I guess I don't have a choice.

I did a bullet trip at the end of the year. The atmosphere and facilities of the hotel are pleasant. The SPA is spacious and relaxing. Towels are always available in the SPA. I would recommend the Japanese and Western style rooms. The room is a little bit bigger than I expected. However, the massage service on the second floor is very Poor and I do not recommend it. I want my money back.!!!! It's not worth it. I pointed out the problem to the front desk, but they said, "It's outsourced. It's a subcontractor. hahaha.... I was disappointed that the hotel didn't seem to take the problem into their own hands. I also asked the front desk to arrange a taxi for the next day's sightseeing, but they said they didn't have one. I had no choice but to look for a brochure behind the front desk and found one, so I arranged it myself. Too bad. 久々に最悪の泊まりになりました。これは選択を皆様考えるべきです。施設はとっても良いです。温泉も最高です。食事も良いです。アクセスも悪くなく便利で周囲に施設もいっぱいあります。何よりもサービスの問題です。観光客相手だとこんなもんですかね。再度訪問はありません。

Perfect Stay!

Although Hokke Club is a chain in Japan, this particular location in Hakodate definitely exceeded the expectations of being a chain hotel. Rooms were large by Japanese standards and though the furniture was a bit dated, the onsen definitely was the highlight. Nothing beats soaking in a hot bath after a day spent outside in below freezing temperatures. The breakfast spread was surprisingly vast - it was comparable to any five-star hotel and was as delicious. Staff were friendly and pleasant, as expected from Japanese hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel next time I'm in Hakodate!

Nice hotel only 5 minutes’ walk from the JR station

Reviewed By AlexMaz

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (502) was very spacious and comfortable, and had a light and spacious feel. The room had two single beds, a lovely living area including a TV, sofa, table and chairs. The reverse cycle Air Con worked well as did the humidifier. The WIFI worked well and the room had a security safe. Kitchenette looked good (we didn’t use it) and had a cooktop, micro oven, microwave, sink and fridge. Bathroom was great as was the separate bath/shower room. It is also very close to the fish market, which is a great place to have a meal.

Nice hotel, needs to work on staff!

Location: excellent, located just behind the station, easy to reach. In front of the station there are many buses, so it is well connected with the whole city. Room: a beautiful room with two single beds, very large and with a view! The corner station with sofa and table is beautiful! Very cozy. Equipped with fridge and kettle. The bathroom was very nice, I liked the curtain they put up for privacy. You could get the amenities near the reception. Checkin / Staff: to improve. I didn't feel welcomed at all. Price: I feel like it was a fair price because of the room! -I would have preferred they gave more variety of tea, not just the green one -I saw lots of dust in the hotel.

The hotel is fine, but worth asking whether this is the best location to stay

Reviewed By DadTravelOrganiser

This hotel is absolutely fine. Nothing to write home about, but it is clean, the staff are good, breakfast is ok, and the location works. The rooms can be really tight (our room had one side of the bed directly abuting the wall), and the bathrooms are module style you see in some cheaper hotels. The hotel is also quiet, and the lifts work well. But here is the thing: it is close to the tram and Goryokaku park. But if you are staying in Hakodate and the budget allows, I would highly recommend staying somewhere that is much more central: either near the JR station/Morning market or the Motomachi district. Why? * The JR station / morning market are much closer to "the action". Market is ok and there interesting things to do nearby, but you are also close to a place you should not miss: Daimon Yokocho. We really enjoyed our meal here with some locals. Very fun. You can also very easily catch the bus from here up Hakodate-yama to watch the sunset (which can be very busy!). It is also not hard to get to Motomachi - either walking or tram. * Motomachi includes a lot of historical sights, and is just interesting to wander around. There are also some good local Japanese cafes in the back streets worth taking a chance on. I realise that not all budgets will stretch to these alternative locations, but it is my best advice from our time in Hakodate.

We had a wonderful time here. The room was very spacious for this price and it’s within walking distance of the red warehouses and many of the old buildings in town, plus the ropeway to go up Mt Hakodate. You can take the tram from Hakodate station and get off at Jujigai (十字街) to get close to this hotel. From there it’s an easy walk. The staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this for a stay in town.

Small, but good

Reviewed By DevelopmentTraveller

Tiny rooms, but good service and a wonderful location. Our experience at Sheraton Hakodate was good. We spent one night in transit to Sapporo. Given the small size of our room, I couldn’t have stayed much longer, but we did enjoy our stay. The hotel is immediately adjacent to the Hakodate Morning Fish Market and Hakodate Station - you’re not going to get a better location than that! Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and affordable. Recommended, but remember, the rooms are truly Japanese size.

One night stay

Reviewed By westmorland

Only stayed one night. Our room faced the sea and had a private onsen which was lovely. Room was ok but was dark and bed mattresses were directly on the floor, little challenging for the older guest to get up in the morning! No tea or coffee in room, this was only available in the lobby. Breakfast was a buffet style with a good selection of both western and eastern food. Very few restaurants in the area around the hotel.
