10 Top-Rated Bed and Breakfast Inns in Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Dalmatia

May 5, 2023 Florencio Paulino

Dubrovnik has recovered from the war damage it suffered during the 1990s, and visitors have returned to this tranquil city. Nestled between the Adriatic and the Dinaric Alps, it’s an accessible and affordable city break for many European travelers. The pedestrian-only Old Town is especially charming.

NIce hotel with adequate facilities

We stayed in a Family Suite with a balcony. The rooms offers plenty of space with inter-connecting rooms, a lounge and 3 bathrooms. You are also able to use all the facilities across the 5 hotels in resort which meant access to 6 pools, a spa and a number of restaurants and bars. The resort is also the start of the baordwalk into town which is a pleasant 15 min walk along the coast which passes a few bars and restaurants. Breakfast was included which was ok, not the best and often service can be slow. Old town is a 10 min drive away where you can an Uber which is usually cheaper than calling a taxi from the hotel and there seemed to be plenty available. Overall a good hotel in a quiet location close to all the amenities you would need on a holiday.

Brilliant stay

Rooms are perfect for a city break- spacious, comfortable and quiet for the centre of old town. Breakfast was really good and you can order anything you want, we had the homemade bread every morning which was lovely. The staff are amazing and are so helpful. We had dinner at Forty Four the restaurant downstairs which was the best meal we had while in Dubrovnik. No faults that I can think of with the hotel or restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.

I was stranded in Old Town Dubrovnik when I found Rooms Klarisa Palace. What a stroke of good luck! The manager, Tom, was kind and gracious in helping me move out of the horrible room I had booked and into his warm and inviting accommodation. He was so helpful and informative in providing suggestions and things to do, and made me feel so safe and secure in staying there. Housekeeping is superb as the entire place is spotless! If you’re looking for more of a great experience than just a great place to stay, this is where you should book!

Great potential, but a few shortcomings limit it

Reviewed By Sandya-and-Erik

As a budget option fine, but pricey for what you get. Great friendly host (Nico) and support, but badly organised; while they had confirmed my arrival early, upon finally having found the place (500 m from ferry) no one was there and I had to search around the property to find a staff member. Staff very flexible, e.g. as an extra service they did my laundry well. Pool small but nice. B'fast nice on the terrace, but very underwhelming; maybe worth 1-2 stars (no fruit at all, no fresh juice, no yoghurts) while the property charges for 3 stars. Nice fridge and AC in the room; maintenance a bit dated. Lopud is brilliant even in busy peak season; beaches on 2 sides of the island, closest one in the main port 200 m walk. Nice walks through the forest and hills, well signposted.

Clean room near to supermarkets and restaurants

Reviewed By pohty

Stayed in a double room here during my visit to Dubrovnik, and it was really clean! There was even a welcome drink and biscuits offered when I arrived. The hosts were also really nice. I had a good chat with Katarina's son and also met his daughter whom Katarina helps to take care of. The family's dog Bianca was really friendly too, and made me miss my own jack russell back home. The apartment is not that near to the old city, but still of walking distance (around half an hour). Otherwise, the bus stops for taking a bus to the old city are not far from the apartment. There are two bus stops - one is up from the apartment where you can take bus no. 8, but the waiting time can be long; the other one is down from the apartment and there are more than 3 buses to take to the old city. Do check with the host on the options! Getting to the bus station is also not difficult, with a direct bus (no. 3) from the bus-stop up from the apartment. If you don't mind a walk, it is around 20 minutes by foot. There are also various bakeries, restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment. Travellers with more luggage may like to take note that there is quite a bit of stairs leading to the apartment though. Also, the thicker blankets in the cupboard didn't seem to be freshly cleaned, and I wasn't comfortable using them when it got cold in the night. But checks could be perhaps done with the host if you need warmer sheets.

Great location with friendly staff.

Reviewed By Tewbert

We spent 3 nights here. We arrived after dark but the walking directions on our phone got us there. It is located inside the old town and no cars are allowed. The driver dropped us off at the gate and we arrived about 10 minutes later. The hotel is hard to spot since it is located above a restaurant on a narrow alley. Regardless, we asked a few waiters and it all worked out. Our room was on the top floor meaning 2 heavy bags had to be carried up. The room was very nice and clean. There was no street noise from the restaurant at all. Church bells were the only thing that woke us a few mornings. The restaurant downstairs was excellent! We had one breakfast and two dinners there. Reservations are a great idea if not required. The staff was very friendly and helped make our stay even better. The location was an easy walk to all old town Dubrovnik had to offer. We would definitely stay again!

We were lucky enough to have the room with a private balcony and it was great eating breakfast bought from the local bakery with our hostess's home made fig jam while enjoying the sea view. Room was a good size, plenty of space for our clothes and very clean, fresh towels every day. Nice quiet air con to switch on meant we got a good nights sleep. There are small supermarkets both on the main road and just at the top of the stairs. The beach was five minutes away (maybe 10 minutes coming back up all the steps!) - at the bottom of the stairs take the road to the right of Hotel Bellevue, past the car and scooter hire and turn left just before the Rixos hotel. Easy walk to the old town but the buses were quite frequent (no. 4 or 2a). Would recommend the Taj Mahal restaurant just up the road. We had a lovely stay. Thank you for the liqueurs and cake!

Great Location

Reviewed By jbg74

The hotel was in a great location inside the old town. The Pila (main) gate is the closest one with the least amount of steps. The room was comfortable. There is no elevator and there are six floors with lots of steps. If you have trouble with steps get a room on a lower floor. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good too.
