We stayed in site #20 which had a beautiful view of the woods and was very private. The campground was extremely quiet and very well taken care of. Bathrooms were very clean. Hookups were easy and well positioned. Would definitely come back! Kenny was so helpful getting us into the campsite! Fantastic hiking nearby!!

My husband and I really enjoyed staying in The Pines Cottages! Our quaint and cozy unit was very clean. Check-in was quick, the management went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and there was such a wonderful feeling of home. In the evenings we sat by the fire pit and visited with other people staying in the cottages or could relax on the porch swing. Plus, the price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay there again and will encourage friends to stay there when in the Asheville area!

Bait and switch!

Reviewed By CarolinaBecky

Our yurt was a mixed adventure. It is set in a beautiful green meadow overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains. But it is very close to other yurts. The yurts could have been cozy (the AC and heating are good), there is a nice skylight, but they seem haphazardly furnished from some secondhand store with a ratty futon, a queen bed with an unattached iron headboard that clanged against the wall with every adjustment of the pillow. We had to make the twin bed. Our parking area had no lighting ( but others did). But the main complaint was the bait and switch: descriptions said “private bathroom” but they neglected to say it was in a washhouse about 50 yards away, a bit challenging in the dark since it had no light outside the building. They did have a small flashlight attached to our keys but one still had to navigate around holes and firepits in the dark The keyed bathroom was spartan but well heated, water was hot and towels fluffy. With some small investment this could have been special.

We were in the new section where bath house was still being build. It was not a typical thousand trails with annual zipping around in golf carts all the time. There did seem to be a large number of annual sites. We would have stayed two weeks, but the 10th (one day only)was completely blocked out and reservations could do nothing to help, so we are moving on.

Stayed in the bunk house and one of the efficiencies. Love the upgrades, beautiful place to rest and unwind. We enjoyed the hikes to the waterfalls. Some went more than once to them. Very beautiful. The men enjoyed trout fishing in the lake and pond fishing in front of the efficient cabins. The kitchen in the bunk house is spacious and well stocked. We enjoyed horseback riding on the trails and in the ring. Some of the children enjoyed swimming in the pond. My church plans to attend next year.

Dumpsters were overflowing for days. Toilets clogged with crap in them. No one cleans the restrooms. Nothing good about this place. 1000 Trails should be ashamed!!!

A river in the backyard w fire pits!!! BEST view and serenity!

The serenity and gorgeous views in the back made this the best place to stay two minutes from Chimney Rock Park. Enjoyed the evening on the swing listening to the roaring sound of the river right in the backyard while others built fires in the riverside fire-pits under a star lit sky. Spent the morning sitting on a huge rock in the river soaking in the sun. The hosts Tim and Yvonne were warm and truly welcome their guests like family! They made the stay feel like home!!! Fairly priced, clean rooms. so glad to have found this place!

Great Escape

Swiss mountain is a wonderful place for a getaway. Short driving distance from Fort Mill, SC. It was perfect for my sister and I to bring our families to. Units are spacious, full kitchens and washer/ dryer in unit. Grocery, restaurants, skiing and tubing all close by. Everything was well maintained and comfortable. We’ve been going here for over 20 years, since we were kids and have a great experience each time. There is plenty to do all year long in the area. We look forward to going up there every year.

Stay anywhere else

Reviewed By jasminepQ2638JD

Owner has zero integrity and is quite argumentative and always has something to snap back at. Aka excuses rather than being a quality owner. Only communication that was had was when she reached out to ask me for more money. When we arrived nothing was as promised. We decided to not stay because it was dark and at this point I had reached out to the owner hours prior with no response. (She of course was quick to only respond when the conversation was about money) She never responded only until I canceled the reservation and left. Stay anywhere else. Especially for a 5 by 5 treehouse with only a bed in it. Not even a candle! Regardless of any of her excuses I’m sure you’ll hear there are PLENTY of other cabins that go the extra mile with their patrons. This place just wants your money only to offer the bare minimum. This place stole my money $230 and I did not receive any service or an offer of even a partial refund. And I asked! Of course this is when she became silent in the conversation because she has no integrity. For a small owned business you think the owners here would have more integrity and a moral compass to do the right thing. Stay at a small owned business that deserves your money.
