Reviewed By justinr960Stayed on business for a week. Room was clean, staff was very nice. Property was actually 6 minutes from airport rental to hotel parking lot, perfect for my 6am flight out. A ton of restaurants and bars within a short drive. There is also a metro hub nearby that will take you into downtown DC. I will stay here every time I visit Herndon!

We both find the rooms beautiful and comfortable, and everyone is always so lovely and helpful. I’m sure he’ll ask to go again next year! The only thing I would change about this place is that the breakfast buffet, while tasty, feels a bit pricey to me. I would prefer a lower price even with more limited options - it (budget wise) limited the ability to have breakfast at the hotel with my son and two other children.

Reviewed By VickiLIncNot as advertised”pet friendly” we were told there would be a $75 charge for our 10 pound dog for 1 night. $75 is the charge for 1-4 nights. So, if you are staying 4 nights, it is fair, but $75 for one night is not fair. They are in no way, “pet friendly,” Don’t believe the advertisements.

Will not stay here again
Reviewed By littleseekerDid overall Hyatt Place or this particular one get down grade? Few years back I stayed a couple times at HP and the experience was great. But not this one. Pool is still closed. Parking is $7 in a suburb area. (Why??????) Breakfast is very basic. My kids are not picky at all. Even they are not excited about the breakfast. Floor in breakfast area is sticky. They also found a few stains spot on their blankets and the towels. Furniture and stuff in the room is dated and worn. The little fridge which has not freezer compartment acted like falling apart. We booked this last minute for thai trip and will stay with Hilton brand from now on.

Even though the hotel had modified it, they did not honor it as it would always open late and close earlier than the modified time. Due to this, you would see little kids staring to play in the fitness center across the pool which created a safety hazard. I also find out a huge cockroach in the men's bathroom which was for me very scary.

Reviewed By davidmF3984SZThe staff are AMAZING! From the front desk to the building engineer and housekeeping, every single employee does their best for the customer. We stayed for over a month while waiting on our house to become vacant and the room was perfect for us. I was teleworking the entire time and loved that the room was so large that I was comfortable having remote meetings with my wife in another part of the room. It was a great stay, made incredible by the outstanding customer service of everyone - especially Alexander, Raja, Eddie, and Eli! Just one example of their commitment to the customer: because we were going to be there for over a month we were concerned when we couldn't get our Amazon Fire stick to work with the current tv. Without delay the team brought us up a brand new, much larger, tv that helped make our stay so great. Thanks for giving us a home away from home!

Reviewed By BlueRidge1234The hotel continues to have a very attractive lobby and the rooms were nice. The price was very low, which probably compensates for their current shortfalls. Where they failed was the absence of the very good breakfasts they once had. I believe they have switched from a Chief to a Cook most likely a downfall of Covid. The offering now was just the very basics found at most hotels but I believe at an above basic price. Just basic scramble eggs, the croissants were the spongy rather than crispy and the waffles looked to be warmed up frozen ones. It was also unfortunate that nearly most of the parking close to the lobby was taken by travelers leaving their cars for long term parking. You could tell this by a bright paper on their dash. I have never known a hotel that allowed this. When I brought this up, they just said there was nothing they could do about it. They never thought about charging higher long term parking fees for those that leave their cars near the lobby. I might add that the hotel has a very long parking lot and the below ground parking only allows cars below 6 foot 3 inches so this excludes a lot of cars. I also hate Hilton closed their Executive Lounge. It was great for getting a water or coffee... but the only option was $4 waters from the bar. The drink machine was not working the day we were there.

Disappointing Stay
Reviewed By skyguyWII have stayed at this Crowne Plaza several times and always had good experiences. This stay undid all the goodwill of the previous stays. When I arrived at the hotel, I had not yet booked a reservation. I told the agent at the reception desk that I would be staying three nights and emphasized the check-out date. She proceeded to book me for only one night according to the form she asked me to initial for the rate and sign. I told her again that I would be staying for three nights. I asked if I should correct the form. She assured me that she would correct it in the computer. The room she had initially assigned to me had a broken door lock system. I could easily open the room door without a key card, because the door latch was also broken. I immediately went down to the reception desk to get a new room. The new room had a working door. However, I discovered in the middle of the night that the toilet tank did not refill about half the time. I resorted to filling the trash can with water from the bathtub and dumping it into the toilet bowl to flush the toilet. The last thing was that the bill under my door mistakenly showed my last night at a rate that was 25% higher than the rate I had been quoted and agreed to. When I told the person at the reception, who appeared to be a manager, about the maintenance issues, she said, "Well, these things happen." When I objected to the rate increase, she said the rate was "variable." After I continued to object to the unannounced rate increase, she reversed it. She then said, very sarcastically, "There. Now are you happy?" The check-out service was incredibly rude. I was also surprised that only one hotel staff member was wearing a face mask despite the recent surge of COVID-19 and rapid spread of the Omicron variant. The manager said they were no longer required to wear face masks. Oddly, there were signs on the doors requesting guests to wear face masks in the hotel. Few did. IHG would be wise to require all staff to follow health protocols. As an IHG Gold rewards member and a travel industry professional for 39 years, I can no longer recommend the Crowne Plaza-Dulles.
