Nice stay - under Covid-19 restrictions

Nice and quiet and we had a room facing away from the beach which shared a small balcony with the next room. Room well fitted out with fridge beuing useful - it was hot while we were there and there is no air-con but there were 2 powerful fans in the room. Breakfast OK despite restrictions in place and staff pleasant during check-in (over phone) and check-out (face to face). Small car park - they have 13 rooms and only about 8 spaces so very advisable to book. Arromanches has a lot of car parks but they do fill up and there is a free public car park opposite the hotel but it was mostly full except early morning.

Comfortable and quiet old seaside hotel
Reviewed By higvinPleasant old hotel right on the beach right in the centre of Arromanches. Comfortable rooms and beds with good bathrooms. Parking involved finding a spot in a public carpark close by - which was no drama. Be prepared to climb stairs. The hotel restaurant is managed separately. It doesn’t retain any antique charm even though the hotel is quite old. But it has great views over the sea. We enjoyed the oysters (Marais) - but be prepared to pay (€24 a dozen). Other dishes were also excellent - especially the artichaut tzatziki, avocat crevette and the calamari. But with two bottles of Chablis the bill was perhaps inevitably pretty high - €223 for three.

Reviewed By ellabowdenWe stayed here for one night before getting the ferry back from Caen. It’s nothing special but the staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. It’s a great base from which to explore the many brilliant D Day museums and there is a free car park in the town a 5 minute walk away. I appreciate not every parent would be happy doing this, but it was great that there is only one way in and out of the hotel and the baby monitor worked from the little restaurant down stairs (although the menu is a little limited) so we were able to have an evening meal which can be tricky with little ones. We had room 3 which also had a lovely sea view.

Disappointed
Reviewed By debbiebZ1145WLHotel was clean enough but some carpets were quite worn. Room no. 7 was dingy with dust under radiator and cobweb in top corner. It had 2 windows; one looked out on to everyone else's window and the other onto a staff stairway and service door whi h meant you heard all the kitchen activity from really early on in the morning. Plenty of tea and coffee. 3 single beds though for a married couple when we had asked for a double room? Hotel was busy but no leaflets or info in room, had to ask at reception for everything. Location was good to transport links. Restaurant staff were great except the 'maitre de' who was quite keen on telling you off if you sat in the wrong place.

Perfect for History and Hospitality

We spent 3 days in April, traveling with 2 young teen grandchildren. The two room suite was just right -- twin beds and privacy for them, a queen bed and sitting room area for us, with a spacious bathroom. We had views of the town, and also the DDay landing beach. Many excellent restaurants and museums were within easy walking distance. The breakfast spread was amazing (and we especially appreciated that it was accompanied by WWII era music). The B&B could also serve as a museum -- every room was furnished with antiques and WWII aviation memorabilia. American visitors need to be aware that many (most?) European facilities are not as ADA-friendly as we have come to expect in the states. Our suite was accessed via a beautiful narrow spiral staircase.

Another Great stay at Arroplace
Reviewed By Durs10I returned to Arromanche after a six year gap and once again chose to stay at Arroplace. That in itself is a reccomendation. Echoing what everyone else says the rooms are clean and tidy, the location is perfect and the host Jacques is excellent. Jacques sorted out a few logistical problems our group of 5 men touring the Landing beaches encountered.With the addition of free parking this really is the perfect place to stay when touring the Normandy beaches. Thanks once again Jacques for your help during our stay.
