Situated 700 meters above sea level in an 8-hectare park on the shores of Serre-Ponçon Lake, the Village Club Hyvans is the ideal place for a sporting or family holiday. Reviewed By Edith MNormally I only write a review if it's very bad or very good. In this case it was very bad. Feeling depressed after staying 1 night. Only suitable for older people if they don't have the possibility to go somewhere else … Very isolated location. Not updated, nor cleaned since … 1971 ?!

Reviewed By 30nathaliedWe had a great time at "les horizons du lac", a family friendly place, not too many people, many activities proposed, breakfast and dinner included (the restaurant was simple but with choice and good food). The place had an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a kids playground... it is well located next to the lake of Serreponçon which is a beautiful place. We had a nice and relaxing stay and the kids loved it! The only thing is that there is no wifi in the rooms, only at reception

Reviewed By ClareyMcAX Hotel is great - Lovely rooms, good breakfast and really nice staff. There is plenty of parking and free WiFi throughout the hotel. I would definitely recommend it if you need somewhere to stay near Gap - we will definitely come back!

Reviewed By Terry AWe were travelling with a group of Australians and this was our first experience of the French VVF villages - what an excellent concept - we were very impressed with the facilities, the gites, the bar and the community areas including the dining. Three meals a day was included. The gites were quite spacious and comfortable- particularly the mattresses which were good. Ours was set up for a family and included a well equipped kitchen to prepare,cook and serve meals. The fridge was a good size and all cutlery and crockery + glasses were supplied. The shower, basin and hanging space were OK-plenty of hot water. Toilet was separate. Swimming pool, sauna etc - good. Meals were good country cooking-very tasty and very large serves. There was plenty of wine ,water and juice etc to accompany meals and of course the wonderful French baguettes. Buffet,serve yourself breakfast with plenty of choice including fresh fruit and pastries. Three course lunch and 4 course dinner - really generous and too large for the amount we normally eat- thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff very helpful. Our rooms were serviced daily . Enjoyed the petanque and meeting the people who were holidaying there -ordinary people of all ages, including young families, couples and tour groups from other countries and France. A wonderful stay - hope we can return. We were out daily exploring the surrounding areas. Lac Serre Poncon is just down the hill with Baie Saint-Michel within walking distance. A magical part of France.The view over Lac Serre Poncon from the balcony of our gite and the dining area was stunning.

Nice environment, but not the personnel!

The environment is lovely, but you need a car as there is no shop or bakery on the site and you need to get to the nearest town (Chorges) to get some food. The restaurant was closed and replaced by a food truck. We did not use. There was also a bread service in the morning. The apartments are modern but at arrival they were not very clean. I found a used coffee pad in the Senseo machine an a bottle of shampoo together with some dust underneath the beds. There were no cleaning products in the apartment and a brush needed to be repaired. Also, the vacuum cleaner was completely full. When we were packed and ready to leave, we were told to make an appointment with the cleaning lady who would check if we had cleaned properly (they did not tell us this when arriving). I found her to be very rude as she pushed me some cleaning products and a sponge in my hands and I was forced to clean the toilets while she was watching. Also, I had to redo the showers, the floor and vacuum cleaning under her watching eye. I found this humiliating and unnecessary. I had followed the instructions for cleaning the apartment but this was apparently not enough for this woman. Her attitude is not acceptable! Concerning the wifi, be aware this is only sufficient for 2 users and only on certain moments. And you better do not have too noisy neighbours as you can hear almost anything from each other! Luckily, the nice view on the lake can compensate a lot!
