Excellent hospitality

Reviewed By wamorock

The hospitality in this hotel is top notch. Due to a delayed departure we missed our connection. After getting rerouted we arrived around 1:30am without our luggage. We had not eaten anything since early afternoon. We were starving. The check in took 1 minute. We were then offered a container of juice, some bananas and a bowl of nuts to hold us over until breakfast. We were extremely thankful. The room was modern with a comfortable king size bed. We also had an amazing ocean view which we took advantage of by sitting in the balcony in the evenings. Any requests made to the front desk were immediately taken care of. All staff were friendly and polite and willing to help any way possible. We spent our time by the small pool. Chairs were always available and there was always a nice breeze since it was facing the ocean. The lounge chairs were to close to one another at the large pool. Getting in and out of them sometimes became a task. We had a great couples massage at a reasonable price. There are many restaurants and bars all walking distance from the hotel. The beach is short 2-3 minute walk.Upon check out at 6:00am we were given some croissants since breakfast was not yet being served. We had a wonderful time here. I would definitely recommend Barcelo Teguise Beach.

Love this place!! My second stay in Iberostar Lanzarote and absolutely love it! We stayed for 2 weeks in the Star Prestige area and we can totally recommend it! Breakfast and diner is in the prestige restaurant, lunch is in the main restaurant which is very crowded and busy with kids. Food has a great quality. During nighttime we had our drinks at the Star Prestige Poolbar with live music. A big thank you to Charaf, Jan and the others! They work very hard! Hopefully we will return in 2023.

Very spacious rooms and outdoor areas with plenty space for privacy and quiet.amazing breakfast selection and ultra efficient and polite staff. Reception staff great and extremely friendly and helpful . Dining room never too crowded or queues. Highlight was mihaela one of the bar staff in the bigger pools bar...an absolute character always smiling and very endearing who couldn't do enough for us ..sad to say she wasn't there on our last couple of days but an absolute gem. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel which also is in a perfect position to visit the restaurants/supermarket and local market. Will look.forward to visiting again.

Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa

Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa is located in the south of Gran Canaria, right on the seafront in the exclusive Meloneras area. This spectacular resort is nestled within the Maspalomas Sand Dunes Special Nature Reserve, a spectacular setting that represents Gran Canaria as a tourist destination on an international level. The unmistakable beauty of the natural environment surrounding the hotel is combined with the proximity of El Faro Boulevard, an avant-garde shopping and dining district that offers everything our guests need to enjoy an unforgettable vacation filled with relaxation, recreation and fun. The iconic architecture of Lopesan Costa Meloneras is inspired by the aesthetics of two emblematic colonial-style buildings: the Santa Catalina Hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Hotel Nacional in Havana, Cuba. When guests arrive, they are met by an awe-inspiring building that pierces the sky with the iconic profile of this colonial palace that spans more than 105,000 m2. The hotel opened in 2000 and after almost two decades as a leader in the archipelago’s tourism industry, it was forced to close its doors on 24 March 2020 because of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Since then, it has focused efforts on revamping its image, modernising its infrastructure and adding new services to its already diverse offer. All the design elements of this magnificent resort are centred around outdoor activities and enjoying the amazing weather. Guests can get away and let their imagination run wild in a lush, 76,000 m² tropical garden, home to over 800 palm trees representing 100 different species and subspecies. The vegetation flows at the pace set by the water and the harmony provided by its 4 freshwater pools (2 of which are heated in winter), 2 whirlpools, 1 children's pool, heated in winter, and its artificial beach. In total, the hotel offers 12,000 cubic meters of pools equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas that blend in with the surroundings. If there is one thing that sets Lopesan Costa Meloneras apart from the rest, it is its infinity pool: 102 meters long and 5,500 m³, it seems to merge with the sea, creating an optical illusion that becomes part of the photos and unforgettable memories of guests who have stayed at the hotel since it first opened. The structure and finishes of the infinity pool have been completely renovated, keeping the essence of this iconic Gran Canaria landmark intact. The Río Pool (2,170 m3) has also been given a makeover, adding new shades of green and brown to create a special symbiosis with the surrounding nature. The course of this unique river has created a peaceful, island-shaped area which will delight our most exclusive guests. Like its aquatic sisters, the Unique Pool (650 m3) and the 'Árbol de la vida' Pool (348 m3) have been transformed, offering a new and updated image, adapting to the aesthetics of the rest of the pools in the complex. The renovations have also involved the expansion and creation of new areas, such as the back terrace of the Solarium Bar, now with more space for enhanced comfort and convenience. Our guests can enjoy the best sunset in Meloneras from this magnificent location. The areas with the highest guest traffic have been modernised, upgrading the pavement and adding new decorations in the lobby, the Tertulia terrace and the Dragones Fountain. La Plaza is another of the hotel's iconic areas that has undergone significant changes, adapting to the demands of our guests and enhancing accessibility. All of the paving has been updated, the irrigation networks have been upgraded and new attractions have been added to all of the resort's gardens, ensuring that repeat guests feel that they are visiting a new, modern and comfortable space that preserves the same essence of the original Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa.

Consider this spa with caution or at least get a good recommendation for therapist.

This is just a review of the Om spa at Costa Meloneras which I used while staying at a neighbouring related property. Overall the spa has a nice vibe and was accommodating. However, both of my masseuses left much to be desired. An aromatherapy massage was adequate but technique was poor. Indian head and neck massage was poorly set up - I had to squeeze into room thru door that could only crack open and the therapist was clearly having a bad day. Not friendly or supportive in any way.

Great stay

Reviewed By Rmcm12

Just returned from holiday here and our stay was overall very good the hotel is very very clean. The rooms are very spacious especially for a family the walk in shower is a massive bonus however the beds are uncomfortable and you have to sleep with a very thin sheet so I would advise small children to bring blankets for comfort. There is a large variety of food but for small children who would expect chicken nuggets or sausages there is not much choice for children. Laura who greets the guests at the main restaurant deserves a massive credit she is so lovely with the children and makes them feel at home. The kids club is excellent and there is a large variety of activities for kids probably the best hotel I’ve been too for this. We really did enjoy this hotel and would return if the restaurant brings more variety for kids food. Overall great hotel

Lopesan Baobab Resort

Exclusive luxury Lopesan Baobab Resort was inaugurated in 2009; it is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, in the exclusive Meloneras holiday area, just a few walking minutes away from the extensive, several kilometres long, Maspalomas beach and the impressive landscape of sand dunes. Famous Maspalomas lighthouse is situated nearby, as well as the long coastside promenade. ExpoMeloneras Convention Centre is also located only a few steps away from the hotel. Five-star hotel Lopesan Baobab Resort has become one of the preferred destinations for family holidays of Spanish national tourists. Thanks to the uniqueness of its architecture inspired by the African continent, its impressive water landscapes with pools, rivers and waterfalls, as well as the high quality services offered, this hotel shows off ethnic charm, modernity and refinement. The hotel’s main entrance leads guests over a picturesque wooden bridge to the reception area, passing a grandiose aquatic landscape with waterfalls. From the lobby you can reach the hotel rooms or the large garden area, on a surface of 56,000 square metres, in the centre of which a large 21 metres high wooden African lodge is located; this lodge houses a restaurant and a bar. Common areas are connected by an extensive sheet of water crisscrossed by small bridges. In total there are nine swimming pools (all of them heatable at different temperatures) covering a total surface of 4,245 square metres. The “lazy river”, two artificial beaches, pools with waterfalls and caves, and two pools for babies and children are specially outstanding. The hotel’s leisure and recreation areas are enriched even more by a complete entertainment programme with a variety of activities during the day and in the evenings. The Lopesan Baobab Resort offers high quality cuisine in all restaurants, characterized by an elevated level of creativity. For this purpose the hotel’s select kitchen staff puts special emphasis on using the best products and on preparing them in presence of the hotel guests. The ‘Akara’ Restaurant is only open for dinner and its name refers to an African recipe; it offers flavours from the very heart of Africa with a menu committed to originality. The hotel’s second à la carte restaurant is the ‘Pili Pili’ Restaurant, open at lunchtime and specialised in paellas, seafood and grilled meat. Furthermore, there are two buffet restaurants, the ’Marula’ and the ‘Baobab’, the premises of which are conveniently separated to provide differentiated atmospheres where delicacies from international occidental cuisine are served. The rooms’ interior design carefully combines colour schemes and African ambience. The Lopesan Baobab was built on a plot of 72,000 square metres with a total of 677 modern rooms. The hotel has at its guests’ disposal a complete and varied entertainment programme, offering something for everybody. Many of the organised activities take place during the day and in the evenings.

We have just came home from a family holiday from this hotel. What can i see, it looks even better in person than the pictures, it is amazing. Pros Swimming pools are amazing, one to suite every need, family friendly, peaceful and lively. Rooms are excellent, no complaints, we stayed in a family room which was cleaned daily. Complementary shampoo and conditioner. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Waiter service around the pools and bars to order your drinks. The venue is superb, once you step inside the hotel you are in awe of your surroundings. No more than a 10 minute walk to the main ‘strip’ but once you are in the hotel you feel a million miles away. Cons. Food, we went full board for this holiday and found it was the same thing to eat most days to the point of our 7 day holiday the last 3 days we went in to town for our evening meal. In no ways are we fussy eaters but there is only so much salad, rice and fish you can eat. Drinks can be expensive, for 2 soft drinks and 2 pints of local beer is 15€ if you are wanting cocktails make that more 20€ a round. There is a supermarket a 5 minute walk from the hotel selling the exact same bottles of water for 0.45c rather than 2.50€ that the hotel are charging. We bought our own drinks for around the pool and no werent the only ones doing this. All in all would i go back, yes i would. The hotel and staff make this hotel a true experience. I would recommend this hotel to all.

Lovely hotel, very relaxing for a week. Stayed in the gold level with a swim up pool. If you stay in gold level you have access to the San Sebastián lounge which is situated at the top level of the hotel with its own private area with plenty of sun loungers and infinity pool. Gold level includes beer, cava, soft drinks, a daily sandwich or bocadilla and crisps and nuts from 10am till 6pm. For the price you pay it’s well worth the money in my opinion but could be costly if your a family. If your dining full board as a gentleman take long trousers for the evening buffet or you won’t get in. All in all it’s a great hotel and well worth a visit. Even if your not in gold level you still have plenty of sun beds and gear pools and really nice rooms.

Fantastic hotel. Decor and cleanliness were impeccable. Staff all friendly and welcoming. Little touches like remembering what wine you’d ordered the night before, level of service you cannot put a value on. Perfectly located next to beach, showers on the beach & shops close by for drinks etc. Pool area is lovely overlooking the bay & we used the health spa as well which was stunning. The beach is essentially a lagoon so very safe for swimmers/kayakers etc. No hotel gym but were advised there’s one adjoining that guests can use. Local restaurants look lovely but we ate at the hotel. Food was exceptional and something different every night. Omelettes are stunning. Bar on 17th floor has stunning view of the mountains & perfect to watch sunset Would highly recommend.
