10 Top-Rated Hostels hotel in Costa Blanca, Province of Alicante, Valencian Country

April 26, 2023 Weston Hennigan

Costa Blanca is the name given to Alicante's coastline in Spain, which stretches over 200 kilometers. It is an incredibly popular holiday destination for tourists, because of the marvelous weather and beaches. Costa Blanca is family friendly, thanks to the huge range of activities available there from beaches and golf to museums and parks. There are the beaches, such as Los Náufragos in Torrevieja with its volleyball nets, golden sands and Blue Flag status, or smaller beaches like Serragrosa with its crystal waters, ideal for swimmers. But there are also golf courses (particularly the Villaitana club de golf near Benidorm) and watersports facilities and cultural sites like museums and galleries, such as the La Asegurada Municipal Museum in Alicante which has extensive collections of Spanish art. You will need a couple of weeks on the Costa Blanca just to scratch the surface of its entertainment potential.

Hostal L'Anfora

Great stay.

Reviewed By Rob_Louw123

Stayed 3 days at this place to visit my son that lives in Els Poblet. Truly a gem. Clean, friendly reception, WiFi works like bomb. Highly recommended, is in the middle of town with many restaurants and bars in the vicinity. I had a great view on the harbor. Only negative issue was an English couple that came in late and had a long and loud argument, obviously not the Hostal fault. Apart from that, this a great place to stay for a very good price.

Fabulous!

We did not actually get to stay here as we cancelled our booking. We were faced with no electricity in our apartment in Santa Pola and these guys could not have been more helpful. They strived to get us a room and then when our electricity came back on unexpectedly, they cancelled our room and didn't charge us! So grateful for their help and will absolutely book them if we need to. A great help at a very upsetting and stressful time :)

No 24 hour service, terrible customer service

Reviewed By Stefani W

(Background- I booked this through the Agoda app) I arrived at the hostel at 12:30am (which I included in the special requests section of my booking, although didn’t think it was necessary) and no one was there. The doors were locked, the doorbell went unanswered and all 3 phone numbers they had listed in on the door in case someone needed something went unanswered. I ended up having to call seven other hotels at 1am to find an available room and payed another $80 on top of what I had already paid for with my booking. I also had to walk an extra 30 minutes in an unfamiliar city at 1:30am as a woman alone. Now I know that not all properties have 24 hour reception, but I have never in all the countless hotels and hostels I’ve stayed in all around the world experienced one where they don’t have someone at least on call 24 hours. I think its ridiculous not to have someone available in case of something like this 24 hours a day, and if they do decide not to at least make it very clear when booking. I submitted a complaint and they wouldn’t even refund me the $13.50 I paid for a bed I never even got to see. Thankfully Agoda refunded me and were very helpful. This might not be an issue for many people, but it put me in a very stressful and potentially dangerous situation.

Stayed at this hostel 2 nites, 1st floor, view looking across into office windows over alley way. First the negatives....no reception, a guy waiting outside restaurant next door just appeared and let me in, first impressions looked like a converted apartment, my room had a very thin plasterboard wall separating my room to the next one( gap at the top left too)my bedroom door looked liked it had being busted a few times and door Handel loose in fact on my last day it came off in my hand, thank God was checking out as could not inform anyone anyway! On arrival they seemed to pressure not to take card payment as said just moving accounts, I didn't have cash but they appeared few hrs later with a card machine!!, cooking facilities not good, lack of clean tea towels, shower spray didn't fix on wall an no hot water in sink.kitchen stank of smoke as smoking on tiny balcony and left out ashtray yuk. Positives...very comfy mattress, great location, across road from beach, hand held shower but hot water. Would I stay here again....No !! Julie England

The hostel is underground making it a bit dark. It has no cooker so you cant cook food. Showers are cold. If you want the staff to treat you well make sure you book on booking.com for at least one night so you can leave a review. If you pay without using booking expect to be treated badly. That's how they keep their review so high. There is one spanish receptionist that was very friendly and smiley. She was nice.

Irati Benidorm

Good base within the old town

Reviewed By gashnleyna

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend (2nd June to Tuesday 7th June 2022) and had an enjoyable stay. Our last visit to Benidorm was in 2018, so it was good to be back. We had previously stayed in the new town so this time around we thought we’d check out the old town and we weren’t disappointed. We booked our transfer with shuttle direct, and the bus dropped us off at the port Mar Blau hotel. We arrived at the Irati about 4ish and were expecting a reception area. The entrance to the building was locked and we started to panic. We pressed the button that said reception and a chap come to the door. He said our keys had been placed in a lock box (on the front of the door) and we should have received an email to confirm the code. We didn’t receive an email before leaving for Benidorm and when we checked our emails the code had been sent an hour before we landed. Some feedback would be for the code to be provided a decent time before arrival. We had corresponded with the Irati beforehand and requested a double bed and a hairdryer, in which both requests were honoured. We were based in room 9 which had an excellent balcony. The room was decent enough for our short stay. The bed was comfy, and the air-con worked a treat. There was plenty of storage space, fridge and sockets. The shower pressure and temperature were spot on. The wi-fi worked excellent too. We also asked for an iron but they said one couldn’t be provided, so we had to bring our travel iron. We slept well without any noise or disturbances. There was a sign in the bathroom that confirmed towels and linens would be changed on the third day. Our room was serviced daily and there was only 1 day when we didn’t have clean towels. It’s a bit of a hike getting up the stairs (very steep) so I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have mobility issues. Breakfast is served 8.30 to 10.30. We were down 8.30 on the dot. The breakfast choice is tea/coffee/juice, an omelette with toast or an English breakfast. We went with the English breakfast which consisted of 2 bacon, 1 sausage, 2 toast, mushrooms and tomatoes . It was fantastic and filled us up until the evening. The staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly and helpful. We struggled to find our pickup time for the coach and one of the ladies tried calling the place to find out for us. The walk to the new town was about 20 mins. There is mercadona supermarket just around the corner from the Irati. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the Irati. It acted as a good base and was in an excellent location within the old town.
