Reviewed By John FThe hosts Dominique and Jerome were most welcoming and helpful. Our one week stay was very enjoyable. We found the chateau a good base for the attractions of the bay of the Somme although it is in a very rural location. (By the way do not expect a castle when you see the word "chateau", but an interesting country house). The rooms are comfortable and each one is individualistically furnished and decorated. The breakfasts are first class with bread and pastries fresh from the bakery. The shared breakfast table offers a good opportunity to meet your fellow guests. We enjoyed food of a high standard on the evenings we had prearranged to dine in. The Kota grill indoor barbecue is a must if you are staying a few days - a true meat feast. The property features a sauna and a spa pool which we did not use. There is no swimming pool. The enterprising host also runs a quad bike business on site, and he is a member of a local blues band.

Reviewed By jean pWe went there to celebrate a special event and absolutely loved it. Nice surroundings, very quiet, free WiFi, save parking and all this within minutes from the town center. We had a very large room with a king size bed. Very clean. The most enjoyable feature was the warm and friendly welcome by the hostess. Breakfast (continental) was gorgeous. If you do have the choice of hotels, this one will not let you down. We plan to go again.

Cécile et Pascal souhaitent que leur maison soit un lieu unique rempli de sympathie et de chaleur humaine. Le calme du blockhaus vous permet d'arrêter le temps pendant votre séjour et de vous ressourcer à la campagne. Quoi de mieux d'un bon petit déjeuner bien copieux servi dans la salle à manger des propriétaires avec toujours des produits frais et faits maison.

Our lifelong ambition has been to live in a peaceful, authentic, friendly environment. We began this journey to open a guesthouse after stumbling onto an abandoned 19th century brick farmhouse in 2000. The renovation of the farmhouse into a guesthouse started in 2001 and is still ongoing. We first renovated the house (2001-2002), before turning the stables into rooms and a table d’hôtes (2003-2004). Finally, we converted the beautiful 1898 barn into three gîtes (2016-2017). The organic vegetable plot and surrounding garden are at the heart of our project. We like to share our homegrown produce with our guests at the table d’hôtes. A playground and picnic tables are also available for use.

They were very accommodating with our last minute booking and even invited us to dinner just 30 minutes before the meal was to be served. While we declined the offer and dined at a quaint local restaurant in the nearest town where it was difficult to find someone who spoke English (perfect). The surrounding vegetable and flower gardens are a beautiful place to stroll and enjoy some tea or take photographs at sunrise. The breakfast consisted of homemade yogurt, fresh breads, jams, a variety of fresh cheeses and much more. Just one day here was not enough. So glad our road trip brought us here. We hope to visit again.

Reviewed By georgecassidyA lovely little seaside Hotel in an up and coming resort. The room was spacious, modern and had a nice Seaview. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful, parking is mostly good. We would certainly return soon.

The weather was amazing so we were able to use the beautiful grounds including a well kept outdoor pool. There’s a tennis court, bicycle hire, farm yard animals on site including horses and geese. Close to the beautiful Quend beach. The host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. An absolutely wonderful little place and highly recommend it if you’re looking for some peace and quiet!

Reviewed By Andrew MThe whole building was locked up when we arrived. The bar and restaurant were closed. We had to hammer on the door, and were directed to the local estate agent. We had no other contact with anyone for the rest of our stay. The room was lovely, but this booking was really for a room only, with no other facilities that a hotel should offer. That made it expensive for what was offered

Good food, horrible nights sleep
Reviewed By Laura BThe restaurant is nice. But the hotel rooms smell a little of smoke, and the walls and ceilings are too thin. Both nights we stayed we were either kept awake or woken too early by noise from the other rooms. Only stay in the hotel if you don't have a better option.
