Nice basic hotel
Reviewed By DstanhillStayed their one night as part of the Danakil depression tour by ETT. Basic and clean with hot water and WiFi. As it was included in the Danakil tour package we did not pay so can not say anything on the value for money.

Reviewed By 0921markoWe were in Gonder to celebrate the Epiphany. Considering that we had an accommodation cancelled, we were short on options. This place was overpriced, and simply nasty...disgusting. We spent 3 weeks in Ethiopia, and this was by far the worst accommodation that we had. The toilet did not work, and there was no running water in the sink or shower. The party downstairs went until late, so there was really no falling asleep. Afterwards, the room next to ours had someone pounding on the door until nearly 2 in the morning trying to get in. Where was the 24-hour reception to deal with this...nowhere. Leaving the hotel at around 3:30 in the morning to go to the festival, we found that we were locked into the courtyard and couldn't get out of the building...somehow we managed to wake up the receptionist in the lobby. Only one positive, the Wi-Fi actually worked pretty well. But we could have slept on the street for free and borrowed the signal there...probably would have been just as comfortable if not more so. Overall, a really embarrassing experience here. There are so many beautiful things to experience, and this really can throw off the entire travelling experience. Fortunately, we were able to find another accommodation the following day for our last 2 nights in Ethiopia. Unfortunately, we were refused a refund for an absolutely sleepless night in a filthy accommodation. One more thing...why would we have been offered after being angry to have our bathroom fixed or moved to a better room? Why wasn't the bathroom fixed beforehand if it were possible? What kind of luxurious room could we have been offered to have made up for the disaster?
