Reviewed By Sarah_LK2194Do yourself the favor and stay at another hotel in the area. The rooms are filthy and have really bad odor. Front desk and owners are extremely rude. I literally had to go to Walmart to buy cleaning supplies to clean the room as they refused to change my room. The continental breakfast is just a bagel in a ziplock bag. Just do yourself a favor and look past this hotel. It will be a nightmare of a stay.

Reviewed By Sherri KThe staff is very friendly, accommodating and always there to help however they can. Rooms and hallways were clean. Breakfasts offer a variety of foods and they're all good. This is my go to place when traveling in the area.

Reviewed By Gershwin12With friends seeing a play at SUNY Cortland we chose this hotel because of the positive reviews and close proximity to the college. This hotel did not disappoint. The reception area was warm and inviting? Provided all the amenities you would expect from the brand. Upon entering our room I felt concerned because of the musty smell. I went to open the window and guess what? The windows didn’t open. This proved problematic due to having allergies. Inspecting the room I found it to be clean however the air conditioner was filthy. A picture paints 1000 words, please see my photos. Comfortable beds with big fluffy pillows allowed for a restful night. The bathroom amenities were Eco friendly: economy sized multi use soaps and shampoos in the shower. Towels were big and fluffy. Our room was surprisingly quiet other than the occasional slamming doors, fault of other guests. I appreciate when a hotel provides a microwave, and refrigerator; this hotel did as well as a coffee maker with all the fixings. Fairfield inn and suites Cortland provided us free parking, free high-speed Internet, pool, fitness center, small business center and 24 hour coffee and tea. The coffee ran out by 6:00 PM. The breakfast offerings were prepackaged Covid friendly and more than ample. Hand sanitizer was provided at the front desk, not near the food service area. I recommend this hotel when visiting the area especially if you were visiting Cortland SUNY.

The breakfast was good and they cleaned everything as soon a table was empty. the rooms were very clean. the added bonus they gave us a good bag in our room when we checked in and on graduation day they gave us a teddy bear with class of 22 on it

Reviewed By Jim_in_WintersvilleFor some reason the hotels in the Cortland area are very expensive. In comparison, the Red Roof Inn is a deal. Do note the property is in transition as it is being updated. Still, the rooms, though simple, are clean and orderly. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Coffee in the room and at the front desk -- front desk coffee is to be preferred. No other food at the moment. Parking is right next to the motel/hotel, though it is a bit dark. The Inn is located right off of I81, and on the edge of town though very close to the center of the city. Plenty of restaurants nearby. This is a basic but good property, especially given the rate. The staff sparkle. Would stay again. If you need a basic place to stay in Cortland, and don't want to spend a fortune, this is the place.

Reviewed By n3tbcSpacious room, king sized bed and a jacuzzi tub... aaah living. This was a very nice hotel. It is definitely an older hotel and could use some updates. It is not bad and definitely a very nice stay. The staff is helpful and friendly. Some issues for older guests include no elevator so make sure to ask for a 1st floor room if stairs are a concern.

Reviewed By lisakG574DHAvoid at all costs! Filthy room. Room smelled musty and after having to breath it in for 8 hours, my daughter and myself are all stuffed up. Mildew stains on wall in the room and bathroom in several places. Peeling wallpaper in the room and bathroom. Carpet not vacuumed. Found someone's socks under the bed. Crumbs on the dresser. Holes in the walls. Heater was covered in dead bugs and what looked like mouse feces; heater was extremely loud and squeaky. Spiders and cobwebs in the corners. Stains on the lampshades. Garbage bag behind the chair. Bed had hair and dirt in it. Pillows smelled musty so we had to use a towel as a barrier before laying down. Door didn't shut correctly, making our safety a concern. Overpriced accommodations.

Plain but Clean
Reviewed By jamaicachippiWhen I travel, I look for a place to stay overnight that is economical, yet clean. The Cortland Motel is both. It is run by a very nice Korean family who were very nice to me. The rooms are not fancy, but clean, with TV, Internet, Coffee maker, small refrigerator and microwave. The bed and towels were clean. Toiletries are provided. Nothing fancy, but is a good place to stop while on the road or looking for a place for a short stay. The Motel offers a couple smoking rooms, which are usually reserved ahead of time, the remaining rooms are non-smoking.

Reviewed By trippyvizerHaving grown up in Cortland, I remember this motel as having a reputation and not a good one. However the recent reviews seemed good and it was a much better deal than the chains so I went for it and had no regrets. The room was clean, surprisingly modern, and the bed was very comfortable. And now Cortland has a cool coffee shop called Bru so being able to walk to there was a big plus Would definitely stay again!
