Nice family resort - recommended if you want quietness

I was looking for a quiet place to spend a week by the beach, this place meets all my needs. - the restaurant is closed but you can use the facilities, great place to work. Internet is pretty strong. - the staff is super friendly and very careful ! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe. - the way to go is a dirt road but very easy. I’m clearly not an experienced driver but it was very easy to manage. Recommended to have a motorbike as this part of the island is still recovering from covid, however you’ll find a 7-11 on the main road (10 minutes walk).

Restaurant permanently closed back in April, and was still closed when I left Koh Phangan in September 2020 (was staying elsewhere as moved after 3 nights) however hotel still taking bookings for rates including breakfast, and took me a few months to get money back from Expedia.Hotelkept saying breakfast was being served, but fortunately I photgraphed closed restaurant as noticed hotel was a bit dodgy/greedy when I arrived as they said they were closed although still taking bookings throughout! Beware of Loyfa I have stayed before but now taken over by a young Swiss guy and things have changed... plenty of well priced good HONEST hotels still operating on Koh Phangan eg Zama resort, Koh Phangan Bayshore, Villa cha cha, Milky bay resort, Benjamins Hut, etc etc. STAY ELSEWHERE

Our bungalows are spacious with comfortable beds, hot shower, safety box, mosquito net, fan and a private bathroom and all have a balcony with a hammock perfect for lazy hazy days, our A/C Cottages offer you a bit more Luxury, they are more spacious and have a fridge and Cable TV too. Our restaurant serves mouth watering Thai and Western food, or you can just hang out with a Singha or two! Take a walk down the hill and through the village and you are at lonely beach! The Penthouse is something special, no a/c but has also a thatched roof to keep it cool, a spacious room for couples, a small group or a small family.

Reviewed By Kasper-BengieHad a fantastic time staying in little Eden. It was lovely to live amongst nature and hear the sounds of the jungle having come from the centre of Bangkok. As an added bonus we even got to see some monkeys engaging in some monkey business on the premises. The owner David is a great host and generously provides water refills.

A hidden gem
Reviewed By JaneandOtis73Khao Lak is home to many stunning resorts but for us, nothing compares to Ao Thong Beach Restaurant and Bungalows. It is based in THE prime location and offers outstanding service and truly delicious food - food served "on the beach" and you don't have to pay additional monies for the privilege of dining al fresco, under the starry skies - sublime. Mr Nueng is a superb host and will go out of his way to look after you - he responds to communications immediately and is so easy to deal with. He and his family are "old school" hoteliers and for us, this makes a holiday - a family run business, with family values. We have been staying here for coming up to 15 years - never been disappointed and cannot wait for the next visit.

We are a small family run operation right on the beach in Khao Lak, here since 1988. Bungalows directly on the beach, a small private beach and Khao Lak beach, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. We also run three day live aboard Similan Tours for snorkeling. Good food, tours, long empty beaches!
Very disappointing

We immediately asked to upgrade and were told the place was fully booked - it was not. 'Really regret locking in a 3 night stay with no cleaning service or amenities - even had to ask for our own toilet roll which was given with a scowl. The breakfast was overpriced and vile - once was enough for that. No shampoo, bottled water, etc. Disappointing.

Nature atmosphere,very relax. The houses are clean & comfortable. The atmosphere at the pool was very nice for families.
Reviewed By forrezVery charming place and kind reception. Shuttle bus to the beach and the restaurant. Quality of the restaurant was not like some other but ok. One thing we did not like, the boss was only friendly to the long term guests but that was the only remark we had.

Reviewed By Thomas1806Well, you have some options here: go to Than Sadet on day trip, and sleep elsewhere. It’s pretty, but can also be rough and windy at times. The Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on the rocks are truely spectacular, but worn and need refurbishing. They got the basics you need though. Some of Plaa’s bungalows seemed better off. The bar at the beach is overpriced and you get tired of reggae. The two other retaurants have better food. Don’t forget to buy the homemade banana chips at the Silver Cliff Restaurant! And do some hiking. Go see the waterfalls or hike to Thang Noi Pan and visit the cool Hide on High bar for a great view of the coast and sea on the way.

If you are looking for a small paradise in a village near Chiang Mai you came to the right place. Our boutique resort consists of only 7 teakwood bungalows built on stilts in traditional Thai style. Relax on the huge private balcony with a view of our swimming pool (not chlorine but the newest system without any eye irritation) and our lush garden.
Great Tropical laid back home stay
Reviewed By merijn dHans and his wife will take care of you, no worries. When Hans gives advise or book( half) day trips, for sure you will have a fantastic time. The food is great and the atmosphere in the village is very laid back. We were here in august , 3 adults and 3 kids and had 2 bungalows. The kids had a fantastic time and never a boring moment. For the dutch and Belgian travellers, Hans is Dutch so no miscommunication:) His wife is a fantastic cook. Hans communicates fast and clear by email and he does exactly what he promisses!
