Pleasant stay on a cold weekend

Reviewed By RoadTripToSFO

I stayed in the Keeper's Cottage for two nights and enjoyed my stay. The space is colorful, clean, and the heater was able to keep up with the wintry weather! There were a couple of matters of attention to detail that bothered me, such as several burned-out light bulbs across the cottage. I also thought one of the proprietors seemed rather cold when I had a question and a miscommunication that resulted in an odd situation for me (though the other seemed much more outgoing). However, by and large this was a good base of operations for my weekend of experiences in Lubec.

The Perkins House

Enchanting and relaxing

Reviewed By Roving10479039135

I visited yesterday with my girlfriend and spent a night in the Garden Room. The entire building is covered with gorgeous Christmas decorations and various antiques (even an Edison phonograph!) Our hosts were friendly and gracious, (thank you Gretchen and Keith!), the stay was quiet, and the rooms were as impeccable as they were quaint. I've never seen a house so lovingly cared for, and it was apparent in every room. Their decorations do a brilliant job of creating a vintage look matching the feel of the house without making the place feel like a museum, and the rooms seem fully modernised with heat and electrical outlets, despite their antique furnishings. It was a perfect stay in a spacious house with kind people, and if my girlfriend and I are ever spending time in the Cornish area again, we will certainly be back! Five stars all around.

The hostel was ver welcoming after many days on the trail. When checking in, a beer was offered as part of the process. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. “Poet” repaired my backpack and replaced the tips of my trekking poles. Breakfast was outstanding and the interaction between the staff and guests was comforting. I highly recommend Shaw’s is hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Corea Harbor's Black Duck Inn

A casually elegant bed & breakfast nestled in a classic, Downeast Maine lobster fishing village less than five (5) miles from Acadia National Park!

We Love this area, love this inn!

Reviewed By Kathy B

Black Duck is in Corea Harbor, a small fishing village packed with an interesting history! The Black Duck is a wonderful, charming and comfortable place to stay! Although not located on the water, there is a water view. We were able to look out each morning as the lobster boats prepared to do their daily trips! My husband and I stayed in the Skipper's Suite for 4 nights. The room was very comfortable with two windows facing the water providing a nice breeze each night. It also has a window on the side of the room and one in the bathroom. The suite has a small sitting room, full large bath and a nice sized bedroom with a queen bed, closet, two night stands and a chest of drawers. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The bath has a hair dryer and samples of soap, lotion and shampoo from a local business, Prospect Harbor Soap Co. (very much appreciated as I visited them once again and made a purchase!). We were greeted by Will and Rae, owners of the Black Duck. They are both very personable and wonderful hosts, very friendly and great to talk with. The inn is an historic building with many rooms. Coffee and tea is served an hour before breakfast in the great room which is spacious and beautiful. It has many windows providing early morning sunlight. A very enjoyable room. There also is a living room with plenty of books and magazines for use by the guests of the inn. Will and Rae have a small refrigerator in a hallway, for guests to use which was a great idea! Breakfast was multi-course which began with yogurt parfait, very delicious, and a second, main course, which changed daily. We had traditional crepes, quiche and strawberry loaf! All were wonderful, tasty and filling! Will was great at pointing out local places to visit, area history and light hiking paths, all of which we really enjoyed! Will and Rae are very creative and are hosting various events in their great room that I hope we are able to attend in the future! I know we will return again and again!!

I stayed for the first time from 6/5 2021- 6/9/2021, had a great stay.. The room we had was clean and sunny, comfortable beds and luxury snow white linens.. gave such and airy feel. The bathrooms were oversized ..very clean stocked with thick towels for us.They are still not comfortable with maid service in rooms due to covid, so you simply call the desk with any requests for items you need in the room, such as fresh towels or any toiletries and they deliver to your door. Vicki was so sweet, helpful and just a pleasure to meet, all of the staff was friendly and could not have been more accomodating to our needs. I will definately return!

Lakewood Camps

Lakewood Camps is a traditional Sport Camp, continually operating since 1853, adjacent to the Rapid River. We provide a private cabin, and three home cooked meals in our lakeside dining room. We offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, and the best fly-fishing for native Brook Trout and Landlock Salmon in the lower 48 states. Arrive by boat shuttle on our private dock on Lower Richardson Lake, and experience a trip back in time.

Beautiful experience and most relaxing time of my life!

This was my first time ever fly fishing and staying at Lakewood Camps, what a beautiful experience. I had the best guide ever Bob DuPort, he taught me so much and has tremendous patience since I had never fly fished before my trip to Lakewood. When you imagine what a fly fishing camp would be, Lakewood is it. The cabins are very charming, roomy and comfortable with your very own front porch with the beautiful view of the lake. You will experience the most amazing sunrises here. I can’t say enough about the food, everything made from scratch and so delicious, they have their very own baker on staff that makes the most wonderful desserts. Forget your diet while your up there! Loved this place can’t wait to go back!
