The hallway and room had a bad smell, the room was dirty including hair and dust, the shower had mould in between the tiles, the towels did not seem to be clean, the sheet was dirty and the shower drain was clogged. We were unable to sleep that night as we were grossed out. We called the front desk to complain but noone answered. We reached out to management but they never did respond. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AND DISHONEST AND ARROGANT MANAGEMENT.

Reviewed By sbruno0415Wish I could give a 0. Every room has issues. Staff lies & management only cares about their money. We had to move 4 times. A swarm of mosquitoes on the porch ended up In our room. Plumbing issues in 2 rooms. We had no bathroom for two days. I was first told to run the water for 15 minutes. Then told I could shower at the pool area. Never offered compensation for loss of bathroom and time. Management said we can stay extra Monday or leave. Well who wants to leave and disappoint their child on Memorial Day weekend and have to search for a new hotel when nothing is available near by. Terrible customer service. The lounge and cafe food is horrible. Takes 45 minutes to come out, you think it would taste good. Jacuzzi doesn’t work at indoor pool. Staff makes you return towels with an honor system however they don’t even clean up the pool area with the towels that aren’t returned. At the end of our stay we asked for at least a 20% discount since we wasted so much time moving rooms and not relaxing and all management could say was there’s nothing they could do. To top if off, they over charged us after we checked out. My husband called to complain and they first refused to return our money. So we had to send an email with our original confirmation to management. They finally then agreed to refund us the difference. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If anything I’ll tell them to run. Btw- management says they’ve been in business for 80 years and always have returning business. BBB SITE shows 39 years and there are complaints. I wish I would have checked before we booked. Also we walked by the Presidential suite and saw the door open. It wasn’t much bigger than the handicapped room we moved into last since there apparently was no other room available. Only difference looked like dresser was bigger. Save your money.

Friendly, Clean and Great Location
Reviewed By LevanbloemI just enjoyed a long weekend (Fri - Sun) with 8 family members (ages 17 - 77) at the Point Pleasant Manor. When I made my reservation on the phone, the woman was very friendly and accommodating. She encouraged us to arrive early Friday and enjoy the pool (or beach) even before we could officially check in and also stay and use the pool on Sunday, even after check out. I didn't have high expectations since it's a motel, but I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished. The pool area was nice and even had an on-site grill/snack bar. It is 1.5 blocks from the beach and is on the edge of Bay Head, so not near the craziness of the Boardwalk. We walked to the Ark Pub for a great dinner. If I go back to Point Pleasant I would stay here again.

The king room was a good size with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, cable tv, good temperature control and convenient parking. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was very helpful at check in and during my 2 night stay. The motel is centrally located with easy walking to the beach or restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

The Cancellation Policy Entrapment
Reviewed By bitnerrI booked my one night stay, months in advance through hotels.com, who I've used many times and have never had an issue. The hotels.com cancelation policy was 10 days in advance. When hotels.com online couldn't find my reservation I was forced to leave a message and wait for a call back. In the meantime I called the hotel, explained I needed to cancel and was told I had to cancel through Hotels.com, they couldn't help me, AND that their cancelation policy is 2 weeks in advance, not 10 days. You can't have it both ways- you can't push me to talk to hotels and offer zero help, but then say you're going to supersede the hotels.com policy, to your benefit. Needless to say I ended up with the $275.00 bill, for a stay I didn't use, simply because the hotel refused to work with me, reach out to hotels.com on my behalf, (why should they, right, they already charged my card at the time of booking, obviously knowing full well their cancelation policy didn't match the hotels.com policy). Never again. I don't care if its the only room left at the beach I will never book here again- and i promise I will tell everyone I know about this experience.

Perfect Getaway
Reviewed By Islandtime11I stayed here with friends for the first girls trip in 2 years! Small compared to other motels in the area but very well appointed. Clean, modern, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked well, and the pool area was spacious & clean. New towels were delivered in the morning and the trash was taken out. My only two cons...I wish the staff had masks on when entering rooms and I wish there was a full length mirror in the room. It's located 1 block from Patio Bar/Wharfside and a 10 minute walk to the beach/Jenks Inlet Bar (on the beach with food, drinks, & music). I would absolutely recommend this Inn and will stay here again with friends and/or family.

Negatives - Unclear on parking and costs, ice machine did not work, a little sketchy. Yep, I said it, it was a little frightening. But it was a SUPER great location!

Captains Cafe visit
Reviewed By brianmE2178ZBArrived at the resort late on Friday evening after about 5 hours on the road. Visited Captains Cafe on the resort to feed the kids. While waiting for the food Bartender Ian S was amazing. He had great conversational skills and made sure we were taken care of completly. When the food came out it was a rather large order and it was correct. Ian went the extra step to check the order to ensure it was correct. Food was hot, fresh and very good.
