Dirty hotel, cheap breakfasts, poor value for money and unsafe bunk beds for children,

Reviewed By R3746CMelianeg

Our room was sold as a family room but the bunk beds are unguarded for children. The hostel is dirty, the breakfasts are poor quality, the staff are unhelpful and it is very poor value for money. When we complained, the management would not help at all.

Honestly don't get the high rated reviews

Reviewed By Arbox

Have stayed for three nights at Hostel One Centro. Perhaps it really depends on what you are looking for, but I do not get where the top reviews come from. Have stayed in dozens of hostels in South East Asia (Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and so on), Ecuador, and Poland so this was not my first time staying in a hostel. On arrival we were greeted by a guy behind the reception who was too stoned to even process a payment. Perhaps this is considered to be high standard in some hostels, but to me this was interesting to say the least. We stayed in a 4 persons dorm on the ground floor. Although the bunk beds were fine and the lockers provided were spacious, the rest was just poor. Bathroom was big - almost as big as the whole room - but very old and dirty. Dirty shower curtain, clear signs of mold. In addition, the room was next to the outside terrace - exactly - the place where the receptionist got stoned. Not only did this cause noise at night, the Amsterdam like smell of weed is terrible What was also interesting were the people hanging out in the central hall at 2 at night. They were quiet (that's a plus) but I still wonder what they were doing there. Speaking about the other guests, it all very much felt like hippie travellers (skate boards, dreadlocks, weed, ..). Receptionist would love these types of travellers I suppose... Would consider other hostels if ever returning to Seville again. To finish with some positive items - a plus for single travellers would definitely be that the hostel organizes social activities through a whatsapp group. Great way to meet people. Also, location wise it is great.

Genial

Reviewed By Pinguinina89

Worst experience of my entire life

Reviewed By jjroberts99

I have travelled half of the entire world. Have been to about 100 counties and have never had a worse experience in my entire life than staying at this place. I have stayed at roach and flea infested places in the jungle that were more pleasant than this place and I have never been discriminated against like I was here. Booked myself a bed in a mixed dorm. Checked in and found that of the whole dorm there was just me and 2 very shy Japanese girls that I did not speak to (they did not speak any English or Spanish). Spent the day out in the city, came home at night, and slept as normal in my boxer shorts. Went down to reception next day to extend my stay and was told by reception "no". When I asked why I was told that the 2 very shy Japanese girls were terrified of the idea of sleeping in the same dorm room as a man. In other words they did not understand the booking that they made and did not understand that they were in a mixed dorm. At this point the very rude and strident woman behind reception basically blamed me for their mistake. Blamed me for the fact that these 2 women have never slept in the same room as a man, went as far as suggesting that I stripped off totally (not possible I literally always sleep in boxers). Showed no interest in hearing what I had to say and basically treated me like dirt for simply being male. Never experienced such sexism before. It gets worse. When using my laptop on wifi to look for another place to stay there were 2 options. The reception and the cafe / bar (which is open to everyone) is basically the same level and floor and the kitchen is a few steps down. I was using my laptop and the wifi to search another place to stay and what do I find? The same awful, awful receptionist actually called the police! Can you believe it? Instead of politely asking me to move to the cafe / bar area (she said nothing about it not being ok to be in the kitchen) she chose to call the police and an armed polceman turned up to escort me from the premises. Never been escorted out of anywhere before for the crime of being male but this place managed to do it. Bravo! Anyway, if you are male, don't stay here. They hate men, won't listen to anything you say and will call the police on you because you have a penis. I tried to contact the head office of this place to tell them about my horrific experience but they don't even answer the phone or email. Avoid.

Don't be fooled by the pink, colourful and inviting decor

Reviewed By BeckiDance

From a hosting perspective, go with low expectations, and then lower them a bit more. My time here has endured being shouted at, harassed and bullied numerous times by the owners... ..and for what??? Closing a door (which happens to slam; sound insulation here is non existent, so expect to hear everything!) and taking a cup of coffee to my room! It's been a tough year for all of the hospitality industry, but the bottom line is, if you have paying clients, under no circumstances should they ever have to experience this type if sub-standard behaviour. The management not only lack the fundamentals of how to be even an adequate host, but instead excel themselves in rudeness and aggression. Their constant hostile and argumentative behaviour they've had towards me had been noted by several other guests, who are in disbelief at the way I've been treated. Honest option, stay elsewhere! unless you revel in the idea of having your mother, your boss and worst teacher at the same time.

We gave this hostal 4 stars because of the location, price, people, continental breakfast and terrace atmosphere. WiFi was good everywhere and the high quality hostel atmosphere within the room. Lots of night life closeby - participated in the New Years tradition of eating grapes for new years across the street (Scottish Pub). Walking distance to the river and city center.

No volveré

Reviewed By zaloa
