10 Top-Rated Condos in Colorado

April 18, 2023 Kiesha Cripe

Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

Nice unit. Very noisy.

Reviewed By 553missyd

The unit, pool and hot tub are very nice and the location is great. The common areas need some clean up. Looks sort of junky in the hallways. There was unfortunately a lot of noise coming from the unit above us. It sounded like they were moving furniture all night. Getting to bed early as planned was not possible as a result. The front desk said they tried to help but I ended up having to talk to the people above us myself.

Great location, especially if visiting CSU

This is a nice boutique hotel in a residential neighborhood. It is one block off College Ave/287, which means you're a one block walk over to Colorado State University campus. There are lots of restaurants nearby and downtown is a short drive or a somewhat longer walk. There is one dedicated parking space per flat and it makes getting in and out easy. The area bustles with activity but it is quiet and safe. The room contained several nice touches like qtips in the bathroom, beer in the fridge, tea and K cups, etc. There is one flat that is pet friendly. Each flat has a small patio area.

Pros and cons. As I have detailed. We won’t be back overall

Reviewed By txtravelor_7

For us these were the big pros (P) and cons (C): P: cheap and was available as a time share exchange C: not ideal location if you want to use the free shuttle. Even with a car off season we used the shuttle multiple times to get the experience C: uphill walk from bus stop after a long day C: no washer dryer in unit. We went to laundromat in Frisco C: pool was closed our week and I had called to ask if they had pool towels and what temp they keep pool. Never told me not to pack my 2 swim suits when I called week prior C: we had to turn the heat completely down to lowest 55 and finally hooked up the 2 extra fans in addition to using the 3 ceiling fans to move air. I can’t imagine the summer as there is no AC C: open windows to get fresh air and you hear road noise from RT 70 til late at night P: they do give you 2 standing fans as they know it is hot P: there is a humidifier in closet. We would love to use it but we don’t know if clean if water and mold left in water chamber Air is dry P: love the complimentary shampoo and body wash P: kitchen well stocked with plates and glasses for 12 P: very good quality beds pillows towels and sheets. High count Egyptian cotton. I looked at the label C: unit is dated but I see they try to maintain. Steps and decking shows wear P: close to the gore creek trail which we walked. Front desk told us how to walk up hill around to get to trail if heading toward vail C: on a residential street and not really a vacation destination. Could be a P if you like not being in the heart of town. I have stayed in worse. I have stayed in better. Overall for a budget friendly stay the beds and sheets and high quality towels make it all ok. Most of vail was closed our week. We loved downtown Frisco and had to drive to Edwards. Or Avon to eat out. Yes we bought groceries and cooked in Overall the beauty of the mountains made this resort a star better.

Nice location, terrible beds!

Reviewed By 970emilianad

This hotel has an excellent location, however, it is severely understaffed and the beds are terrible! Haven’t been able to sleep well because of the poor quality of the mattresses and pillows. If this issue was solved I would give it a much higher rating, but not having a comfortable bed makes it very hard to enjoy our stay.

The Village at Steamboat Springs

Better be a Wyndham Owner!!

Reviewed By cindyvanmeter

I waited until after the week here to write my review because I was so angry when we checked in that it wouldn’t have been fair. The location of the condo is beautiful! The city and area offer many things to do and see. You need a car to see the sights and get to town. However, Walmart etc. are close. We traded our week in the Mexican Riviera for Steamboat Springs as we didn’t want to leave the US during Covid19. We arrived at 4:30 PM and the condo wasn’t ready. The attendant said it would be another 30 minutes and they would call our cell phone. After more than an hour of waiting, we went back to the office and it was ready, but they had forgotten to call us. The staff used all of the precautions during check-in, the condo was clean (couldn’t tell if it was sanitized), masks were required as well as social distancing. We have been here before two years ago and were put into Building 1 which is NOT air-conditioned. When we checked in we found out that only Wyndham members could get air-conditioning. We offered to pay extra to get AC and they said it couldn’t be done. So here we are with noisy fans in Building I again. It cools off enough at night that with windows open you can at least sleep with cool air and noisy fans, and the area is remote enough that it is quiet outside. The condo is, as I said, clean and well stocked but in terrible condition. The beds were comfy, and the water was hot with great pressure. Everything needs to be updated and repaired! The furniture was clean but old. The Formica in the kitchen was tapped on, as was the doorknob on the front door. Speaking of the front door, our keys worked the first time but the next day when we came back to the condo they didn’t work. My husband had to make three trips to the office before we got in. Then later that day the keys wouldn’t work again and they sent a very nice young man that had to change the batteries. The knobs were missing on the kitchen cabinet which made it difficult to get stuff from under the sink, so we switched knobs from a high cabinet. Then; we discovered why the knobs weren’t there. You couldn’t open the oven door when the knobs were there. The drawer below the oven, where the pans were, fell out when I opened it and thank the Lord I was quick enough to get my toes out of the way or they would have been hurt badly with the heavy drawer full of pots and pans. Now I’m going to be nit-picky. The blinds on the upper windows were caked with dust which was very visible from the upper floor. A long-handled duster would have knocked off the majority of that and given guests a better feeling of cleanliness. I don’t think we will give this place a 3rd chance or ever go to a Wyndham property again.

Perfect Location- A reasonable stay.

Reviewed By saintpetermatt

When you accept this is a 3 Star property, this is an ok experience for the rate. It is rather remarkable that Winter Park apparently lacks all the other amenities of other resorts because the skiing and slopes are excellent. The lifts and trails are perfect, and coaching staff all first rate. Be forewarned that if you come to this resort after around 6, your options for food and booze are entirely limited or totally unavailable. I just cannot understand why the resort wouldn’t make reasonable accommodations for weary travelers ....much less anything basic like a freaking bottle of water for crying out loud. We checked several rooms and all were similarly mediocre. Now granted we were at the tail end of the season and it felt like everyone and everything was just done. All that said I would stay again...if the rate was cheap enough.

Great Unit but Kinks with Property

Reviewed By TravelingMamaGlv

We really liked our Founders Pointe unit (4340) as it was spacious, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. It was also nice to walk to dinner across the street. However, we were disappointed that the hot tub was drained due to a pipe issue. A key reason we had chosen this property was to use the hot tub after a day of hiking. Also, we woke up to loud construction outside our window on 2 out of 3 mornings.
