Reviewed By JanhaviB11Located at a walking distance of 15 minutes from Gujo Hacchiman station. This hotel is a traditional Japanese Ryokan. Good eating, site seeing and shopping places located nearby. Gujo Hacchiman castle is a 25 minutes walk from this hotel and many shrines are nearby. The view from our window was wonderful.

Comfortable stay and Ski-in, Ski-out
Reviewed By Gary YWe stayed in a 2 Twin Beds room for 2 nights, halfboard included. Reception service was excellent and during check-in, we received several vouchers for discount with ski equipment rentals, external hot springs, shops etc. And we also got 2 vouchers for a day’s lift pass to Washigatake ski field so I had to give this hotel an excellent rating! Room was large with tatami area and we were given the side facing the ski slopes. Simple and older designs but well maintained. Buffet dinner and breakfast. Selections were excellent. In one of the dinners, a whole large salmon cut with smaller pieces was served for sashimi (raw fish).

Beautiful ryokan experience
Reviewed By Sarah KYoshidaya Ryokan is located about ~20 minutes walk away from Gujo-Hachiman railway station, across a bridge over the Yoshida River. It's located directly in the heart of Gujo-Hachiman on the same street as the city museum (Hakurankan) and near the base of the roads leading up to Gujo-Hachiman Castle. The river is within 5 minutes walk away, and there are lots of nearby shrines/temples. A group of four of us stayed in a spacious tatami room that had glass sliding doors looking into the garden. There was no bathroom inside the room, but there were bathrooms and separate-gender communal baths located just down the hallway. The baths were open every afternoon to evening, and we took advantage of them each night of our three nights at Yoshidaya. The ryokan staff did not speak much English (though there were a couple staff members who could speak a little English with us), but they were very kind to us. The hotel also provided slippers, yukata, and other essentials like toothbrushes/towels. Our room was cleaned every afternoon while we were out exploring the city and nearby river/trails. There is an unagi (eel) restaurant attached to the hotel, and we had dinner there our last night. The food was extremely delicious -- best unagi I have ever had! Definitely try it if you are able. The ryokan was quite empty when we stayed in June, but we heard that it (as well as other housing in the area) becomes quite packed in mid-July to early-September during the Gujo Odori festival. The ryokan cost about ~$720 before tax for the four of us to book one room for three nights. The experience was definitely worth it! I'd love to come back again.

Reviewed By yumiko1111999今回で４回目の利用でした。館内はコロナでお休みされていた間に至る所リニューアルされていました。 今回も天然アユを楽しみにチェックインをしていたらちょうど調理場から出てきた若旦那が釣りたての天然アユを見せてくれて、今晩こちらをお出ししますとのこと。 ワクワクしながら夕食の時間を迎えました。 やっぱりここで食べる郡上の天然アユは美味しいです。 だいぶ前に八幡町内のホテルで食べた鮎とは明らかに違います。 ここは温かいものは温かいうちに、冷たいものは冷たいうちにスムーズに配膳してくれます。これって基本なんだけどわりと意識されていないお宿さん多いんですよね。 焼き魚が最初からテーブルに置いてあったりとかね。 ここは何回来てもそんなことないです。 鮎の刺身も臭みも無く川魚の苦手な人でも食べることができると思います。 鮎雑炊も身が沢山入っててとても美味しいです。私の中ではここのが一番かな。 メニュー表もありますが料理で分からないことがあれば聞いてくださいとのこと。 最後のデザートまで手を抜かない心意気が好きです。 岩風呂は小さめですが山からの岩肌をそのまま岩風呂に引き込んだ珍しいものです。今回もゆっくり入らせてもらいました。 お部屋には新しいお風呂とトイレが付いていますので気持ちよく滞在することができます。お部屋からは高い位置から龍神の池を見ることができます。 ここの龍神さんは願い事を叶えてくれると言われていてパワースポットになっています。今回も願い事をしてきました。 あとお布団は高反発マットレスと体に優しい新しい太めの抗菌敷布団と羽毛布団でゆっくり眠れます。 宿の人に言えば柔らかめの敷布団に変えることも可能だそうです。 お布団は到着時に用意されていますので夕食時まで小さな子供を寝かせたり私も休むことができ有難いです。今はコロナ感染の心配もありますのでこのほうがいいと思います。 ドライヤーは洗面所の隣に棚があるのでそこに置けばいいかと。 お部屋には座椅子と小さめのテーブルセットがあり池側にはソファーもあります。 トイレットペーパーの事を書かれている方がいましたが２枚重ねの柔らかいものです。気持ちよく使えますよ。 コロナ対策はしっかりされてました。 また来年行く予定にしています。

The roads leading to the hotel were not cleared of the snow, which made the driving very difficult and dangerous. Being a hotel in the ski resort, it is the hotel's responsibility to ensure it is easily accessible. But this was not the case. The hotel charged a per person rate and cramped 6 of us into one small room, when we had booked 2 rooms. The reception staff at this hotel give the entire japanese community a bad name. They were not at helpful. When we pointed out that we had booked 2 rooms, they reluctantly gave us a western room. But the western rooms done not have any shower or bath rooms. Which means one will need to go the ground floor at restricted hours and use common bathrooms. The rooms were small and cold. At -3 degrees, the rooms were not heated. We were charged around JYEN31,000.00 for 2 adults and 1 child, which included breakfast and dinner. Both the buffet breakfast and dinner was horrible. Again first visitors who visit japan, will be put off with Japanese food, if they at this hotel for their first visit. Because of the blizard the ski resort closed. We wanted to leave 1 day earlier. The rude and incompetent reception staff wanted to charge us cancellation charges. This hotel does not deserve any rating and gives all hotels in Japan a bad reputation.

Reviewed By aki0728GW後半の旅行に検討した際、GW価格ではなくお手頃価格だったので決めました。 郡上八幡から２０分ぐらいかかります。なお、宿の近くにはコンビニ等はありません。 宿のお風呂（温泉）はちょっと狭く、入浴時間も６時～２３時までとなっています。 カミソリも部屋にはありませんが、お風呂近くの階段に置かれています。 あと星空がすごく綺麗です。

Reviewed By miking00毎年お世話になってます。白鳥踊りへは歩いて、郡上踊りからは車で20分くらいかな。囲炉裏の夕食、毎回食べきれないくらいの料理が楽しみです。若干の掃除の粗はありますが、まぁ差し引いても毎回満足してます。

Good location, nice experience

Price was reasonable (please note that around July to early-September is their high-season due to the Gujo Odori (dance) so prices will be higher). Owner was pleasant. We stayed in the Japanese-style room (wa-shitsu). Room was clean & a good size for my family. Public bath was relaxing. We slept well. Breakfast was delicious, my kids enjoyed it. Location is convenient since it is about a minute away from Jokamachi Plaza. We took the train (12 daily from Mino-Ota Station) into Gujo and later took the Mame red-bus (100 yen; about 5 min) to Jokamachi (otherwise 20 min walk). Bus driver was super friendly. Overall a good experience.
