Turns out my reservation was hi jacked by a bunch of internet pirates from getaroom.com. Beware; they jack up the price and keep the points. When arriving at the hotel, I was greeted by professional, friendly, and accommodating staff. When I asked for a larger room, it was given without an up charge or a question; just outstanding customer service. The room was spacious and appealing. My wife maintained that it smelled like mold but I couldn’t verify that. Location was convenient to Mackinac Island ferries. Breakfast was top notch. Room was serviced without a request; not common these days. Pool was good, although the spa was down. Overall a good choice. I have been a loyal Hilton guest for years. Based on this experience I will give more consideration to Holiday Inn hotels moving forward.

We didn't interact with too many staff members, but the ones we did were kind and helpful and CHEERY!!! I felt that our entire stay was clean, safe, comfortable and overall enjoyable.

Reviewed By Jessica RAbsolutely loved our stay here! Hotel is old but getting updated. Staff was very friendly. Every room has a balcony looking out to Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. Beautiful beach, play area for kids, hammocks, kayaks. We booked our next stay quickly after leaving! Looking forward to coming back!

Great Hotel on the Water
Reviewed By ccdouglaThis was my second time staying on the property for the Great Turtle Half Marathon on Mackinac Island. The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, and up-to-date. The rooms have balconies that open to a beautiful view of the water. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the bridge and ferry docks. I had a great stay and restful night's sleep before knocking-out 13.1 miles on Mackinac Island. I love the Straits and Mackinac Island, and look forward to staying at this hotel when I return to the area.

Nice Overall, Could Use Updating

Check-in was a bit chaotic which, if you’ve read any of our other reviews, is a huge pet peeve. After a long road trip, the last thing we want to deal with is hassles and delays with check-in. Once we did finally get checked-in and into our room, it was fine. I paid extra for a jetted tub and though it was a bit cheesy looking (see photo), it was THE BEST jetted tub I’ve ever used. With many powerful jets placed in the right places, it was the perfect remedy for my aching back after a very long drive. The room was relatively large and comfortable, though a bit dated. Overall, though, other than the check-in, it was perfect for what we needed it for. -The Power Trippers

Reviewed By packerbeerSo, it was easy to find, and they offer free transportation to to boats to get to Mackinaw, and free transportation for the casino (provided by the casino and boat company). Casino offers $10 free per night you stay. Not much, but better than nothing. Checking in was slow, but the folks were nice. Did not use the pool or hot tub though would have nice if it would be centrally located. Did not want to go over the whole campus to get to it. On to the rooms, they are rustic in comparison to major brands. It is clean, though much dated. Bed was okay, nice pillows, they did not go flat when you put your head on it. Controlling the temp was a whole other story. Set for 70 and I am not joking when I tell you we were sweating bullets. Turned it down to 50 and was still toasty. Had to run the A/C (in October) Good water pressure on the shower, though dated. and chair in room was low to sit in. Channel selection on the tv was well, odd. not much to chose from. No alarm clock in the room. Price was good, and the go breakfast was okay. Got a cinnamon roll, pre packaged, water, apple and piece of cheese. someday maybe things will go back to normal. Would probably stay again if in the area.
