10 Top-Rated Hotels in Columbus, Georgia

This bustling riverfront town offers good old-fashioned Southern hospitality, old-world charm and a treasure trove of discoveries for Civil War buffs. To really get the feel of another era, stroll through the National Historic District, a 28-block stretch of restored Victorian homes, gardens and gazebos, and tour the house museums in Heritage Corner. Situated on the Chattahoochee River, Columbus offers a mixture of old and new with the lovely 12-mile Columbus Riverwalk, which includes the Chattahoochee Promenade, a walking tour of historical markers. A chief supplier for the Confederate Army, the town's Civil War history is on display in myriad museums and historic sites like Port Columbus Civil War Naval Center, which contains some of the Civil War's most important artifacts. But it's not all just war memorabilia: Columbus boasts a rich cultural side, with opera, symphony and a performing arts center. And for family fun, head to the Coca-Cola Space Museum for a simulated flight and a look at the first Coke machine used in outer space.

Graduation trip, the hotel is nestled in a beautiful, quiet, forested area. Always greeted with friendly staff everywhere. It’s very clean inside and out. The hot breakfast was a great way to start the day. The pool and workout areas are great. The museum is a short walk and well worth visiting. I am glad we budgeted extra time to explore Columbus. The hotel is an easy 15-20 minute drive to the river front area of Columbus. Fort Benning is a 5 min drive, impressive base. We would stay here again, thank you.

AWFUL

This hotel is in terrible shape. I'm an Honors member and stay in Hiltons almost every time I travel but this hotel has me reconsidering that choice. I submitted the survey and contacted guest experience but no one has responded. The room itself was really run down. The bathroom looked like it was going to cave in, the toilet didn't flush all the way, the sink dripped constantly and the shower/bath was a wreck. The AC in the room never got to temp and it was hot in the room all night. In the hallway, the ceiling was falling in, literally, there was crumbled ceiling tile throughout the hallway. The AC downstairs must have also been a problem because the staff had propped open the door in the dining room, where they prepare the food (against health code?). The team apparently also does laundry all night and my room was near the laundry so I was up all night as they did. They also used strong fabric softener so the smell was overwhelming. I didn't sleep at all because of the laundry and the AC. In the morning when I went to get coffee I asked the woman working the front desk for milk, there was none out for the cereal, and even though they were literally steps from me, she chatted with the other person working for several minutes before coming out to get a cup for the milk because they were out of milk cartons. There was ONE redeeming quality to my stay and it was the tall young man who checked me in. He was helpful and courteous to everyone he encountered. The rest of the staff, particularly the person working the front desk in the morning, were not so..

Room was very nice, all employees very nice/helpful, GREAT location, everything was Very clean, overall a great stay; however breakfast was a disappointment! Recently stayed in Home2Suites in Pecos Tx; breakfast PHENOMENAL there!! They had fresh tasting eggs, breakfast potatoes, etc....in Columbus is premade/frozen breakfast stuff, nothing tasting fresh...they did have fresh blueberries most days which I appreciated since I had no interest in their hot breakfast entrees (again because they were all like grocery store frozen food) I opted for cereal, so nice to have fresh blueberries in my cherioos!!

Relaxing stay, quiet surroundings, bring your fishing pole. Breakfast was NOT included (despite Expedia saying it was) and at $12.95 per person, it was too steep for us. Nothing nearby within walking distance (which is what makes this place relaxing…..!) Nice beds, clean spacious room, good shower.

Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place, an IHG hotel

While we may like to take it slow in the South, our tendency to settle into the moment hasn’t stopped the hustle. Founded as a riverfront trading town, the Chattahoochee River rapids are the soundtrack to our city. Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place celebrates the spirit of creativity and innovation that spawned the historic W.C. Bradley family, whose influence continues in our hotel today. Founded in 1885, the W.C. Bradley company is distinguished in adaptability and forward-thinking, most known for manufacturing consumer goods with subsidiaries including Char-Broil and Zebco brands. In our restaurant, local gets the spotlight with fresh entrees featuring handpicked produce from W.C. Bradley Farms. With 107 uniquely-appointed guest rooms, our hotel gives you the front seat to the hidden essence of our neighborhood. You don’t need to go far for views – our rooftop bar offers an inviting setting for twilight craft cocktails and regionally-influenced local beers overlooking the Chattahoochee. Cheers to a moment to savor.

The staff are a highlight of this beautiful property.

Beautiful property with the friendliest staff. Our family of four stayed at this property in April 2022. From our check in with Brian Williams, to the people staffing the valet parking, to the bar and restaurants, and housekeeping, every interaction was professional and welcoming. The staff is top notch. Leyla at Denim and Oak during breakfast provided wonderful customer service with a smile that started our day off right. The property itself is designed well. The room was beautiful and functional. The pool area and bar area are also highlights. The location is terrific. We walked the river walk to our rafting and ziplining excursions. We ate dinner at the Italian restaurant across the square. It is right off the pedestrian/bicycle bridge across the Chattahochee River over to Alabama. I would return to this property and highly recommend it for your visit to downtown Columbus.
