very good

Reviewed By Turner S

The hotel is convenient because of the bridge connecting to the Célestins Spa. The hotel is quite nice and looks to have had recent improvements. I didn’t eat at the restaurant but it looked rather fancy. I did enjoy the bar and the terrace. On Saturday night they had live music in the bar. Pleasant surprise. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. My one improvement would be admission to the spa when staying at the hotel rather than just a discount for a spa pass. The spa is good but not as big as it looks.

Excellent stay at Vichy

Reviewed By Pierre-Louis B

We stayed one night in August with my wife and our two teenagers. All members of the staff were very helpful and kind. The situation of the hotel is perfect, close to the center of town. It is truly a charming place: the reception, the restaurant, or the rooms make you feel like you'd go back one century back in the past... with the right touch of modernism!

Much better than a normal Ibis rouge

Reviewed By Kenneth S

The guest rooms in this hotel are a much better size than you would normally find in an Ibis. I take the view that Accor probably bought the hotel from another operator, and that it was not built as an Ibis. As a result, there is adequate wardrobe space and the bathrooms are not cramped. The hotel has a good restaurant. In good weather, outside seating is available. The hotel has underground parking which is chargeable. At the time of my visit, this was costing €7.50 per day, which strikes me as reasonable for Vichy. There was plenty of space in the parking, there were no difficult or unsatisfactory access ramps. In addition, the elevators go down to the parking levels, which facilitates easy transfer of luggage on arrival and departure. I experienced some problem with internet access during my stay, but fortunately, it was short lived. If I return to Vichy, I may stay at this Ibis again.

Excellent Covid precautions. Comfortable hotel.

Reviewed By Genuine-traveller123

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews of Covid precautions. As a family very badly affected by the disease this year, this is an important factor for us. The systems at the hotel were excellent with screens at reception, staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser at the doors and elsewhere, and well spaced out tables in the breakfast room. Breakfast was served to you. Our only query would be whether some windows could be opened to allow fresh air into the breakfast room as the air got a little stale. The hotel is well located in the city centre near the river, and with secure parking. The room was spotless. We have now stayed twice, and we will return.

You get what you pay for with Ibis Budget but unfortunately this often does not include a plug for the wash basin or a proper dropped kerb at the entrance to the car park. This latter is particularly irritating for the rider of a fully laden motorcycle.

Located in the heart of Vichy in the Auvergne region, this Kyriad hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the SNCF train station. It offers a restaurant, a bar, and a parking. There is also a spa and wellness centre on site, where guests can relax at an extra cost. Each guest room is equipped with free WiFi internet and a flat-screen TV. The Kyriad’s restaurant serves French cuisine and a buffet breakfast. The Kyriad Vichy is a 3-minute walk away from the Palais des Congres and the Opera. Vichy Race course is a 8-minute walk away from the hotel.

Average rooms, no cleaning service and unexpected extra costs. Good location.

The hotel owners were very friendly. However, the rooms are quite outdated and you have to specifically request certain extra's (such as a teakettle). There was no cleaning service during my 8 day stay. Furthermore, on the website it seems that the spa is available to all guests but you need to pay extra to use it. Moreover, on the website it is also indicated that there is free parking which is not the case (parking on the street is not for free either). The breakfast was quite basic.

Hotel le Troncais

A superb restaurant (it deserves a Michelin Star), but an 'average' hotel.

Reviewed By solotravellerCanada

It's difficult to write a review that accurately describes this hotel. I'll start with the good news - the restaurant is outstanding in every way, truly first-class. It's expensive, but the food is well worth the price paid. Gracious service, and an elegant dining room. As for the hotel - be well-informed if you make a booking. The lowest-priced rooms are in a small building (an old coach-house) adjacent to the main building. These rooms are very small, and relative to the size, they are overpriced by about 25%. I understand that the rooms in the main building are larger, but be aware that they are significantly more expensive than the price you will see advertised on sites such as Booking.com, etc. That price is for the very small rooms in the coach house. But, although these rooms are very small, they are comfortable and well-equipped. If you only want a place to sleep and don't intend to eat at the restaurant, this is probably not the best hotel choice in the area, even though it is on a very quiet and peaceful estate with beautiful grounds. But, wow, is the restaurant ever good! Elegant French dining at its best.

Pleasant Hotel

Reviewed By tramontana44

The hotel is situated on the edge of the historic quarter of Montlucon. It is an easy walk around the area to view the half timbered houses etc. Our thanks to the young lady on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a problem where the curtain was broken, but we were swiftly given another room, which was very clean and tidy, with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast area was quite spacious and overlooked the rivetside. Breakfast consisted of breads, croissants, chocolate au pain, cereals, jams, scrambled and boiled eggs, together with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fruit juices. Thoroughly recommended.
