Hotel with wonderful breakfast (朝食が高ポイントなホテル)

Reviewed By texas1999

It is natural that the location is excellent near Kanazawa Station, the underground parking lot is large, and the restaurants in the building are also substantial. I especially like the many side dishes on small plates for breakfast, the chef's omelet service, and a wide selection of desserts.

Japan Alps Autumn

Reviewed By 505Boontiong

My stay at Dormy Inn Kanazawa was almost the end of the vacation started from Nagano, Hakuba, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Kurobe Gorge. Believe me that staying at this hotel is money worth spent. Dormy Inn usually are near train station but away from noisy traffic, with nice indoor and outdoor Onsen at rooftop together with FREE Soba for supper (9.30-11pm). However, at Kanazawa only (maybe) they provide complimentary Happy Hour from 7-9pm with free flow of red & white wine, beer and party nut and cracker mix. So you probably want to stay until 9.30pm to continue with Free Soba Supper. Sounds good right? Rooms are very clean, staff are friendly. One thing I like about Dormy Inn is they have ice cube for free at the machine. So you can get cheap and nice sake or beer from stores nearby to fix your own drink. Another plus point is free usage of laundry machine and detergent. You only pay for the dryer. I highly recommend Dormy Inn to everyone visiting Japan.

Nice new hotel. Very central and easy to catch the loop bus from the street outside. Walking distance to pretty much all you want. Staff all very helpful and bag drop great. The rooms are spacious, for Japan, and have all you could need. Nice seating area and mini fridge. Everything clean and tidy. We loved Kanazawa and would return to both the city and this hotel again.

Dated decor

Reviewed By Thumbelina2

The hotel is on the bus route from the train station which is convenient. But it is a little hard to spot from the road because the lobby is on the 1st floor so you need to go up some escalators to reach reception. The reception is a grand marble lobby so it's a pity that decor didn't stretch to the rest of the hotel which was looking rather worn. There was a large (for Japan) but dated bathroom with thin narrow towels. There was a cork floor in the bathroom and a long sink surround which was handy for toiletries etc. The bath was short and not particularly deep. However there was an odd ledge to get into the bathroom which was a trip hazard. There was a hard bed with Japanese style seed pillow. The room safe was large enough to fit my two DSLR cameras and my ipad. But here was no shelving and the air conditioning was very ineffective. CNN was the only English language channel. There were no bedside tables, just a ledge with a light. But at least the room had 2 arm chairs & desk chair. The room had poor, gloomy lighting and you could hear your neighbours through the wall. The concierge was extremely helpful and helped me book a bus ticket and checked the route I was planning to take in case it had been affected by the typhoon. There's a Starbucks on the ground floor and also a nice patisserie opposite (which sadly didn't open early enough for me to use). The Wi-Fi was good and my room had a view of the town. It was about a 15 minute walk to the garden and about the same distance (in the other direction) for the ninja temple (which the hotel kindly booked for me). The hotel also kindly arranged for a geisha show for me but in the end I went to one in Kyoto.

Comfortable room and great location

Reviewed By Hallomega

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from JR Kanazawa Station and from the excellent Left Loop / Right Loop shuttle bus service that takes you to all the main attractions. I suggest that you buy a One Day Pass as this is much better value than single fares. The hotel room (810) was typically quite small but had a good work desk / light, a comfortable bed, refrigerator and the usual Japanese small bathroom. Over the hallway were dispensing machines, an ice machine and a microwave oven. A coin laundry is located on 5th floor. My two days were comfortable and convenient.

Situated in an ideal location

Reviewed By Toru O

I stayed here for 3 nights on a solo trip. I arrived early ( 10:00am) but they let me check in early, probably due to lack of so many guests from COVID-19. I personally liked the traditionally Japanese decor (e.g., near the entrance, lobby, hallways, and inside each individual rooms, etc. ) and the plethora of amenities. They have an onsite laundromat, which you can use for long stays. And thanks to COVID-19, they don't make your rooms everyday unless requested. Instead, they give you a new set of towels and bottle water, which is something I would have done if I were the hotel owner. It's quite a walk from the station, but there are a couple of convenience stores just down the road. Oyama Shrine, Kanazawa Castle, and Omicho Market are very close by. Just down the road (toward Korinbo) there is a bus stop that go to and from Komatsu airport. The only downside about the hotel is that the tempurature of the hot water tends to be unstable, changing from lukewarm to pretty hot and then lukewarm again, repeating the cycle.

This is a new hotel and the room is HUGE!! Staff is professional and helpful. The receptionist helped us to carry our 2 big suitcases into our room! She was very nice. The breakfast buffet is impressive! This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel provides shuttle bus to JR station. If you are driving, don't worry, it has plenty of parking spaces.
