Great holiday stay
Reviewed By wonderwomanno1Calm and hidden in nature - great place for relaxation. Surrounded by trees, close to a river. The hotel was clean and had everything that needed to be. Interior was nice and the breakfast buffet was very bold and full of tasty delicatessen. The only minus - staff was a little overwhelmed and busy that created not so calm and fulfilling atmosphere. The hotel is at the border side of the city - for us it was a benefit, but if you wish to stay close to the city center, this is not an option.

Cesis is one of the most beautiful towns in Latvia with an ancient history and traditions. Reviewed By renate836Very clean, spacious room, beautiful view, comfortable bed. Welcome, great location and parking right in front of the hotel. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace with beautiful park views. Very poor breakfast, small selection. If there was a salad at the start of breakfast, it was eaten and the bowl was not replenished. Same with buns. Basically there were 2 cheeses, an omelette, sausages, a cucumber and tomatoes. The coffee machine was brought only around 9 o'clock. The girl who removed the dishes was very unhappy. As well as a specific number for the wishes, I received in the reply that the wish will be fulfilled, but the number was given to another. Trifle, but sad, cuz they promised.

Good 3-star hotel
Reviewed By livermagpieWe stayed for one night in a double room. The room was clean and spacious. The decor and bathroom can do with some refurbishment, however considering it as a 3-star hotel and the price paid, it was perfectly fine. The receptionist suggested a good place for dinner in the old town which is a couple of minutes away on foot. Breakfast was fine. In terms of accessibility, it's important to note that no lift is available.

An excellent place from which to explore the region
Reviewed By PeterandRobin2014We wanted to visit the Gauja National Park, and we chose Cesis as a base from which to do this. This hotel was just what we wanted: it is not a luxury hotel, but our room was clean and well-appointed, and our bed very comfortatable. The staff were very friendly, although we were glad that we had learned a few words of Latvian, as this made communication significantly easier. We should also mention the splendid breakfasts. We came downstairs to a magnificent spread of bread, cheese, meat, fruit and fresh eggs on both mornings that we were there. We came to Cesis by car (I suspect that it might be rather hard to get there by public transport), but the hotel has plenty of parking spaces. On the other hand, the hotel is very central - just a short walk away (through a pretty park) from the historic centre of the town. In short, if you wish to explore the Gauja National Park, this is a great base from which to do so.

Place to stay in Cesis!
Reviewed By TimoP646Excellent location and extremely helpful and friendly english speaking staff. My room was modern, nice and clean. I was bit early in town but since my room was ready, I was able to check-in. The hotel is located in the main street and everything is in walking distance.

The camping Ozolkalns is located right next to the banks of the Gauja river, near Ski and Recreation Park Ozolkalns in the middle of Gauja National park (Enter Gauja). During summer it is in a very convenient location for those who are taking boat rides down the Gauja river. Near by is the Adventure park Supervavere. In wintertime it is located 200 m apart from Ski resort Ozolkalns ski slopes which are longest in Latvia and reach 500 m each. The campsite has 6 heated cabins each ment for 4 - 5 people - also may be used during wintertime. Each house has two bedrooms - and a shared bathroom. Possible to accommodate 26 + guests. Ski resort
Reviewed By anarhitektsVisited Ozolkalns downhill slopes on January 17, 2021, as one can imagine it is the very Covid-19 time. The slopes were maintained in very good condition. BUT none of the personnel (except one guy at the ski rent) cared using face masks as they should during the Covid outbreak - and I am talking about the guys who interacted directly with the customers an breathed directly in their face. It is a pity that a resort that has such a good downhill slopes works contrary to the basic public health measures during the pandemic.

We’re located in a quiet place but walking distance away from the city center. We have 10 rooms. On the ground floor there’s a main hall with fireplace, children's playground and rest areas. We also have a sauna, a deep pool and two free barbecue areas. Each room has one double or two single beds, a TV, kettle, alarm clock, Wi-Fi, hair dryer and bathroom. Prices include breakfast.
New build log house but still full of character
Reviewed By Alex KWe found the ArkHouse really cosy and central enough to walk to a few pubs and restaurants. Our hosts were great to, we had a welcoming glass of wine on arrival and lots of smiles which is always a good start. We opted for the buffet breakfast and it was plentiful with a fair choice of stuff. The coffee was very good to.

Huoneistoomme kuului iso terassi sisäpihalle. Sauna 15€ lisämaksusta käytössä. Jääkaappi oli saapuessamme lämmin, olisi ollut hyvä jos olisi ollut valmiiksi kylmä. Huoneisto oli ensimmäisessä kerroksessa. Ovikoodi ja avainkoodi tuli sovitusti sähköpostiin. Kaikki toimi moitteettomasti, kiitos. Suosittelen kaikille.

Really peaceful lovely place
Reviewed By M111APDWe were recommended this place by a friend. I looked it up on TA and found it had no reviews, but it did on Google and other websites. Really glad we gave it a go. Great peaceful location, the owners were really nice and couldn't do enough for us. English, Latvian, Estonian,German, Lithuanian and Russian speaking. Sauna and indoor dip pool along with outside lake for swimming if you want to, and only an hour from Riga the capital.
