A gem of a minsu nestled in the Lalashan mountains
Reviewed By shipoffoosOn our first ever visit to Taiwan, we were in search of a peaceful retreat in the mountains, and Fuyam Tourist Home was all that and more. Host Brian was prompt and helpful in all our communications prior to booking and recommended us the Liyuan room, a charming, spacious upper unit in a two-storey block. A driver was hired to fetch us from Taoyuan Airport, and as part of a tour package with the minsu he took us to Daxi Old Town and Xiaowulai falls on the way up to Lalashan. On the second day, we visited Shenmu and other sights. Highlights of the minsu stay: the beautifully landscaped surroundings, the mountain view from our room and a truly outstanding breakfast and dinner with (other guests have also said this) no repeat dishes. Take tea in the tea lodge or read and relax in the lounge. Brian, Zhong Ma, Zhong Pa and the staff are genuinely welcoming and will make you feel right at home. We had a wonderful three days in perfect, sunny, 18degC weather.

Reviewed By ThongsA group of us from Singapore, USA and Australia totaling 10 persons stayed at 5.5 k Farm stay on 27 April 2016. After cycling from Guanxi city, it was a welcoming rest. The manager and his wife welcomed us and prepared for us a scrumptious feast! In the morning they prepare extra breakfast for all of us to continue on our trip to Lalashan. Would have loved to stay for longer to doing more sight seeing on foot and help on the farm! The manager is a most helpful and friend guy! Heart warming and tremendous Taiwan hospitality to go out of their way to make us feel welcomed! Highly recommended for family stay! Free mountain air , friendly locals, great food, beautiful location and sunrise! This is the life!

Welcome to Da Kuan Forest Farm where you can experience life way up on the mountain. The farm life yields peaches, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, persimmons, river trout and wild natural chicken. Join the Aboriginals as they make mochi, a traditional treat. We offer quiet cypress log cabins and peaceful solitude of nature at the Lala Mountain Nature Reserve where you can find trees over 2,000 years old. It is only 3 miles away from the hotel.
A hidden gem!
Reviewed By AndyRouwThis place is an absolute gem. Stowed away in the hills as it is you wouldn't expect much upon arrival, but I was delightfully surprised. The setting is absolutely stunning both with regards to the landscape and the interior decor. Rooms are simple but tasteful and the food is glorious. Considering the remote location and reasonable price this place is a real dream.

Fantastic scenery and surreal experience
Reviewed By sonia-r-sungI came with my parents and my sister. We arrived and received a warm welcome. The scenery was beautiful! The hotel is on the mountain, overlooking mountains on three sides and a curvy river in between. The property is beautifully designed with a big open room for the breakfast dining and many small rooms for small group dining. You can enjoy the beautiful view in any of the dining rooms. There is also a special area for semi camping experience with two mobile trailers and outdoor table and chairs. The entire property is open for all the hotel guests to enjoy. There are also karaoke room and BBQ area. The hotel room is spacious and comfortable. The hotel owner and service person went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. For example, we drove a car that is not for mountain climbing. They made an arrangement to pick up part of our group to get there so that our car can manage to climb up to the property. It is a great place to go if you like to enjoy the Taiwan mountain and river scenery with a comfortable space to enjoy and relax. The B&B provides free breakfast, and they have lunch and dinner menu for you to order. It is truly enjoyable and the dollars are well-worth it. One thing to note: the road to the hotel has a steep climb. You will need to have a car that has enough horse power.

Reviewed By ssuwen063事先訂好的房間,因為民宿業者接了一輛遊覽車的生意,就把我們的房間給了他們,要我們換房間,換的房間超爛的,像倉庫沒對外窗戶又是霉味,又髒,還有蜘蛛....,提供的早餐份量少,不夠吃....真的很不優,環境跟網站上的照片相差真的很多,真心說經營者真的很不用心
