Reviewed By shun821I knew it's gonna be small when I booked, and yeah, really a small room where you open the door and it only took one step in to reach your bed. They provided pajamas and basic toilet amenity. Bathroom and toilet located same level of your room. One thing I like is that they have an shared osen (though not a big one) at 2F for guest to use! Overall, I guess for the price I paid, a good one night stay.

Reviewed By Bobby LOdd hotel and the check in is very confusing. See side door if late, walk in, take elevator down, use mobile that is at the desk to reach someone. It is cheap here, good location and walkable. The basics were there.

A more than wonderful stay
Reviewed By richard_ulisI was a guest of our hotel in Dec 2019. Because of my study pressure, it is just today that I can write my feelings. When I came in the lobby, it was so cozy !! That is the most appreciating aspect when I stay in a hotel in general and in La Inn in particular. We thoroughly enjoyed the room as well, with sufficient comforts (the soft light, the spacious and clean bed, the airy space, the modern and reasonably-arranged bathroom (I mean the toilet and the shower are separated) and so on). We also had a tasty and satisfying breakfast ? What made it become so enjoyable ? First, it is unforgettable for us to be well served by the enthusiastic waitress. She always smiled and helped us do everything when we faced some issues. Next, the dishes also enhanced our appetite, with traditional ones. We found them delicious! Third, we appreciated the complementary condition of ice cream and soft drinks. If my memory serves me correctly, never in my life have I enjoyed free drinks, free ice cream at a hotel like La Inn. Last but not least, we would like to attach photos of the restaurant due to its beautiful view and cozy interior decoration, which I only want to feel relaxed myself for a long time here. After having checked out, we went sightseeing. Fortunately, when we came back to pick up our baggage, we were extremely happy to find that my sunglasses had been found and kept. I didn’t know that I left it behind, or else, I could have had no chance to wear it anymore. In a nutshell, this hotel is deserved to be introduced and I believe it will fully meet the guests’ demand, not only because of its convenient location (close to the night market and Formosa station), but also its facilities. It was a little pity that we only had a night here and I wish I had stayed here longer to enjoy the overall convinience.

Hok House hotel, a converted mansion from the Japanese colonial-era, is not only a fine example of this itself in the form of boutique accommodation. But it also functions as a guide, with their own tastefully curated map and handy mobile app, to the constellation of like-minded pleasures in the neighbourhood around Formosa Boulevard MRT—a stone’s throw away from Liu He night market. From the moment of checking-in from the tropical heat, you are greeted by a friendly concierge, dressed in comfy clothes, offering cotton slippers and a cold-brewed oolong tea refreshment. The wood, rattan, and sepia interior furnishings; ambient temperature control; tatami book lounge; community kitchen and, of course, bedroom is inviting and soothing. We booked directly from their website, which unlocks a complimentary breakfast perk. This is will be our first choice of stay next Kaohsiung visit. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By MoimoiY2歳3ヶ月の息子と夫婦で、バスの2段ベッドがあるファミリールームを予約しました。最初はbooking.comから予約しておりましたが、クレジットカード支払いが選択出来ないため、現地でキャッシュ払いをする予定でした。このゲストハウスは、メインドアと、各部屋のドアにナンバーキーがついており、支払いが済めばそれぞれの番号を教えてもらえるシステム。フライトの関係でチェックインの時間が19時以降と遅い予定だったこともあり、当日受付にスタッフ不在のため、前払いを要求されました。ネット予約してすぐに、チェックイン時間を確認していただき、上記の旨のメールを後日受け取っていたのですが、私の確認不足＆リクエストしない限り直接のメッセージは中国語であったことから、宿泊前日までこの事実に気づきませんでした。やたらbooking.comからメールと電話があるのでこのことに気づきましたが（遅）、連休中に台湾の口座に振り込むのは困難であり、手数料も部屋代の1/3ほどかかることから、宿泊前日にゲストハウスのラインアカウントから言い訳がましい文章とともに連絡をとってみました。。。 すると、非常に丁寧な説明で、一旦予約を取り消して、添付のOwlnestというサイトから予約を取り直せば、クレジットカードで支払いができること、その際キャンセル料が発生するメッセージが出るが、もちろん請求はしないから安心してほしいとなどの旨のメッセージがすぐ送られてきました。Owlnestで予約後またすぐにナンバーキーの番号と、ゲストハウスまでの行き方、タクシーに乗るときに運転手に見せる地図、外観の写真などが送られてきました。泊まれなかったらどうしようと焦っていた私は、本当に感激しました。また、Owlnestでの支払いのほうが、手数料の関係か100元安かったです、ラッキー☆ 実際に行ってみると、六合夜市からほど近いですが住宅地？というかちょっと夜は暗めな場所にあり静かでした。他の方の口コミではうるさいとあるので、この部屋だけ奥まっていて静かだったのかしら。駅から子どもとゆっくり歩くと10分くらいかかります。 部屋は一階の奥で、廊下の途中ウォーターサーバーや冷蔵庫がありました。かわいい字で説明があるのですが、すべて中国語のためわかりません（汗）お水は少し頂きました。部屋の中に靴置き場が無いのですが、部屋のドアの外に靴袋が複数ぶら下がっており、ここに入れればいいのね、という解釈でした。2階以上の部屋の人は、まとめて靴置き場が冷蔵庫の隣にあり、スリッパで上階に上がるシステムの様でした。 建物は古そうですが、部屋は清潔で縦に長細く広く、子ども用の歯ブラシなどのアメニティも一通り置いてありました。おもちゃがいっぱいあり、見るなり息子は大興奮。ルームフレグランスが苦手な香りなのが個人的にやや残念でした。 部屋はwifiが繋がるはずなのですが、なぜか夫婦二人とも接続できず…チェックアウトの際は、ラインで連絡が必要だったそうですが、SIMをケチってしまったのでラインを確認できず。次の宿に着いてから気づくという度重なる体たらく。誠に申し訳ない。そして結局ここのスタッフとは一度も顔を合わせることがありませんでした。会えたら色々お礼を言いたかったのに。朝も居ないし、受付業務はできるだけ省いているようですね。 アクセスは非常によく、まっすぐ歩けば六合夜市の端に出ます。市議會駅という隣駅まで歩ける距離で、そこには朝食で有名な興隆居、果貿来来豆漿があります。 またこの辺りに家族で来たいときは泊まりたいと思いました。

There is also a washing machine and detergent as well as a wide variety of free drinks and snacks. Of all the places I stayed at in 3 weeks in Taiwan, this was my favorite.

I have visited here for several times since it was open 5 years ago. Still good tho but they should update their facilities sometime

Island House is redecorated from a 30+ years old building, there is no elevator or escalator available but we can provide luggage handling on your arrival. In response to eco-friendly, we do not provide toothpaste, toothbrush, paper slippers, razor, shower cap and comb of those one time usage items. The building is fitted with Free Wi-Fi, fridge, indoor slippers, drinking water, water boiler, shower gel and shampoo, magazines are available for reading, and we also provide friendly travel information service. In order to maintain the living quality, the entire building rooms does not provide added bed or extra person staying service, pet are not prefer with guest staying, the entire building is smoking forbidden.

An okay place to stay for a few days
Reviewed By wiredfrogThis Guest House is akin to a one star accommodation. It provides you with all essentials and won't break your bank. As it's located inside an alleyway, you will find it to be an oasis amid a hustle bustle of the famous Liuhe Night Market. WiFi is great, bed is comfy enough, room is spacious enough and you won't be shortchanged. The lady owner will check you in and then, she will leave you to your own device. There ain't any service staff and thus, the accommodation is priced accordingly. Whatever you need, it's all available all around you. 8 Door is within walking distance away to the Metro service. Of all its pros, I will need to remind you that the floor is a tad dusty and if you walk barefoot, you will notice it immediately. The lady owner has a tendency to fill in the basin with colour when not in use. She gave us a very honest description: because the Guest House is in the hub of the Night Market, where food is easily accessible, that also attracts one insect called cockroaches. There's a tendency for the cockroaches to come up from the pipe. Her advice is this: try not to eat food inside the room because cockroaches could send it. The night we were there, we could hear the occupant next door screaming and yelling trying to kill cockroaches. Whether it's successful or not, we won't have the slightest clue. The lady owner is being economical in making her Guest House looking funky by using photocopy pictures of Banksy's works placed in groovy frames. The toilet door is of the glass type. So, when you want to have privacy to do your business, you will have to do it without the presence of other people. Apart from a curtain to protect your dignity, there's nothing else for the toilet. By the way, the toilet ventilation is non-existent. If you can see beyond these things, by all means, stay here and you will be pleasantly surprised.
