Beautiful hotel, great location

We had booked here as part of a package for the Heineken Cup Final. On arrival our twin room was ready on the 9th floor, unfortunately our views were to the side of another building. The room was as you'd expect in France, small, but was spotlessly clean, had a fridge (with water in it), safe, tea and coffee making facilities. It does have AC but it wasn't really cool, you can't open the windows which is a pity. The bar is nice and we sat outside to enjoy the good weather and a nice glass of wine. Its almost cheaper to drink wine at €6 a glass as opposed to a glass of Orangina at €5! Breakfast is set up well, you can squeeze fresh oj, some hot food choices, pastries, fruit and meat/cheeses. There is a fabulous department store a few hundre metres down the road. We didn't use the pool but its a nice one with a lovely terrace. All in all I'd stay here again if coming to Marseille, it was around €10 to get a taxi to Vieux Port, I wouldn't walk around Marseille at night there is a rough undercurrent.

Great 2-day stay prior to boarding boat

Hotel is right by the train station but quiet. Not much choice in the way of restaurants in the area, but easy to walk down to the Old Port and can take the tram line nearby. Staff is exceptional. Couldn't do enough to help us. Rooms are on the small side but good use is made of space. Bathrooms clean and modern. Hotel has been modernized and is hip. Best part of the stay was the service.

Brilliant location and attentive staff

Reviewed By Nezarmy

This an extremely good position right on the port. We had double room with a port view on the second floor and there was no noise disturbance whatsoever. We only stayed for two nights but it was an extremely clean and comfortable hotel. We ate out both nights so I can't speak for the restaurant, although I do know they have a very good chef in house. We have stayed on the opposite side of the port previously but given a choice I would return to this side for convenience.

2 day visit in La Provance

Marseille isn’t an easy place to visit. We were expecting the intercontinental hotel to be a good place to ease things. It wasn’t the case. Worst came when we had to move to another room, as the next room people left their 2 dogs unattended which made the dogs extremely unrested and consequently they started to bark non-stop The indoor decoration doesn’t match the beautiful magnificent building. Our rooms had unpleasant smell and we felt they were very humid

Mixed Experience at 4-Star Hotel

Reviewed By mrsdagle

We arrived without reservations with ideas on staying at another hotel. My partner decided to check at the tourism information office and was persuaded to check out this hotel. He was happy with the price and reviews/ratings so we booked a room. First the room they had was 2 beds, we asked for 1 which was only available for a shorter stay. We went with that. We go to the room and realized it's full of mosquitos. they gave us another room without mosquitos. Unfortunately, on the last night I had a mosquito that woke me up. Otherwise, a nice room with a partial view of the port. It did get warm at night and I couldn't figure out how to adjust the air conditioner, which displayed that it was on but never cooled. the breakfast was good. The staff was very nice and provided water bottles. The night clerk kept an eye on things so we felt pretty secure when coming in late. The location was perfect. We appreciated the soundproof windows because that's a very noisy neighborhood.

Great value

Reviewed By 414garethl

Probably one of the best value hotels we've ever stayed at. The local area around the hotel isnt the best, but the hotel itself is lovely. We had breakfast and dinner included which was very tasty. There's a 20 minute walk to the tram/metro, or the hotel runs a free shuttle half hourly during the day time that goes right next to the tram stop, or within 5 mins walk of the metro. Staff are very friendly, but Englsh is fairly limited. There were a few strange quirks, such as there being tea/coffee facilities in the room but no cups available. The bedrooms are fairly basic but spacious and comfortable.

Awful

Reviewed By harry531

I asked for a twin room and received a double bed, flagged at the beginning of my stay and nothing done. No attempt to rectify or apologise. Room was unclean, hairs on the tiles in the shower, the room safe did not work. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Breakfast has to be prebooked despite plenty of tables empty. I would not recommend.
