of the resort and is believed to be over 100 years old. My new home will have 16 rooms with an airy and tropical vibe. I also prepared exciting features at my resort for you to have a #LikeNoOther experience: Beachside cabanas, Seaview Deck Lounge with workstations, Bar, and Cocktails at the Seaview Deck Lounge, Restaurant by Apartment 1B, The Honest Henry, Outdoor Pool with sun loungers. Soon you can enjoy your well-deserved R&R away from the mundane city life and experience a sense of privacy and exclusivity with the white sandy beachfront of the resort. Your quick beach escape awaits you. I can't wait to have you visit!

Good boutique resort with great food

Reviewed By Kristine A

Pros: 1. Great service from front desk, housekeeping (who also helped with first aid), parking attendant, lifeguard/beach maintenance and waitstaff at Apartment 1B 2. Good and reasonably priced food from Apartment 1B 3. Well-maintained beachfront with adequate gazebos and beach wooden mats for seating 4. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, cold aircon and warn shower water Cons: 1. No Globe signal and weak wifi signal in some parts 2. Small studio room, no TV 3. Small pool which can get crowded, small pool deck too 4. Ground floor rooms are close to the common areas/pool so less privacy 5. Beachfront, though well maintained, is beside the public area and boat docking area. So beachfront is not quiet or private. 6. Beach water is not very clean. Overall, The Henry is a good boutique resort in Laiya. Our son had a great time here, so we are grateful for the experience. Book for at least 2 nights, ideally 3 nights, given travel time from Manila (3hours). We will likely be back.

Laiya Grande White Beach Resort

Dismayed Family Trip!

Reviewed By Apoltea16

We stayed here just this May 2022. The staff were polite and very accommodating, we commend them for it. But the resort — not well maintained. Their room is not worth the value of your money. We have our own bathroom but we have to use the common shower areas because the water pressure in our bathroom is very weak. The shower is not working also but there's a pail and a dipper (I don't know for others but for me it's very unhygienic since you never know how others used the pail and dipper). We even have to improvise because the faucets in the bathroom and kitchen are attached very closely to the wall so the water tends to spill on the wall not on the pail or the sink. The flooring has a very worn out linoleum which detaches every time someone walks on it and that's why you can also feel the sand all over the room no matter how many times we swept it using the broom. Be mindful also of the flies, it's all over the place. It's a good thing also that we always bring mosquito repellants (the one plugged into the sockets) because there are lots of mosquitos. Per their ads, noise is not allowed after 10pm but unfortunately this is not followed. It's over-crowded also knowing that it's pandemic, maybe because it's summer season but the thing is, shouldn't there still be crowd-control? Now, for the beach, it's very dirty, lots of grass and trash floating around, the water is so brown (a mud-like color) that you can't see anything underwater even with goggles. The water is very murky. We even bite the very expensive island hopping just to get to a clear and clean ocean water. All in all, we felt scammed because their facebook photos and advertisements are very very very far from the one we saw when we arrived there.

Worst Place to Stay in San Juan, La Union

Reviewed By kyapjoco

I booked directly with the manager of the hotel for a premium room for two with a double bed at Php 2,500 per night a week before my scheduled trip. After sending them a photo of my deposit the manager didn't bother replying to confirm so I had to call the front desk because apparently the manager isn't always at the property. Management and front line personnel were not aligned and I should have taken this as a sign of things to come. Upon arriving at the property they asked for the other half of the payment and told us that they recently changed their price to Php 2,700 per night at the beginning of July. I clarified with the front desk person that we agreed it was Php 2,500 per night and that the manager should have known that they increased the rates. The front desk honoured the agreed price after showing the email exchange and we paid Php 2,500. When we got to our rooms we found out that they gave us a premium room for two with two single beds instead of a double bed. I complained to the manager by calling him at 2 AM so they upgraded us to a better room with a double bed. The room is basic with no closet, it was dusty inside, there was a dead fly swatted on the wall, and there was a piece of leftover soap in the bathroom from the previous guest. The building is located along the highway so one can hear the noise from honking buses, karaoke in the wee hours of the morning and thumping music from the nightclub in the second floor of the same building. I don't recommend staying in this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in San Juan, La Union.
