Reviewed By tianaaaa2022Very dusty room with dirty table, floors and around wall edges were dusty. no tea or coffee facilities like a kettle and ingredients and only 2 pillows on the bed and no spare. The bed was quite comfortable though

Quality studio apartments hotel ( all with own bathrooms),each suits maximum 2 person. Extreme handy location. Moments to the Italian forum and Norton Street's cafe's and restaurants. Minutes walk to Leichhardt Library and Coles supermarket. A few steps to public transport which goes to city every 4 minutes.
A little customer service could go a long way.

The male clerk’s demeanor during check was not at all welcoming and it seemed like my arrival was a big inconvenience to him. Granted I did arrive at 1.15pm and had no issues waiting but the room turned out to be ready so why the attitude I don’t understand. No thank you or well wishes when handed back the key to a female staff member neither. - Lack of privacy feeling/very thin walls. Can hear conversations in the corridor word for word as clearly as if they were stood In the room with you and having the room closest to reception was a constant. Made me feel uncomfortable.

Reviewed By boltonian93We booked this hotel for an overnight stay in Sydney before we boarded our cruise the following day. We were won over mainly by the price and after reading a number of good reviews and looking at the photos of nicely presented rooms we booked it. This is where the good part of the review ends. The entry to the hotel is located in a dingy, rear entry to what I assume was a restaurant that has not seen a mop in a long time and you are instantly greeted with a stench of sewerage. We waited for the lift with our noses and mouths covered to try and avoid the smell, we got in the lift to finally breathe some fresh air to discover that the smell only gets worse, you know that the facilities management is aware of the situation as they kindly installed one of those automatic air wick air fresheners in the lift... it had run out of spray. When we got to the reception on level 4 we entered a very cramped and basic reception area, but this was at least cleaner than what we had experienced so far (which wasn't overly difficult), we got our keys to our rooms which leads on to part 2 of the review. The rooms were EXTREMELY small and cramped. Very, VERY, basic and plain - nothing at all what they looked like in the photos on the site we used to book the hotel and the bed was most certainly not a queen. We dropped our bags off in our room and wandered down the hall to have a look at my sister's room, the walls in the hallway were all chipped and dented. Majority of the holes had been refilled but not sanded back or repainted - it looked an absolute mess. Outside my sister's room were trolleys full of laundry (towels, sheets etc) not stored away out of sight. We were then hit by the stench of sewerage again which permeated throughout my sister's entire room. Their room was almost a carbon copy of ours, plain, basic and cramped just with an additional single bed. To escape the stench we walked to my parent's room, and theirs was disgusting. Again a carbon copy of what we had but the walls had stuff all splashed up them - but at least it didn't smell. It was there we decided that we can't spend any more time here, let alone the night. We all checked out and found a different hotel to stay at. This is 100% a "you get what you pay for" scenario. Do not be fooled by the attractive pricing and pictures of welcoming rooms - this is not at all what you get. Do yourself a favour and save yourself time and money by spending that little bit extra on a decent hotel. We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn around the corner which was only an extra $80 than what we had originally paid and the difference was night and day.

When my surgery was canceled (noopen beds in ICU), made my way back and checked in for another week. Realizing my Covid negative test would be out of date by following Wednesday, asked staff if they knew of a nearby walk in testing site. Staff put heads toether, found a nearby site, and staff member Mark walked me several blocks to the site, and back to the hotel. Im from country and do not know my way around. Cannot overstate how much I appreciated Mark going above and beyond the call to help me out! Good location, plenty of good places to eat. (coming from small town country, this is a big plus! Also, walking distance from Kings Cross rail station.

Complete disappointment
Reviewed By LynHendersonOkeI had the misfortune of staying at this place from 13-15 June. The checkin went well with a pleasant, friendly, helpful receptionist. Although the room hadn't been cleaned, she allowed me to leave my bags there as I was early. Things went downhill from there! A warning notice stated that one must leave the bathroom door closed when showering, and the window of the room open afterwards due to sensitive smoke detectors. I complied, but when I tried to open the window, I found that not only did the surrounds have a thick coating of filth on them, it was impossible to keep the window open. It didn't lock and the surrounds had disintegrated to the point that daylight could be seen through the bottom. The balcony also looked as if it had never seen a cleaner! Just to add insult to injury, when I turned down the bed, it looked as if the sheet was stained. I quickly realized it wasn't the sheet, but the bloodstained mattress protector that was showing underneath....I nearly vomited!! Because it was Sunday, reception was closed, so I slept on the other side of the bed. Reception was also closed on Monday (a public holiday) and on checkout, my comments were met with indifference.

Otherwise, I'd say there are better facilities elsewhere, than what this one offered !! To me, who had stayed for 5 nights, I experienced downsides and negligible services more than good experiences, no pleasant memorable take-aways: (1) The Reception Office is located across the road from where the studio unit/block I stayed in, and every time you need something, you will have to walk across to seek help... there is no direct telephone connection from one's room to the reception desk. (2) Upon check-in, there was no proper explaining to where things were in the unit. (3) Well, being "budget" as it came across, the unit looked scant; the carpets not clean; the oven and microwave were not clean out. There were some food scraps in the refrigerator. The television was not functioning. (4) Although the conditions of the oven and microwave etc. was brought to the attention of management, and promise of fixing, absolutely nothing was done to clean them. The kitchenette cabinets were dirty and stained. Which guest (s) would help Waldorf to wipe away those dirty spots and stains, for god's sakes ???!!!! (5) The television was re-set and fix on my 2nd last day stay. But alas, I could only watch from about 6 pm to 9.00pm, after which the channels just dropped out (stopped). No amount of tweaking would make it work and the screen just flashed up "NO SIGNALS". Gosh, was so frustrating ! No TV for 4 days & on the 5th day, its just short-lived ! (6) Its not a "service-apartment" as its practically "self-service" at all times. Bedsheets, towels and toiletries were attended to "one-off". One checked-in and then those items will be expected to last or used over the duration of stay. No changing of towels or bedsheets at all !! It was so unpleasant and nothing was informed/updated but totally left to "one's own devices", (well, it did feel like that) . Payments were not supported with invoice or payment advice etc..... you are never informed beforehand and then found yourself charged for something with no warning or alert / caught by surprised !. So who ever is booking, make sure you firm up on the terms of payments 100% certainty , otherwise you might be in for some shocks !! Good Luck to all future travellers who so decide to pick Waldorf Drummoyne Service Apartments !!. For those who have had a good stay, you are lucky !! My experience: Never to go back there ever again !! Regretful, I cancel and earlier booking of another service apartment elsewhere just because to be nearer to relatives - wrong decision and definitely wrong move on my part !! Hell!

Fabulous 3 bedroom penthouse!!!

The place is very well located close to shops, restaurants, bars, central station and bus stops. Very close to Sydney's CBD and to the harbour via public transport. Small woolworths food market and a Coles supermarket available nearby walking distance. The apartment is fabulous!!! We stayed in the 3 bedroom penthouse with beautiful views, very spacious, very well furnished and equipped. Just like in the website's pictures, they are all true. Find the description directly on their website. Apartment is equipped with a full laundry wich allowed us to travel light knowing we would be able to wash clothes, and washing soap is even included. The kitchen is completely equipped as well, with anything you need from dishes, pans, pots, cutlery, glasses, fridge, stove, oven, tea kettle, etc. You even get a microwave and a bread toaster. You don't have to buy anything for your stay as the property includes dishwashing soap, paper/cloth towels, tea bags, coffee, etc. The apartment is impecable. Everything in top maintenance and working conditions (surface finishes, applicances, bathrooms, lighting, carpets, etc). Beds and pillows super comfortable, they really help you sleep well. You won't find any stains, funny or bad odours, and the best of all...no noise!! It´s really quiet, windows block outside noise very effectively, and even the air conditioning/heating system is reeeeeaalllly quiet. About temperature, we could very effectively control it to our needs. Although all communication is digital (no personal contact) the manager Suzanne Wood was really helpful and kind to me, solving all my issues. I'm glad I chose this hotel for our 12-nights long stay. If I'll ever go back to Sydney I'll definitely come back to this place!!!!!

THE WORST HOTEL in Sydney !!!!

I had the most horrendous experience in this place on Monday the 30th may 22 with my young niece who was accompanying me on a trip absolutely filthy and disgusting. the pillow cases were yellow with urine stains the taps were falling off & the doors would not close. we were totally ripped off by this woman for the tune of 750 Australian dollars which we are now pursuing. We have video and photos to back up our claims. the woman who runs it was absolutely outrageous in her behaviour and her tone. she scared my niece .please do not go to this hotel do not get confused and think it’s part of a hotel chain it's not it's a filthy disgusting fleabag pit ! Anybody that wants to see video and images I'm quite happy to show them when we complained her rhetoric was outrageous. all reviews on booking.com can't be true .shame on booking.com for allowing this sort of disgusting place to exist during a time of COVID.Her behaviour was like she had done it many before in the past. If you look at this hotel you believe that you were booking somewhere else. we left right away

Unable to contact for a refund. I would give 0 stars if i could. Avoid at all cost he will take your money.
