Tbilisi (English: /təbɪˈliːsi, təˈbɪlɪsi/ tə-bih-LEE-see, tə-BIL-ih-see; Georgian: თბილისი [tʰbilisi] ( listen)), in some countries also still named by its pre-1936 international designation Tiflis (/ˈtɪflɪs/ TIF-liss), is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, since then Tbilisi served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Between 1801 and 1917, then part of the Russian Empire, Tbilisi was the seat of the Imperial Viceroy, governing both Southern and Northern Caucasus.

National Botanical Garden of Georgia

This is a relatively large and beautiful garden, it is a must-visit, you will see plants from several geographic regions all over the world, visit the waterfall, and if you are feeling adventurous you can ride the zipline. Starting from the top of the hill where Mother of Georgia & Narikala Fortress reside, all the way down to the old city where you can visit the Mosque and sulfur baths, this large garden is a perfect escape from the city in the city, you can walk around, relax, breath in the fresh air & feel the nature. I recommend going up to the garden using the cable car, a quick stop at the Mother of Georgia, and Narikala Fortress, then visit the garden, there you will find yourself near the zipline.

A very beautiful place where you can spend some time taking marvelous photos. It's located north east of Tbilisi, where you can find it on your journey to the east towards Gori or Gudauri. The view are widely different depending on the season. I very much enjoyed the winter colors in february.

Legvachtahvi Gorge

The walkways and bridges are well-maintained and make it easy to get around. We visited on a sunny weekday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy or crowded. There were street musicians and dancers in folk costumes in a couple places. This is an incredible attraction and without the walkways few people would see the wonderful gorge and waterfall.

Nice waterfall, not too big/fancy but it’s close to the old town and the baths. It’s easy to reach and doesn’t take much time.
