Togwotee Snowmobiling Trip

Reviewed By James Z

We recently took a guy’s trip to Togwotee to snowmobile. We booked the trip back in the early fall and did one of the Winter Packages. The package made everything very easy. It included transportation from Jackson Hole airport, lodging, food and a guide for each day that we rode. Sue was already at the airport when we arrived and gave us a lot of suggestions and highlighted some of the area that we passed as we made the drive to the lodge. We stayed in the main building which was perfect for a few guys as the restaurant and bar were located downstairs. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Nice big breakfasts and the dinner specials were excellent. Due to staffing dinner was served in the bar but breakfast was in the Grill. We rented snowmobiles and the process was very easy. Our guide Benton was fantastic. He did a nice job giving us some background and showed us some amazing terrain. Even with low snow totals this winter he was able to bring us to some amazing backcountry areas. The riding was intense and challenging but we rode within our limits and Benton helped us quite a bit get unstuck. I would highly recommend a backpack with a lot of snacks with lots of water. You will be riding at a high altitude and will get thirsty. We did go into Jackson Hole one evening and enjoyed the sights but stayed at the lodge most of the time. Don’t bother packing a bathing suit for the hot tubs, those are now closed. Kelly and Dan drove us back into town for our flight and thankfully they told us to arrive early. This airport is very small and does not offer a lot of services. If you are looking for an amazing adventure I would highly recommend Togwotee Mountain Lodge.

AMAZING View!

A great place to get away from it all. No TV’s and spotty cell and internet. The best part was the AMAZING view from our cabin. The room was basic. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants were average. Did I say the view was spectacular-which made it worth anything else that was lacking.

Lodges were nice. Just WAY expensive.

Rooms in the lodges were nice. Unfortunately, they are WAY OVERPRICED. I guess it doesn't matter because they book out a year ahead. WiFi did not work, which was blamed on a storm that came through. We stayed three nights, and it never did work.

One of the best!

We try to economize when traveling and have seen some "low end" places. The Sage Motel in New Castle was very reasonable and had wonderful perks. Well maintained (there was some work in progress both in/out though one could see more improvements underway!). I LOVED the flowers, patio's and spacious interior. Good beds (nice soft toilet paper?), soft towels, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee. All the necessities. I would recommend an mirror outside the bathroom. All in all, a lovely place and we would definitely recommend it and stay here again. Thank you!

This is a must stay location. The cabins are clean, well stocked and the owner, Nora, is so sweet and helpful. You can easily walk to anywhere in town, including the town parks. We grilled out and took advantage of the picnic tables on site. The internet is fast and I had no trouble working remotely. We stayed for the entire month of September and enjoyed every moment. We liked it so much we’ve already booked it for our next month long stay in beautiful Pinedale!

***Do not go here. These people are scammers that stole money. After checking in to my room, I noticed multiple issues with the room - the cold/hot water was not working properly, the toilet and shower was not cleaned as well as it smelled terrible. After 10 mins in the room I decided to find another place. Craig, plays himself to be a nice caring man, lied to me and said he would give me the full refund. Five days later, and after a brief phone call with Craig, he informed me he would not be giving me a refund, as well as calling me a liar.

Yes, the pandemic has hurt many businesses. Hopefully, the current owners can turn it around, but if not maybe it's time to sell?

Has lost its luster a little

Reviewed By Travel785866

I have been to BCL three times now over 6-7 years and I can report that they have slipped. First the bad - rooms are dated and need some upgrades (like showers) and service is vey spotty (used to be impeccable). The good - food is incredible and the main buildings are gorgeous. And the activities are still pretty decent.
