Clean apartments with great (ocean) view

Near by airport, beach, restaurants and supermarkets. The appartment it self is simple but spacious and equiped with the most important. Only thing we missed a bit was a coffee table near the couch. The hotel it self is nice and quiet, but the nearby airport makes it a bit noisy especially in the weekend

Reviewed By Z4286NLjoannebUpon arrival at the hotel we were overcharged, this was rectified after multiple trips to the reception, there was a kettle missing from the room, this was pre arranged before arrival, we had to go chasing around for cups and spoons as well as pool towels as we were never offered these at check in. There was a constant squealing noise coming from the air conditioning which we never used as it wasn't needed. The advertised bars were closed, the lobby bar was never open, the pool bar where you are supposed to get snacks was permanently closed. Paid for all inclusive and this wasn't provided comprehensively. The restaurant rules were flouted, people wearing swimshorts and thong bikini bottoms during lunchtime. And sportswear and gym clothing worn at evening meal, nothing said to these people, yet the website and hotel app state that evening meal must be smart dress. People who were half board were using the restaurant both on lunch and evening meals as their room numbers were never checked, the way to bypass this is to not order drinks, which the customers knew. The hotel staff smirked when asked about what bars were open and always directed to the entertainment bar that opens at 4 or there abouts. The food is only hot if you are at the restaurant for opening, and if there is a wedding or communion on, be prepared for the worst food of the entire stay, as the chefs are more focussed on ensuring the parties get better food than guests which makes you feel unappreciated.

Peaceful stay
Reviewed By Charlene CWhat can I say apartments are spacious and very clean just enough pots plates to self cater, could do with a toaster and kettle as we like a cup of tea, so we would just boil water on the hob instead. The whole complex was spotless. No aircon but was not an issue as nice temprature during the night anyway. You can hire a safe for a week for 10 euro so very reasonable. Mini golf was a little bit of fun on a cloudy day. Pool had plenty of sunbeds and the pool area was lovely. Pool was not heated so when getting in was a bit of a shock. Location was right by at least 10 plus restaurants and a supermarket just across the road. Beach a 10 min walk along a lovely promenade or you could walk main road which is quicker. Bus stop right outside would run every hour and only 1.50 euro into town per person so easy to get around as after a couple of days relaxing we wanted to explore as the area did not have to much to explore which is why we hired a car for a couple of days 25 euro per day. But you could just use the buses as bus service was very good. We would definitely come back here again peaceful location but close to airport and capital both of which you can use the local bus service for, as town 10 mins on bus and airport 10 mins away also by bus. All in all could not fault the complex at all very clean friendly helpful staff and lovely peaceful location we will be back.

It is important to highlight the fact that the size of the apartments is seldom found in similar touristic services. The furniture and other basic elements provide for a functional and comfortable space. The decorative and ornamental elements enhance for a lively and colourful atmosphere.The independent rooms have single or double beds. The wide embedded closets are covered in wood, with full-length mirror doors and a digital safety-box and the bathroom consist of a bathtub, bidet, hair-dryer and welcome set of bath products.The kitchen is equipped with microwave, an electric coffeepot, toaster, refrigerator & freezer, and the whole set of dishes plus necessary cutlery.The livingroom has two comfortable sofas, desk and chair, colour satellite television of 21 inches, phone with direct outside line, and air conditioning. Each apartment has a terrace or completely private balcony with partially incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. The apartments have a surface of 70 m2, as well as a 15m2 terrace or private balcony. All of them have a comfortable bedroom, a complete bathroom, a spacious kitchen and a luminous living room with free WIFI service.
Ideal for a low-key Christmas break
Reviewed By tandrageegirlMy partner and I spent a week at El Cerrito over Christmas. It was a last-minute choice but we really enjoyed our time there. As other reviewers have mentioned, the decor is a little old, but everything was absolutely spotless. Our apartment was far larger than we expected, and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare basic meals, and we appreciated the extra touches, such as the blackout curtain in the bedroom. The complex is far enough from the main road for a very good night's sleep and, although we were there out of peak season, at a quiet time, we really didn't hear much noise from the other apartments. We didn't have much to do with the staff but they were always friendly and would no doubt have been happy to help, should we have needed anything. The gardens were beautiful and the pool looked clean (we didn't venture in, although it was warm enough to swim in the sea). El Cerrito is five minutes' walk from a Spar, and there are also two small local supermarkets just a little further away. There is a pharmacy nearby, and several restaurants. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach, which is very clean, with sun-loungers for hire. Bus stops for the bus to the airport or to Santa Cruz are a five minute walk away. Los Cancajos is a very easy place to have a relaxing holiday. It is very low-key and we found that El Cerrito really offered everything we needed to just kick back and recover from a busy year. The hotel is quite close to the airport (as is the case with all of the accommodation in Los Cancajos), so there is some noise from planes, but it is not a busy airport. The first flight is after 8 in the morning and the last after 9 at night, so this really wasn't a problem for us.

Hotel El Galeón is located on a privileged quiet place at the south boundary of the town, and it is easily recongnizable by the brick-red coloured building with a curved front. Thanks to this situation, the access to main road is close by, and the street on which the hotel lies sees little traffic. It offers the best starting point for guests looking to visit the town´s main streets as well as the shopping areas. It takes only a 10 minute walk to the main bus stop at the entrance of the historic old town. The inside car park has a direct access to the apartments, while up on top a sun terrace has commanding views of the port and hills. Due to the outstanding location, some apartments have also panoramic views.

You are close to many shops, bars and restaurants in the town. Inside the Hotel, you dispose of bar-café "Cafe Idafe", but also of a rooftop terrace with sunbeds, great panoramic views and a pool,of free internet access, satellite TV and information for your ideas and interests.

Reviewed By looneylemonWe stayed here for a long weekend tour of the Island. A great location as it’s less than 10 minutes from the Airport. We didn’t hear any planes nearby as it’s a fairly small quiet airport anyway. It has everything you need, plenty of parking, pool area, nicely kept garden/grounds and a well equipped Kitchen for cooking your meals. We were in a top floor apartment. The view was perfect and the area is so quiet. The main living area is nice and big and opens out onto a nice wide balcony with table and chairs. Lots of light in the room. We would definitely stay here again. When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready. However they let us into the room so we could get changed into our shorts and T-shirt’s. We just left our cases in the wardrobe for later and headed out for the afternoon. When you find the apartments the driveway is very steep downhill. It feels like your going the wrong way. Just follow it down left and the car park is at the bottom.
