Reviewed By kja91The hotel itself is amazing. The rooms were massive and spotlessly clean. The bed was large and comfy. The gardens outside were immaculate and we spent an afternoon at the bar just admiring the view. The hotel is located within the city walls. It’s in a great spot to explore Carcassone in the evening once all the crowds have disappeared and it feels less touristy. The parking is just outside the city. Once you park, you get driven to the hotel (only a few minutes drive). Unfortunately when we left, we had to wait about 20 mins to be driven to our car because the driver was stuck behind a few trucks that had come in. While not his fault, that coupled with terrible traffic caused us to miss our flight, which was quite frustrating. I would recommend the hotel - it is breathtaking and was a great experience.

Reviewed By old_retired_grouchLoved the hotel. Great location, just outside the walls. The pool was great on a hot day. The staff helped us with directions and places to eat. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace and breakfast outside on the terrace. Very pleasant people. Only issue was open air bike parking.

Wonderful hotel in perfect location for the old Citadel of Carcassonne or the lower main town.
Reviewed By Kim PCatherine and Jean Michel are the perfect hosts. The hotel is located in a traffic restricted street just over the old bridge Pont Neuf ... (no through road after 11 apart from residents) and it is lined with restaurants, bistros and little bars. A ten minute walk uphill to the old Citadel so a perfect location for walkers or cyclists. 20-30 minute amble downhill for the newer part of town (not that 14/15th century can be called new!) And the train station and shuttle to/from the airport. The rooms at the hotel are quite large, immaculate and well presented. With a third floor viewing terrace with vista of the old Citadel. We booked our visit back in 2019 pre Covid and the booking was honoured at the price we paid back then. We will be visiting it again as our two days simply wasn't enough.

Reviewed By M8497YPsandrabI would recommend this hotel for cleanliness and excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for this couple. The hotel has a swimming pool and drinks can be served around the pool. A car is needed to stay here but the hotel itself is situated in a lovely position just outside of Carcassonne. Continental breakfast can be purchased if needed. If there is a downside at all it is no restaurant for evening meals.I would recommend this hotel for relaxing after an hectic day around the city etc. A lovely hotel overall.

Reviewed By Peter John DLovely hotel in a beautiful location. Many hotels nowadays have the same facilities but a hotel that stands out, as this one does, never forgets the human side. A warm welcome, smiling obliging staff, friendly without being familiar, hands-on management and an ability to make a guest feel special. These are all qualities which cost nothing but which are sadly lacking in many hotels. The junior suite we had was very comfortable clean and well appointed. The general atmosphere was relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. M et Mme Rives dogs have the run of the place but we felt that it was not appropriate for them to be around guests who were eating as the dogs were constantly hovering around hoping for scraps. This is a successful family hotel and the owners can be proud of their achievements but the video on a loop in the bar area about the family is a bit excessive and made us concerned about their children’s privacy. A buffet breakfast would make life easier for the staff and it would be better if breakfast were served in another room and not in the bar area.

Added to that, our room was a good size and well appointed and the staff working in the hotel were very helpful and accommodating. I'd recommend a visit to Carcassone to anyone and, if you do so, then do consider this hotel for your stay.

Reviewed By Evy GLimited choice in the restaurant during the weekend, since we were the only customers. However, the food is always so tasteful, we didn't mind (although we prefer the usual buffet). Very friendly personnel (always!) and closed parking.

Just a few minutes walk from the old center of Narbonne where you can view the Cathedral (circa 1276) and the Palace of the Archbishops. Shops, cafes, and restaurants abound. The hotel is beautifully decorated, spacious, has a wonderful breakfast and friendly, attentive staff. Ask for a room with the Cathedral view!

Reviewed By Karen CPicked this hotel because of being in walking distance to the old city and good parking. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. All done with a smile. Booking in and out all very easy. The entrance, reception area had lots of space. Our room was large, clean and quiet. The bed very comfortable with good quality bedding. The bathroom spacious with a good shower area. Breakfast was included in the price. A large choice of items, constantly being refilled. Help yourself. Plenty of seating area also. Would certainly use this hotel again.
