The Inn has a beautiful, peaceful Tropical Garden & in-ground swimming pool. Karl and Alison are the very special owners and you will feel like like old friends when you are there. Karl makes an awesome breakfast every morning that surely includes all food groups and will definitely keep you full until dinner. The rooms are very clean and include nice amenities. We will definitely return again soon and are already looking forward to it!

Wonderful innkeeper and staff provide impeccable personalized concierge service, and homemade gourmet breakfast and baked goods.

Reviewed By lrstampSecond visit to this inn. Stayed in The Sunset Room this time. It was a little warm as it gets the afternoon sun and one thermostat controls the whole main bldg. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable. The room was well decorated and very clean. Full occupancy but all guests were respectful and quiet. Good restaurants within 5 min of the inn. Breakfasts were different each morning and prepared by Bonnie. They were very tasty. Freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Our family had a reunion here this time and occupied several of the rooms. Great to sit by the pool and enjoy the beach. Even saw a space launch one night. Would highly recommend Windmere and will definitely stay here again.

Facilities just right - on beach and walking distance from Squid lips, a waterfront restaurant that the kids just love. BBQ pit on site and always immaculately kept. In short highly recommended for families that like self catering and are happy to enjoy the simple life

Reviewed By angelag643This b&b is not for everyone, but I think if you give it a chance, it will win over the majority of guests. The facility is full of history - the building itself, as well as the antiques that fill it. If you prefer a minimalist environment then this b&b will not be in your comfort zone. If you enjoy historical spaces and unique decor then you will find this b&b a treat. We stayed in the Sapphire Suite. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The suite was quite spacious so we had plenty of room to spread out our luggage and ourselves. I believe all the rooms are similar in providing more than adequate space. Due to the age of the building there is not central air and heat, but the window units kept the suite quite comfortable even when outdoor temps were in the 90s. The owners were attending a family function out of town, but the two women who were hosting were very friendly. We received small plates of crudité and drinks as well as homemade cookies at 5pm each day. Our two mornings of breakfast were very good. There is always coffee, tea, yogurt, toast, fresh fruit, cereal, milk and orange juice. The specials we enjoyed over the two days were peach cobbler, scrambled eggs, sausage, quiche, and a berry pancake type casserole. Again, while our initial impression was one of hesitancy due to the eclectic nature of the furnishings, we were completely won over by the staff, the food and the comfortable spaces. This facility has many positive reviews and we can affirm that they are earned.

This common of the inn are appointed with antiques and the self-serve kitchen is stocked with a large assortment of breakfast items and fresh fruits.

Reviewed By 145scottkHoliday weekend and we usually stay on the beach when in this area. Found this new jewel of a hotel and decided to give it a try. Hotel is new, super clean and located in a great location. You can access all highways and the beach within a short distance. Check in with Alison was great and fast. Staff was pleasant and all were extremely friendly. They all seemed like a team getting along with the guests and each other. Room facing the water is the way to go at this Hotel, great views. Lots of activates for kids and the pool was very nice. Chairs along the intercoastal are relaxing and a nice touch. Must say the Space Bar was terrific. Drinks were great and the food was good. Our Bartender, Kristin was on point and very attentive. Cheers to her. Will definitely stay here again.

Reviewed By Courtney VThis place is so cute! It's a bit older and the rooms are in need of a little upgrading, like the couch had a big rip in it and maybe a little paint. Overall it's quite nice. Very quiet and peaceful. The bed is very comfy, small shower. Kitchen area is great, there's a stovetop, mini fridge and freezer, coffee maker and microwave. All utensils are there to use, just make sure you wash them before you leave! There are plenty of sitting room outside. A grill and kayaks to use free of charge. There's a cat and a couple parrots on grounds as well. I didn't hear a peep out of the parrots though but I got a glimpse of them. Dolphin inn is sitting on the banana river and the beach is literally right across the street. The street is a bit busy though even in the early morning as I went to watch the sun rise. Great location. Quite a few food locations in walking distance, there is a Taco place right across the street. I am very happy with dolphin inn. There are only 11 units I believe, so it's a pretty small place. No need to worry about crowded areas. The night we stayed there was only 1 other couple. The attendant was so nice. He showed us around and told us a lot about the area and only asked for us not to smoke inside the unit and if we went to the beach to wash our feet off before going in. Common courtesy of course. No complaints whatsoever ever. It may be a little old but the inn definitely has charm to it. Thanks for the great night !! We will definitely be back ? -Courtney V

Reviewed By Robbiesue09The bed was comfortable, however, when we arrived the televisions and phone were not hooked up and we had to have the front desk have maintenance come and fix them. We stayed on the first floor and at 4:00 am we could hear someone walking across the floor resulting in one of us having to go upstairs to ask them nicely to stop running around and making all the loud noise. Bathroom was very small, yet had a great shower. The floor needed some work, because there were broken pieces on it and you had to be careful walking. We had a coffee maker and cups in the room, but no coffee. I would rate this a 3 out of 5.

Close to shops, the river, impeccably clean, great shower and linens. Even has a nice outdoor common kitchen to do some cooking. Wonderfully nice owners, the kind it feels good supporting. If only every motel was like this. A real gem!
