Cabin Camping

Reviewed By Kristin E

My friends recently invited my husband and I to go camping with them, but we do not have a camper. They picked this location and with trepidation we booked a camping cabin. To our delight, the cabin was spotless and very comfortable! We had a deluxe with a private bathroom, one queen bed, bunk beds, a full size refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. They provided bedding, towels, TP, Paper towels, dish soap and even some coffee pods (single serve Keurig). My favorite spot was our swing on our "front porch" which was a perfect spot for my morning coffee. The camp staff was fantastic offering assistance when we needed it, leaving us be when when didn't. The place was clean and quiet although they are going through some growth right now. New management has some great plans like including some welcome info and starting a recycling program. We would stay with them again. Sites were good sizes and well spaced and the camp store was well stocked. Fire rings were a little close to the edges of sites which made it difficult for six of us to gather at the campfire, but we worked it out. I highly recommend the camping cabins if you want to relax in this type of atmosphere, but find yourself without a camper. A quick drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, or just relax on the property.

My family just returned from a lovely stay at Imagination Campground. PROS: -Small, very well maintained private campground -Friendly and accommodating staff -Close to Gatlinburg snd Pigeon Forge, but not too close (like 30 mins) -It’s all in the DETAILS: Mini-golf, hammocks, corn hole, ice cream parlor, adorable gift shop, gem mining, giant chess set, pirate ship playground, 2 creeks to explore, activities, clean bathhouse — and that was with much still closed for the season! -Very reasonably priced stay (firewood too!) CONS: -Nicely equipped clubhouse/game room, but many of the games were broken or accepted coins and then didn’t work -If you’re in a space close to the main road, traffic noise is probably very loud

Cosby Campground

Great campground but limited facilities

Reviewed By chazwill

I camped here for four nights in October. Very large campground that was almost full when I was there. Some great trails originate at or near the campground., and it's not far from Gatlinburg. The campers were diverse and well behaved. Only negative was the lack of showers and the lack of hot water in the bathrooms.

Caribou pines cabin

Reviewed By chelsieh812

My fiancé, myself and our 2 year old son took our first family vacation together since our son was born, and we stayed in the Caribou Pines cabin in Cosby from 4/1-4/8 and we could not have been more thrilled with the cabin and our entire stay ! The cabin itself was nestled in the mountain and was so peaceful. It had a very welcoming and cozy cabin feel! Our son absolutely loved it ! And being only 30 minutes from Gatlinburg and Piegon Forge was so ideal ! We will absolutely 100 percent be back to the Caribou Pines cabin again! We absolutely fell in love with the cabin and the mountains!

Cramer's Creekside Cabins

Cleaner than expected. Great place to stay a few days.

The country life cabin was FAR cleaner than posted in a lot of the pictures. I was expecting the worst and it was actually a fantastic stay. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit and all the games in the loft. We had some bugs, but that's to be expected in the woods. I would recommend it.

Wonderful Experience

Reviewed By Meggsjoy33

Cabin (Eagles Nest) was perfect for 2 families with kids ( 6 ppl). Quiet and secluded, but had everything we needed for a perfect weekend. Having never been to the Smokey Mountains before, the steep windy roads threw me for a loop. I would recommend arriving in the daylight! But the cabin was great! I wouldn't say you have a 'view' per se as it was surrounded by trees, but it was beautiful there. Kitchen had everything we needed and the screened in porch with table was perfect for playing games. It rained most nights, so we didn't do the fire-pit. The hot tub was nice. It was close to the white water rafting, and the horseback we also booked was about 45 min away. I think our favorite was the Gabes Mountain Trail - Hen Wallow Falls hike we did that was near the Cosby campground. A great hike just about 5 min away from the cabin.

Firewood and showers

Reviewed By wilkinson77

SMNP requires heat treated firewood for campfires. Cosby Campground has no showers. This place addressed both issues and in a very pleasant and convenient manner. First, it is located just outside of the park entrance for Cosby campground. And I mean just outside. The wood comes with a paper of certification just in case the rangers accost you. After two nights in Cosby and two nights in the trail, we needed showers badly. Cosby ranch(or run) charged us $6 for a shower. Hell yes. No time limit. Very clean. It must be a brand new facility, because it looked just built. Adjustable water temps and got hot quickly. Contrary to older posts, this place has new owners. We were met by a lovely lady who was very friendly, helpful and informative. She used to be a physician. I don’t know anything g about staying g on the premises, but is looked all new and clean. You can tell she takes pride in it. She was very excited to tell me about renovating the front office/store. I’d like to go back to see her progress. Please disregard older posts. She was super sweet(as was her cat and doggy, which she found on the side of a highway and rescued). I guess the point is, need a shower if staying at Cosby Campground? Go there.

Serenity Falls Cabins

Not too bad, would stay again

Reviewed By tanyasX7413ZT

Ok, first impression was "Oh my gosh this looks run down and the owners house is RIGHT THERE" Yep, he lives right across the driveway. So then the owner, and his sons and some of his dogs welcome us and tells us of the history of the cabin we will be staying in; it used to be a general store and the top was added to the original building, kinda cool. My word to descibe it downstairs is RUSTIC. We did not spend much time downstairs as the bedrooms and our bath and back deck were all upstairs. The bed was very comfortable!! We slept very well. We put the windows up and could hear the water rushing through the creek. It was great. The kitchen (downstairs) is very basic..has stove, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Very little silverware so we used plastic. However there were plates and pots and pans to use for cooking. It served its purpose. There was cable, I did not watch much TV but the couple we went with did. The wifi is very spotty. We found the "hotspots" in the cabin and went there if we needed service. Extra towels, toilet paper, trash bags and any other items such as that were provided quickly upon request. The owner provided us with a few extras and a lot of recommendations along the way, which were valuable as we are only somewhat familiar with the area. On the property there is a small waterfall and while sitting on the deck we could watch and hear the water. We all really enjoyed that. We walked along the water a little ways to check it out closer. The owner being close ended up not being a bother for us as we spent most of our time there on the back deck, which is very private ( and the creek runs beneath it...soo nice), or sleeping. We were not bothered by the dogs, they popped over to visit us a couple times but were very firendly and we are dog people. If you are looking for exquisite, modern, perfect and tech advantaged do not stay here...save it for the rest of us that don't mind the rustic, antique charm. Also... the cabin we were in (General Store) had no bedrooms downstairs and the staircase to the second level has a twist. So, not for the handicapped. Bottom line....we were unsure when we arrived but unanimously decided we would go back by the time we left.

Nature's finest

I rented the honeymoon cabin because I was traveling solo with my dogs. It was cute & cozy, just the right size for 1 or 2. Property is pet friendly without restrictions. It's close to amenities but feels very secluded. I spent 3 days and never heard anything but the near by creek and birds. Even solo I felt very safe staying here (even with bears) The grounds are beautiful. There's a common area for guests right next to the creek with a picnic table and fire pit. This particular cabin does have some limitations if you have mobility issues. I absolutely love this place and plan to stay here every time I go to the area.
