Good value accommodation in a handy location

A great location on the water’s edge. Free parking on the site with a lift available to access the 3 floors. Just a short walk to restaurants and cafes, the Port Central Shopping Centre and the Glasshouse Theatre. A lovely pool & spa area with towels provided at reception, a grassed picnic/bbq area and bikes available for free hire. The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable with views of the river from the small balcony. The kitchenette included a bar fridge, microwave and cutlery/crockery for 2 people. A good quality free wifi connection also available.

Best Motor Inn I've stayed in for over a decade

Reviewed By Saxon G

Had passed through Port a week earlier and stayed in a 'proper' hotel which was rubbish and $50 a night dearer so expectations were low but El Paso was terrific. Normal looking motel from outside but it's been full re-done internally. Really clean, good quality linen, lady on counter was lovely. It's actually better than most proper hotels I've stayed in (I travel a lot) and I'd definitely stay here again. It's perfectly central and if I holidayed in Port with the family I'd just book here with a bigger room. Really good!!

Too short

Reviewed By Siale H

Our stay was for two nights. But way too short but one thing. I must say the checking in at 14:00 is way too late or any hotel for that matter. Especially if you’re paying for a premium room. If your to stay for two days, it should be a total of 24 hrs. It’s the only down side to staying. Otherwise our room was amazing. Checking in was great and easy. We will be looking at returning again. But hoping for an early check in to make it worthwhile.

2.5-3 star, not 4 star! If you get one of their unrepaired, unrenovated brick wall Executive Queen rooms

Reviewed By chamellephoto

I was pretty disappointed with our stay here given their rather high prices and after reading all these wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor. I have stayed in Best Western hotels all over the world and were always been impressed. This hotel (motel) is rated 4 stars except I don't see what is 4 stars about it? That it has a pool and a restaurant? Neither of which we used. We could not use the pool as the water was not heated. In fact we never saw anybody ever using it during our entire 3 night stay there. . After looking at the photos again I think it really depends which room you get. Out of the 72 photos of theirs posted here only 2-3 show the old, unrenovated rooms with the brick walls (which we got). . Despite having stayed at many 3 star motels which had microwaves included, at this supposed 4 star motel I had to ask for one. They were nice enough to provide one so the service was good, but it did not come standard with our room (only the bigger, renovated, more expensive, non-brick wall rooms get them I guess). The photos on booking.com for their 'Executive Queen room' are completely misleading as we did not have a kitchen sink/benchtop, microwave, luggage rack/shelf, nor a desk. I will be notifying booking.com about this too. . Our room was very run down with mould in the shower, rust/chipping paint on the wall, and a towel rack which fell down on me while I was getting my towel off it as it was not securely properly. The plastic hook rack at the back of the door was broken and unusable, the carpet was worn at the edges, the sink tap heads had disgusting crap embedded in them, the hand rail at the bottom of the stairs outside our room had an end cap missing leaving a sharp metal edge protruding right around the height of our toddler... The shower area has absolutely nowhere to put our own shampoo bottles etc. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper provided for 2 adults staying 3 nights. . We had no outdoor space, table or chairs, and no drying racks to dry our swimwear and towels etc after going to the beach (which seems quite common for other motels/hotels located near the beach). . They do not clean every day (or at all until after we leave) and don't even take our the rubbish either. I had to ask specifically for them to come and collect our rubbish since we had dirty nappies in it. There are no bathrobes, slippers or in room safes supplied. No laundry facilities. No town maps provided. Again, I'm still baffled what warrants this 4 star rating? . Finally, the mattress moves/shakes so much.. every time my partner moved in the middle of the night it felt like there was an earthquake and he said the same of me (even though I'm far from being a big person). I would wake up every hour of the night. . The only overall good thing I can say is that the service was good and the place was clean, also that we were not given a roadside room which meant it was quieter.. but given the price (I guess we're partially paying for the upkeep of their pool which we don't even get to use) and 4 star rating I'm not impressed at all. I wished I had booked a different place.

VERY DISAPPOINTING

Reviewed By Brad M

5 years ago my wife & I found this gem & had such a fun time here, nothing was any trouble. The GM would sit with us and have a beer, he would be serving in the restaurant for breakfast helping the staff & making sure that everyone was happy We were looking forward to a nice getaway and seeing some of the staff BUT to our shock & dismay, it was under NEW MANAGEMENT !!!! Where do I start, showers had no hot water so we were told to shower around 1 o'clock when the tank had refilled, the mattress was lumpy, rooms were like walking back into the '60s, certainly not a Boutique Motel On Tuesday night we had dinner at the restaurant, I asked for some oysters but they had none BUT THE HASTINGS RIVER IS ABOUT 100 meters away ..give me a wet suit & I will get my own. Today was the last day when I tried to shower & it was ICY COLD so when my wife & I had breakfast a young waitress named Zara was very sympathetic & she comped our breakfast & was instrumental so the front desk would refund us so we could GET OUT of there We booked into a nice clean motel close by and even though we are paying a little extra I don't mind but WATERS EDGE you have lost me & 3 others who were booking into the same motel my wife & I have ...SHAME ON YOU as you should be closed down for what you are offering !!!!

Perfect getaway with pets

Reviewed By CountryFloss

My husband and I spent 5 nights here with our little old dog (who is like our child). Lisa and Wayne were so welcoming and lovely and our little man was very welcome. We stayed in the room with the little private deck and it was very clean and comfortable with modern furnishings in a relaxed atmosphere. The motel is only a few km away from nice restaurants, cafes and CBD, and there are also some clubs and eateries in walking distance. We highly recommend the Narimba motel (with or without pets) and we will definitely be back.
