Peaceful, pretty, relaxing. Every staff member was better than the next. So welcoming and helpful. A little dated, but brings back many good memories. The grounds are kept beautiful, rooms are all interesting. Pool area was fun and Dina did a great job entertaining everyone. Music, island like and just a wonderful spot.

3 day romantic getaway to the Poconos May 29-June 1

Reviewed By twelsh1388

Pros: 1) Staff was very accommodating and pleasant, service was great. However, they failed to make up our room on day 2 even though we had the "card" in the door. 2) game room was good, loved the short lane bowling. 3) Room was unique.. we had the "Garden of Eden" room with heart shaped jacuzzi, with personal sauna and dip pool. Rooms have no windows which is a plus for privacy. Cons: 1) Not very good value unless going at a peak time where there is more participation in activities and overall # of clients, 2) nightly entertainment was bad due to lack of people, felt bad for the singers/guitarist playing "requests" for 6 people in the bar, 3) the place is dated.. they told me that was on purpose (that 70's feel), but still looked very aged. You can be retro without looking dated and old., 4) alcoholic drinks are EXPENSIVE, I understand not being included in the "all inclusive" rate (which is just breakfast and dinner), but at least include soda/pop. Overall we made it what we could, and did some golf (Country Club of Poconos) and hiked Bushkill Falls, as well as visited local winery which were the highlights of the trip. Would I go back.. maybe... but would try one of the other resorts in the group.

Skytop is a great place for a special occasion celebration. Its quiet enough in early June(minimal kids) Ample activites( fee for most) and the resaurants have great service and food. Be wary of The Library lounge and expensive cocktails. Rabbithole rye old fashion was 29$ yikes! Not justified. All in all a good experience in lodge accommodations and Windsor dining. Beautiful getaway stay

Reviewed By PZeigler

Distinguished yet not ostentatious historical hotel. Breakfast is delicious home made fluffy seasoned scrambled eggs, tasty home fries bacon cooked to perfection, (hard to come by). croissants and pastries, yogurt with granola, fresh juice, coffee and assorted teas in a beautiful setting with elegant music. Dinner at Bar Louis (downstairs in hotel) was a lovely time for a nice date night. Lovely staff polite, pleasant and sincere. Room, whilst a period hotel was classic, casual and comfy beautiful window with an amazing sunrise view to wake up to. Bathroom again period style, most amazing bath in my life, clawfoot tub . Shower takes getting used to but bath......( hand held shower perhaps would be a nice touch ) Feeling of a country retreat while still in an urban yet quaint walkable town. Nice parking area, felt safe and secure. Forewarn no microwave or fridge ( historical ) If anything, would recommend an ice machine. Would all in all say, maybe my new favorite retreat , very happy to have had the experience. Looking forward to many seasonal getaways st this lovey hotel.

Charming Historic Inn by the River

Reviewed By Mary R

We chose the Shawnee Inn to enjoy a relaxing mountain escape for a getaway weekend. The inn is lovely both inside and out, a large historic building carefully preserved and situated on acres of green grounds and forests next to the refreshing Delaware River. Yes, the most economical rooms are a bit small and have a step-up bathroom, but the view was pretty and we thought the value was very fair. Because the site is a bit isolated, we selected the meal package, which included a three course dinner and a full hot buffet breakfast. The menu features a great variety of choices and the entrees are large. My rainbow cake was scrumptious! We dined in the comfortable River Room, and then strolled down to the onsite brewery to listen a bit to a live band playing outside. Such fun! Although we did not kayak or tube on the river (which was quite popular!), we did try out the large indoor pool. Golfing is one of the key resort activities. There is also a large library inside for rainy days. All staff were extremely pleasant and gracious. The only negatives we encountered were other guests--a man smoking on the porch although no smoking signs are prominently displayed everywhere; a family who brought alcoholic drinks including glass beer bottles into the pool area, which was not permitted, and parents who allowed little ones to use the hot tub as a kiddie pool. I suppose it is difficult to monitor everyone and enforce the rules, but it is disappointing to see this negative adult behavior. Nevertheless, our stay was wonderful, and we would happily return to this charming property!

Reviewed By MSAYYY

Went up to the poconos I understand that their is remodeling going on and thats ok not an issue but then they should also lower their prices while remodeling is going on and in all their honestly wasn’t much to do. Also I was highly disappointed with the food really expensive and not good at all lacking in flavor and variety for the amount of money I spend their I should have been licking my fingers that was not the case.

Dated And Overpriced

Reviewed By Netgain2

The people at the front desk were miserable and nasty. The room we stayed in was extremely dated! The bathroom floor was cracked. The bathtub dripped. The bathroom sink was tiny. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The window and windowsills were dirty. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and I’d never go back again! Oh! I forgot to mention that it was extremely overpriced!! I had stayed at the Penn Stroud Hotel and the rooms there were 100% better and half the price.
