Great staff great beer - otherwise awful

Reviewed By Jim C

Super friendly staff and great selection of beers and it ends there. Room 7 tiny, noisy and had a mild sewage smell. Music from downstairs loud even in the back room. No band, just loud awful music. Not my choice of stay. Perhaps other rooms might be better.

Great Pub Atmosphere

Reviewed By Rob M

I meet a friend regularly here in the front bar for lunch. We love the atmosphere which still manages to keep the old style feel whilst it is updated. The food is typical pub fare but always excellent quality with schnitzels and burgers being our favs and not over priced like some other CBD establishments. The owner, Matt, always has a chat and is quick to suggest a good red from his cellar with rest of the staff being very attentive and very friendly.

Too close to a very busy road carrying large trucks with the sound booming through the room. However, very nice staff.

It’s right on the A1. Perhaps rooms are the back might be ok. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. The price reflects the issue so not too disappointed. The room was simple and did not have a seperate basin in the room. It’s ok for a one night stop over.

Heritage hotel nicely refurbished. Checkin experience could have been smoother with processes, but eventually on track. Staff good everywhere we went. Comfy King Coil bed. Very clean throughout. New bathroom. New TV with Netflix. Studio-sized living space, and spacious in bathroom. Stairs up to rooms - a bit challenging with luggage. Signage in welcome lounge referring to a fridge needs check for customer impression. Wifi helped plan our day. Nice touches with bathroom products and soft white towels. Decent instant coffee and tea. Secure room key entry. Key coded from street level. Overall, very good and recommended. Close to 5 stars. Great location near coast and shopping.

A beautiful and comfortable place to stay

Reviewed By PrudenceAnn

We stayed in the Musica Viva apartment and it is spacious, charming and situated close to amenities. It is a comfortable walk to the city, including the zoo, the museum and the art gallery, but if we didn't feel like walking the free bus stop is just down the road. It's a brilliant place to stay.

What a unique charming surprise

Reviewed By jonl9

We stayed at the Fire Station for one night. We had one of the Great State Vouchers so decided to treat ourselves. Normally we would chose one of the CBD hotels but this came up in our search. The rooms are located in the old North Adelaide Fire Station. There are 2 rooms upstairs (I think) and a ground floor room which we booked. The room is on the ground floor and has a fire engine ? inside. (Apparently it still works!) As per the photos you have the engine, a double bed and lounge plus a kitchenette plus a big bathroom with a spa bath. The room was warm cosy and spotless. Our only downside was being able to hear the street. We had some very noisy people returning from a pub/bar at 2am. The location is perfect short walk in to North Adelaide. Decor unique. Free bottle of Fire Station Bubbles. What more do you want.

An independent site asked me to review parador on 12 April. I said that after telling 'John' that we would come into his restaurant at 6.30pm on the 11th, we walked in only to be told that no meals would be served. This tells me he had clearly forgotten to tell me that it was not worth it to open the kitchen for 2 visitors (the motel car park was busy). He forgot that I had booked a table for 2 and failed to advise me earlier. He has then read the independent review. Today John has then rang me to tell me I was being nasty.

Beware-Poor service, unrealistic policies

Reviewed By Gregory D

We had booked an apartment at this facility. Two days before flying to Adelaide my wife and I did RATS and PCR tests and were negative. The night before flying my wife had a sniffly nose so did two RATS. Both were positive. We contacted the accommodation and airline immediately. We have now been informed that, despite being in the age of Covid when cases happen without warning, we are going to be charged for 3 days accommodation because it was past the 72 hour cancellation. I spoke to the accommodation and told them we would stay there whenever the situation improved. There was no change in their policies. The airline has given us a credit due to circumstances beyond our control. In the Covid era, accommodations should do the same. Avoid booking this place with its unrealistic cancellation policies!!!

Econo Lodge North Adelaide

Terrible and let down by everyone I tried to contact

Reviewed By Lefty M

I didn’t enjoy my stay. Noise was an issue. I was placed in an adjoined room with the access door between both the rooms locked, but I could hear every conversation from the room next door. In addition, every time a room close to me turned their water on, I could hear the pipes and the hot water system in the walls. I booked a Standard Suite that said on the booking platform that it had a kettle, toaster, microwave plus a kitchenette with photos showing a rangehood/stove top. However, this is not what I got. There was only a kitchen sink and a kettle. I phoned reception and they said the Standard Suite does not come with a kitchenette or microwave (which contradicted the booking platform reservation I had made). I had purchased a lot of food to cook which is now wasted as I couldn’t take it home, I have also spent extra money living on takeaway food which I wanted to avoid because of COVID. Econo Lodge blamed the booking platform and after contacting the booking platform they said they would contact the property but I still didn’t hear any reply and I have now completed my stay??? No surprises that neither of them seemed interested in the issue, but I’m the one out of pocket and increased my risk of COVID having to go out to get takeaway throughout my stay. I won’t be returning to Econo Lodge Meridien and I will seriously rethink my use of the booking platform
