Reviewed By YunSuzExecellent! Its private, its a small area with amazing nature and a really calm beautiful beach, the hotel has gorgeous balcony views all facing the beach area. It lacks more food options but still it had some local restaurants. We bought the daily breakfast included. Not the greatest but still good. Everyday they have happy hour cocktails from 4-5pm Buy one get one free. Our bartender Ismael was very kind and friendly, prepared us great mojitos. The Thellaso therapy area is very nice, although I’m not sure why its needed to reserve in advance daily. We stayed 4nights here and it was excellent in general. The staff speaks Spanish, French and some English.

Welcoming and helpful hotel

Breakfast very fresh, actual real bread (not just plain white full of substances), yoghurts, great coffee, tortillas, chorizo, cheese etc. The baby crib was very nice and clean, as well as the room. Decorations are neat and tasteful, rare in Spain. Also the bed was comfortable. Location is not the best, right between two highly trafficated roads. But if you’re aware of this and not bothered, don’t hesitate to go. Traffic is by no means disturbing but not your best choice if travelling with small kids. Close to a gorgeous beach., car required.

Superb housekeeping, excellent towels and bedding, everything spotless. The LOCATION...frankly nothing can prepare you thís....fantastic! Even the access road is a short, but very beautiful adventure. The outdoor infinity pool is gorgeous and refreshing in May. Never seen a nicer pool. Truly fabulous. Great here for walkers, bird watchers and simply sitting and enjoying the view. Can also recommend to those who are not very mobile. just a few easy steps (handrail) to lower floor OR a slightly longer route with gentle slope via pool and garden area. Best of all at this lovely place are the incredibly kind and helpful hosts. Don´t know how we´d have managed without them. thank you...we´ll look forward to returning.

Reviewed By Suze_CassisWe stayed here for 3 nights in late September / early October towards the end of our trip around Spain. We were after a quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay that wouldn't break the bank - I'm happy to say that we found it here at Xaloa. The rooms are all on the ground floor, and despite my reservations that there may be some noise from the bar or the apartments above, were quiet. The bathrooms are new, clean and provide a good hot shower. The beds (two twins pushed together to form a double) were extremely comfortable. Free wifi was a bonus and it does work in the rooms or on the outside terrace. The wood theme / decoration may not be to everyone's taste, but it adds to the local character that runs throughout the hostel and the bar. Very Basque - but don't worry they speak Spanish too. The breakfast provided is quite simple, but you can ask for something hot or more substantial if you want it. (the standard pastry, hot drink and juice costs a very reasonable 4 Euros.) There are lots of other bars and eating options within a few minutes walk of the hostel. The bar on the seafront by the beach (sorry can't remember the name) is definitely worth a visit for a sundowner.

Arriving on a wet and cold day, we were able to place all our wet boots and coats in the boiler room.... they were dry within hours. The casa has been beautifully decorated; our room was spacious and perfect for our needs. Good restaurants are only 600m away. A warm and friendly owner who couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome. Recommended for a stay in Orio.

Tienes unas vistas maravillosas desde las habitaciones al mar, está ubicado en un sitio espectacular! Además te dan la posibilidad de hacerte unas pizzas ahí mismo tu mismo, por si no tienes nada para hacerte y están muy ricas. El único inconveniente fue que no había persianas solamente cortinas pero entraba mucha luz. De todas formas lo recomiendo al 100% y las dueñas son encantadoras.

Here you will find a personal and familiar treatment. The house has 6 double rooms individually equipped with bathroom and TV, a living room with a fireplace and a kitchen. Central heating is installed in the house and you can also make use of Wi-Fi service and barbecue. Igeldo rural home overlooks the Cantabrian sea and it is situated in an unequalled natural surrounding which offers the possibility to do various activities and enjoy the peace and quiet of both the mountain and the sea. The main advantage of the rural home is its proximity to Donostia- San Sebastian which enables you to enjoy the beauty of this city. From this rural home the centre of the city is easily accessed and emblematic places such as El Peine de los vientos, La Concha beach or La Parte Vieja can be visited. And if you really want to relax a therapeutic, sports or anti-stress massage service is also provided.
Beautiful house up in the hills
Reviewed By willewewSpacious rooms (bed was so-so) and fantastic views on the sea. The last bit of the road to the house is good (and beautiful) however pretty small! From the house it is a 15 min car ride down to the Orio beach where you can surf or relax. Alternatively you can walk the Camino trail to Orio town in 1h15m, which includes an ancient stone road through the forest. Or you take the other side of the road to San Sebastian. You can do grocery shopping in the big Eroski in Orio (next to the football field), and share the kitchen with the other house guests. The owners are kind, and Jose can speak a bit of English. They keep all sorts of animals around the house (horses, chickens, and even emus) which completes the rural experience of this place.
