Great place

Update: The room they upgraded us to is so nice. I am very thankful to the staff for assisting me here. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much to everyone. I was thinking of not including this below in this latest update but you know sometimes it is more important to know that businesses care about you rather than them getting it right 100% of the time. Update: I wrote this below and then encountered one more issue with my room this morning that I'll keep to myself so then decided to speak to the front desk. The staff is so friendly. They took the feedback really well and then later in the day called me to offer an upgrade. I will see how this new room is later after work but I really appreciate this customer service and the desire to give the customer the experience they should have initially had in this hospitality driven environment. Once I see the room I'll update one more time. Original: So our room is clean which is great and most of what I care about but I am in a room right now on the second floor facing the entrance and have a few qualms. The pillows are so flat! I had such a hard time sleeping last night. The AC vent was blowing directly on the bed also making it freezing but turning it off would have meant there was zero airflow. The window opens but there aren't screens. Also this is across the street from a train so it would be super loud at night. My husband and I just stood on the chair and forced the painted vent cover louvers away from the bed, something we shouldn't have to do. The vent now looks moldy. At least we won't be freezing. See picture. The neighbors above walked around all night too. Not sure if this room is below a staff area but the walking went on till the wee hrs last night. The bar was closed last night at 5pm. I wanted to sit by the water with a glass of wine. Tonight it's open but it was packed with what seemed like an event. Also we chose a suite. This is not a suite. We have a standard room. I expect more for this price. I was looking forward to staying at this waterside place but now wish I wasnt.

Beautiful stay but awkward bathrooms

Reviewed By C8298NOmonicap

Beautiful place to stay. Excellent staff. My only complaint is that the bathroom setup is awkward in rooms with two queens if you are sharing with 3 friends. While the shower is sort of in a separate room, you can be seen by others who may be doing hair and makeup where the sink is. There is also a full view into the shower when the room door is opened, so potentially strangers in the hallway can see you shower. But what I disliked the most is that the the toilet was extremely low to the ground, with no bar to help get up or down, which is not great for tall people, seniors and those of us with bad knees.

Nice location, plenty of hotel parking, comfortable and spacious room

Reviewed By AmyTravels1975

I did not have a waterfront view, so I probably missed out on some of the charm, but the moment you step outside, you hear the waves, you see the water and ferries… it’s beautiful! There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance and plenty of hotel parking (covered and not). The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I slept every well! There were some toiletries, but no lotion. Shower pressure was great and water was hot. Housecleaning only came at 3:30 p.m. on my second day, while I was finishing up some office work. The complimentary breakfast was very basic, but enough. The view from the dining room is wonderful! I this was my second stay, and I will definitely return if in town on business.

It is close to stores restaurants. We were there in March and there had been a lot of rain, so trail to beach was flooded but access is not far where you can drive and park. I really like the Grey Gull. Gas fireplace, and has pretty much all you need to cook or heat up. We requested a dog room, and it was very clean, we will go back.

This was our 2nd time to stay at Homewood Suites on Western. The hotel is very clean and the suites are spacious. The location is convenient to many sights. Breakfast is served every morning and has a tasty variety of hot and cold foods. We especially enjoyed the spinach fritata. Every Wednesday evening they serve comlimentary small plates of food, beer and wine. The only complaint we had was one elevator throughout our stay would not work.

Night and Day

Reviewed By cgbonney

We enjoyed the Silver Cloud Hotel at Point Rustin and thought it first class (except the parking fee). Based on that experience, let's try another one. Wrong! While traveling, it is required to have a comfortable, quiet place to relax and rejuvenate, and this hotel was neither. Not only was it a night and day experience compared with Point Rustin, it was night and day compared with all but a hand full of hundreds of hotels we've used over the years, but we were literally up night and day with the roadway and train traffic noise, about 1 football field from the hotel. We were to bed by 11:00 am and awake at 4:30 am for the day due to noise. And we had a LONG flight to catch to the East Coast at SeaTac. Unpleasant and not repeatable. We also agree with Erin (see previous review) about deceptive "water-view" guest rooms.
