Overpriced, misleading marketing, rundown, poor food options and pool and pool area is disgusting

Reviewed By amL3443NS

Research what is open on the days you are visiting between the slopes, snow tubing, restaurants, store hours, all of it. It changes from day to day. The food options in the hotel are so overly priced for what’s worse than fast food standards. If you want anything decent, you’ll have to leave the hotel. The hours of the places within the hotel are ridiculous too, they close between 5 and 7pm. The pool was murky and there were clumps of hair floating around, dirt, mud and all kinds of gross stuff allover the floor surrounding the pool. My kids didn’t even want to swim again after one night of hanging out at the pool. The tub/shower in our room was clogged and it would flood up when we tried to shower for a couple of minutes and the water barely got warm. When we arrived in our room, the floor definitely hadn’t been vacuumed; there were remnants of food from the previous people on the floor. When I made the reservation online it said that we would get one free lift ticket or a free lesson and when I inquired about it over the phone after I booked our reservation, they said no, that wasn’t right. No housekeeping at all. Mostly kids that work here so there doesn’t seem to be a lot of pride in job performance or attention to detail. This place is not worth the money it charges, not even close. I suggest spending your money somewhere else if you are staying for more than one night.

Ski, tub and ice skate at Wisp (just across the road) in winter, or put on the inn's snowshoes and make tracks on the frozen lake. Warm up in the sauna, the steam shower or in front of the big stone fireplace in our native chestnut paneled great room.

Exemplary Getaway

Lake Pointe Inn deserves the great reviews it gets. The rooms, lakeside location, breakfasts (amazing) and staff are all outstanding. The property and staff are friendly, attentive (without being too much so), and not stuffy. It is large enough not to feel like like you are a B&B's second floor bedroom visitor yet small enough to feel like friends with staff and guests. This place is perfect.

Worst weekend of my life

Reviewed By 278marcyl

I will never reccomend this inn or this town to anyone. Bathroom had water stains in the walls, ceiling had water damage, hair from previous occupants was in the bathtub drain. The shower was gross. The list goes on and on. Noise above from occupants running back and forth at all hours of the night didn't help much either.

Absolutely perfect little getaway

Reviewed By 211jadep

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for a few days & decided to book a cabin (cabin C1 lakeside) here to unwind. Everything was perfect! Checkin was super quick and easy, the hot tub was clean and comfortable, the location was quiet (although I think we may have been the only couple in our area) and beautiful, and the cabin was clean, cozy and properly stocked. There are restaurants and bars not far from the cabins as well :) We definitely got the relaxation we were looking for. I also wanted to point out that we stayed here during a little snow storm and the roads were treated promptly. We will definitely be back in the summer time :) !

Some services lacking, hopefully better on next stay

Usually it’s always been a 5 Star stay here at the Cassleman motel, but this trip the service was lacking in the motel. Still a better option to stay here than the chain motel along the interstate. Housekeeping services are lacking, only used housekeeping services 1 out of my 3 night stay, shampoo wasn’t replenished nor was the toilet paper. Thank god there was a box of tissues. Usually those are 2 things that a hotel guest tends to use. Here’s a idea to management - put refrigerators in all the rooms - so guests can patronize the local restaurants in the area & keep they’re food refrigerated, as of now it states you need to make a special request for a fridge. They used to have Mennonite women working here - doesn’t seem like that’s the case both at the motel & restaurant.

Western MD Getaway

Reviewed By Counselordude

My wife and I love to visit Garrett County at least once a year and this motel is certainly one of the best priced. It has some age on it but the room was clean and we appreciated the refrigerator and microwave. We would have loved a coffee maker but the restaurant on premises was good for early AM coffee. The only negative was the musty smell when we arrived but we took care of that with an air freshener. We would certainly return here in the future.

Passing Through on a Motorcycle Trip

Beautiful motel inside and out! Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. There was a nice sitting area in the front lawn to watch the traffic pass and relax. We were on our motorcycles and the drives are a bit steep but just take it slow! Nice parking right in front of our room. Only issue was at this location we could not get any food, pizza or otherwise delivered. So pick something up before you get settled! Or eat before you arrive.

The staff deserves better

Reviewed By MARY B

The evening desk clerk was very welcoming and accommodating. I asked for a quiet room, and when I heard traffic, she moved me. She offered to help me get into the pool early. She gave me sani-wipes from her personal supply because the hotel didn't supply them. Everything want downhill from there. The room was dirty and disheveled. Even making allowances for the fact that it had not been used in a while, there was no excuse for a dirty carpet, the dead bugs, and lampshades that look like they had been through a tornado. The internet was unstable and too weak to be of use. This hotel does not deserve Jeanette, the desk clerk who did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and safe.
