They all showed very professional with king, care and courteous attitude. We chose this hotel because of the location near central park. We didn't get the room with park view (extra cost), however, we could enjoy park view just walked out the room and only couple steps from a seating corner with floor-to-ceiling window to view the park. The other great thing is breakfast (included) with plenty of choice of western style and home cooking meal. With under US$80.00 (conversion) it's a steal.

Reviewed By junguo01The hotel's staff members were all super friendly. When we arrived on the first day, we had question about a place we wanted to go. The lady at the front desk searched it up online, printed out the bus route and schedule, and explained to us how to get around. Extremely helpful, thank you. The hotel is well maintained, but relatively older in style. The location is somewhat in middle of nowhere, so a lot of walking was needed. There are few food stores around, but nothing too big.

Reviewed By SforSingaporeWe booked a quad family room as we have 2 adults and 2 children. We have a good and comfortable stay in Kiwi Express Hotel Taichung Branch 1. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location. Less than 5 mins walk from Taichung main station and bus station. Many eateries nearby. Room is big, new and very clean. It has windows. There are hot and cold water dispenser beside the lift at every floor. Beds are comfortable and very quiet to sleep at night. No noisy neighbours. Strong wif. Great breakfast (mainly chinese dishes - buffet style). Considered quite a wide spread as the room rate is quite low. We find them delicious. Friendly and helpful receptionists. They allow us to leave our 2 big luggage with them for one night after checking out so I could just carry a small overnight bag to Cingjing. With the price we pay, we should not expect much. But end up I find it excellent! It really excceeds our expectation. Highly recommended.

Blood on walls, smell of smoke
Reviewed By Thomas RSo at the beginning of this review, I really cant stress enough that nothing in the hotel was clean. And i dont mean “it was old, so it wasnt clean”, i mean it was legitimately not clean (surfaces had dust on it, mold on the walls, stains in bed, etc). As soon as we opened the door to our room, our nose was filled with the fragrant aroma of cigarette smoke (in a non smoking room) and mold. Upon turning on the lights, we were welcomed with the stained and crack filled walls and protruding wires of our room (see photos). The bed smelled downright bad, and I doubt that the sheets get washed after every guest (or even weekly for that matter) and we ended up sleeping fully clothed as a result. The pillows also had a pretty bad smell to them. Believe it or not, the soap in the bathroom didnt even smell clean (which I didnt know was possible). Shower curtain was too short, and water sprays all over the floor when you shower. Toilet was average, so it has that going for it. Also there was blood on the walls in the bathroom (see photos). Things that were cool: in our room we had a full water cooler and refrigerator system. Having never seen one of these before I was slightly amused, although it belonged more in an office setting than in a room. The breakfast was really laughable (since it was one of the only features people recommended). It consisted of stale toast (no joke), rice, salad and tea eggs that were definitely multiple weeks old. Ended up going to 711 afterwards to get food as well. We tried to cancel our room and wouldnt let us for the second night. Guess they knew their hotel was this bad and had to take the money where they could. Ended up going back to Taipei and leaving the room empty the second night. In conclusion, the best parts of this hotel were below average and everything else was downright bad. Dont waste your money, there are cheaper places that are much nicer in Taichung - if you cant find somewhere cheaper stay in the train station or on the sidewalk, it will provide you with a better experience and will surely be cleaner.

Reviewed By paplumStayed here in double room for 3 nights. Rooms are basic but considerably roomy. Bed is quite comfortable. Light controls are right on the bed board with electric outlet. There is not enough USB power plugs. I appreciate the friendly and helpful front desk staff. Breakfast tastes decent, with congee, white rice, side dishes, salad bar, toast and ground to brew coffee. The downside is the location. Dirty streets, many adult entertainment businesses around. It does not feel comfortable walking around to attractions or restaurant s.

Reviewed By 164fransiscayThis Inn was really a tourist friendly, inside the room was super clean, the staff was super friendly,the breakfast was super good.the sharing bathroom insanely clean! Love it! The dining room was awesome, full of snacks and drinks especially during the night. Saw the review about the noise that came from the club but I just noticed a little sound. One things for sure, the neighborhood was insane full of beggar and scary pervert guy during night, so for the solo female travel I do really suggest 9pm please be at your room and don't come out during the midnight. Thankyou ease single Inn! Next time will be back here

The only issue was we didn't note that the hotel doesn't take credit card payment and only accepts cash. Thankfully we had sufficient cash. Otherwise the hotel was centrally located and it was easy to get by. It was definitely worth the money.
